Chapter four

889 Words
Jude Latisha and I separated from the group and I’m still reeling over the fact that Johnny is back and Allyson was the cause of his… shall we say temporary form along with his girlfriend’s. So I don’t exactly notice when Latisha goes missing but I do notice when the hallways start to look like they’re melting. Wait the hallways are melting. What the f**k? When I turn around to grab Latisha’s hand she’s not there and I’m… in the basement? Not taking time to stop or think I just follow the patch that keeps changing until I hit a double door that has a swinging door on it and step through. I hear the creak and bang and see Latisha rush into a hedge so I go rushing after her calling her name which she obviously doesn’t hear because next thing I know she’s gone and the mate bond is pulled tight. Going through the hedge right after her I wind up in Allyson’s room sans Latisha. “Lattie! Don’t play with me!” When I don’t get a response I search Allyson’s room for her spell book, which is hidden in her closet on the shelf beside 3 other spell books. So I take them all and we can figure it out later. Switching to my wolf form while also hiding the books in a pocket realm I can use because our mom is fae. We’re only classified as shifters because we can shift like our dad who is alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, mom was queen of the summer court. She abdicated to her younger brother to be here with her mate. Lost in thought I don’t see the thing jump out at me out of no where, all I know is I’m here one second and not the next. What happened “You seriously did not just leave the room to die!” Said behind me. I whirled so fast I kept going round until I stopped facing Johnny and Becca. Becca who had a scowl on her face. I shrug my shoulders, what else was I supposed to do? I didn’t even know what happened. “I was following Latisha and now she’s gone and I’m here and I had the spell books in the pocket realm” Becca hiccups and dramatically silent screams at the ceiling like it would help her. “I send my clothes to when I shift.” By the time I’m done Becca has tears down her face. “If you can access your powers I can probably use” I try to use my power and grab the books. “Mine as well” I finish as I’m able to grab the books. I look up and crook a smirk at Becca, take that angry girl! I think. I swear she hears me when she narrows her eyes at me. We’re going through the spell books when Latisha pops out of nowhere between Becca, Johnny, and I. With wind whipping everywhere while she’s hovering above the ground and see through like she’s in stasis like us I know she’s been taken by the monster. Her eyes are white and she starts speaking in a layered voice that sounds like she has 9. To end the spell of eating fun You need to consume by the ton. With something white and a good crunch Spell is broken on a good munch. When she’s done, her eyes go back to normal and then she starts to panic. She rushes us and explains what happened. Thankfully her voice is back to normal with her melodic lilt. “We have to warn the others!” She looks at me and starts tearing up. “I called for you, I was in this ever changing room and then a hedge appeared in front of me and a creaking door behind!” I grabbed her then and pulled her into me for a hug. “I called your name Letty, I called and called, and you still left” I say as I hug her to me tightly. “I called you… and you didn’t stop. I can through the door, it freaked then swung shut and slammed, you ran right after that!” She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and she said “I didn’t want to go through the door because I thought it led to the monster,” she sniffles as she looks at me while still hugging me. “I ran because I was scared. I heard nothing but the door swinging open and slamming closed so I ran and didn’t stop. When I went through the hedge I fell through the floor and kept falling until I landed here.” She sighed. “But I was only falling for a couple of seconds before I landed here” A few seconds? Seconds… she was gone for hours but she felt she was only falling for a few seconds. I thought to myself. “You were gone more than a few hours Latisha, more like 6 hours.” Her eyes are getting wider and wider as I speak. “I was able to get to Allyson’s room, grab spell books, go into a stasis, and go through the books before you landed between us.”
