Finding Myself

CHAPTER 1         Once upon a time, far away in a castle on a hill, lived an old woman named………JK.  And JK stood for Justine Keller.  Oooooo.  I'm just kidding, jk really stands for just kidding.  This story isn't like one of those fairy tales that parents read to their young.  This story is about, well, you decide for yourself after you finish reading what I have to say.          My name is Berta Post.  I just a normal 17 year old just trying to enjoy my Friday night.  Since I hate hanging out with people my own age, I am in my room drawing pictures. Other teens my age are wasting their youth with alcohol and s****l activities, but that's not me. People at my high school call me a loner, weirdo, and, just to mess with me, Roberto.  I do mean Roberto, not Roberta.  I ain't do s**t to them, but they have nothing else better to do in classes.  I push my black hair out of my face as I continue what I'm doing. I was so focused on my drawing that the loud bang of my door opening scared the s**t out of me.      “What's up Berta”       “Sup b***h”      Madison and Skylar Johnson.  Those two bitches are the only twins and weirdos I knew.  Madison and Skylar are both 18, but act like kids.  Madison had black hair with blond highlights while Skylar was rocking the blue.  It was like looking at twin Barbie dolls, if Barbie had piercings on her ears, belly, and nose.  Skylar had a red rose on her back while Madison had a golden dollar sign tattoo on her neck.  Their eyes were as black as coal.  In other words, they were me alter egos.     “Hey guys”, replies Berta.  “I'm just getting some stuff done for school Monday”.      “What is wrong with her?”, mouthed Skylar to Madison.  One quick look and Skylar was alright getting cozy in Berta’s bed.  And by cozy, I mean jumping all over it before finally laying down.      “So”, says Madison.  “What does the damage look like tonight, math or anatomy?  Cuz both is a huge pain”. Madison joins Skylar on the bed.  They both start to smirk and laugh at the thought of school work.        I took a quick breathe as I put down my pencil. I turned around and slowly got up from my chair.  Slowly walking towards the bed, I jumped right in-between the twins.  If I jumped any higher, my bed would have broken its back.      "Jesus B", yells Skylar.  "You do realize that this bed is too small for your big butt to squeeze between us".      "Last time I checked, this was my room that you crashed into and my bed where my big ass sleeps on",. Madison couldn't keep her laughter in as tears rolled down her face. Skylar stares at Madison with a smirk.      "Sorry Sky, but she got you with that one," Madison laughed out.  Skylar sat up and pushes Madison off the bed.  "Really. Was that f*****g necessary?".      Skylar rolled her eyes at Madison and turned to me.     "So B, what we doing tonight?" asked Skylar.  "And don't you dare say that word that rhymes with cool hork.  Or else I will smack your arm so hard that your neighbor will scream in pain".  I smacked her in the arm.  "Jesus.  I am trying to help you out before you become a nerd, controlled by what the system tries to teach you".      "Too late, Sky," yells Madison, still on the ground.  "She is already sucked in.  She's like the female Sheldon Copper from the Big Bang Theory".      "She's not Sheldon," defends Skylar.      "Thank you".  I smiled at Skylar for defending her.      "Besides Mads, Sheldon figured out when to actually have fun, he's way smarter, and funnier that little B here".  Skylar and Madison laughed so hard till their stomachs ached.        "Why are you two still here? I can kick you guys out at any time".      "You could, but then you'll have no one to keep you company and laugh with you."      "With or at?"      "Both," Madison and Skylar said in unison.  They begin to laugh again.    n
