Writer POV Since Mason was the Alpha and leader of the greater pack and has the other Alpha submitting to him, he has a lot of enemies because people see him as a weak person. Ever since he was young, he never was thought he would get the throne. He thought everything was going to belong to his brother, even the moon guardian that comes to light once every one thousand years. He never trained to be the Alpha so he won't be seen a thorn in his brothers eyes. But when he got the throne, he secretly trained and become strong. He tried to look weak among his subordinate so he can find their weakness and see who is for or against him. "First of all, Alpha Mason. I'd like to make a report on the northern pack" one of the Alpha, close to the north sprung up. "Tell me, Alpha Dennis" "They've been gathering men, building their troops. I think they are preparing for war" he said. "What?" "Nonsense!" "How dare they?" "The North? They are large!" The other alpha commented. Mason doesn't want to believe it. There wasn't any war when his father was Alpha, why now? He doesn't want anything to do with at all. "How certain are you, Alpha Dennis?" He asked. "I sent spies there and they returned. They have strong and deadly weapons like bombs. Alpha Mason, we better start preparing now. We have no idea when they'll attack. My daughter is in this city, nothing must happen to her" he explained. He's the father of Leah. "Yes, our daughters must be protected" Mason grabbed his head. If he leaves this matter till next month during the next meeting, it might be too late. "There'll be another meeting next week regarding the war. Make sure you're all present. I'll need all of your help in dealing with the north" he said. "Yes, Alpha!" They chorused. "Next on our agenda..." They kept on talking about other stuff till it was evening. Mason strut back to his office and entered. He saw Nine laying on the desk. He was done with his work. He opened his mouth in surprised. That work load would have taken him three days but, it was finished within hours. He moved closer to him. Mason couldn't help but be infatuated by his beauty. His eyelashes were long and his lips small and soft. He rubbed his thumb on his lips and quickly withdraw his hand when Nine moved. "Wake up, Nine" he said. Nine sprung up immediately. "Forgive me, Alpha. I was done with..." "You've done well. You may go and rest" Mason waved his hand and walked to his seat. Nine took a letter. It was a letter with red seal. He took it to Mason's table. "I believe this letter is of great importance, Alpha" he said. Mason saw the letter and the seal. It was red and a half moon was on it. It was from the North. "Where did you find this?" He asked. "Between the documents you gave me" he replied. Mason opened it immediately. He read it and dropped the paper. "Why now? f**k!" He moaned. Nine furrowed his eyebrows. He could tell it was time for the war already. "The Northerners are waging a war against us. How despicable!" He frowned. "We need to start planning now, Alpha" Nine replied. "This is my first war. I'll have to make proper thinking and arrangements. The candidates of the moon guardian have to be protected by me" he spoke like he has almost given up already. It was just how he acted in his last life. He wasn't concerned about the war and that's why he lost. Nine tightened his fist aggressively. He's going to make sure he doesn't get injured and doesn't lose the war because this isn't his first war, it's his second war. "I'll help you Alpha" he touched his chest. Mason looked at him, wearing a confused look. He bought Nine from a slave house when he was originally from the assassin house. Apart from killing people as mission, what does he know about war? He wanted to rebuke him and send him out, since it's no child's play but he gave him a chance. "Tell me, how do you wish to help?" He asked. "We don't know what the Northerners are after. It may be to increase their borders, to get more lands, more women or just to prove who is superior. First thing we should get is first aid equipment for the war, food and water. There are lot of palace in the Alpha's estate. We can keep the candidates for the moon guardian there. They'll be safe. We should also know how and when they are attacking" he explained. Mason's mouth fell wide open. Making such explanation and thinking just immediately after telling him about the war. He was impressed already. "When do you think they'll attack?" He asked. Nine has to be careful. He can't review the exact time so he won't be seen as a spy again. He knew it was going to be after the full moon, that's in two weeks time. They have two weeks to prepare for the war. "I'm not sure Alpha, they could attack tomorrow, who knows? But we should make sure preparations are starting next week" he said. "Call for Alex! We must start planning immediately. I have a lot of things on my table already and this is already one of them. Such an hassle" he touched his head, tiredly. The eradicators outside already left to look for Alex. Nine moved closer to him and touched his shoulder, helping him with massage. He slowly massaged his hands and neck area. "You'll be fine, Alpha. I'll help you with everything" Nine assured him, but there was no response. He stopped massaging and looked at his face "Alpha?" He called for him but he was already asleep. "Huh?" He was confused. The door opened and Alex entered. "You called for me..." "Shhhh!" Nine shushed Alex. He immediately became silent and saw Mason asleep. "Did you drug him?" He asked. "No, I didn't. I only gave him a small massage and he dozed off" he replied. Alex looked at Nine, the expression on his face changed immediately, as if he was disappointed. "I see. He hasn't been able to sleep for days but he slept when you touched him" Nine gasped and closed his mouth. He remembered he hated physical touch. "Is he going to kill me for touching him? I'm sorry!" He grabbed Alex's hand quickly. Alex flinched, looking at Nine's sad eyes. "He won't. I'll make sure of it. But, why did he call for me?" He asked. "It's because of the oncoming war" he replied. Alex frowned. "War?" . . After five hours, Mason woke up. He turned his neck and yawned. "Did I fall asleep?" He asked, touching his palm. He knew he hasn't been able to fall asleep for years. It was as if he has been cursed with insomnia after becoming the Alpha. When the priest came for a check up the other day, he was told because he hasn't found his mate yet. Nine went on his knees immediately. "Forgive me for touching you Alpha. I made a mistake and I'm ready to accept any punishment" he placed his right hand on his chest. "I slept because you touched me?" He asked and Nine modded. "I didn't know you had such an ability, it's quite helpful. With you around, I'll be able to get rid of my insomnia. It was a right choice to buy you" he said, smiling. Alex saw the smile on Mason's face and balled his fist angrily where he sat. He was jealous. He didn't want them to be together, but he can't help it. Especially now that he has become his secretary. He doesn't want to see Nine with anyone else, not even with Mason. He doesn't understand how and why he's suddenly feeling jealous but he knew this would happen. Now, Mason and Nine have to have physical contact for him to sleep. "You must report to my bed chamber every night. That's your punishment, Nine" Mason waved at him, signalling him to stand. Nine nodded in understanding. "If that's what you want, Alpha. I'll do as you wish" he bowed. "What have you two been doing? Why is it so scattered?" He sprung up. They've been making preparations for the war. Everything was perfect, thanks to Nine, using information from the last life. "You're so smart Nine. I'll leave you in charge of the war preparations" Alex gasped. "That's too much work load on him, Alpha" "It's fine, you'll do his secretarial work for him" He frowned. "You should go and rest Nine. Come to my bed chambers tomorrow night. I've rested enough for today" Nine bowed and left his office. He stretched his hand and yawned. He was indeed tired and felt stuffy. He wanted to remove the bandage around his chest. As he stretched his body, walking down the corridor, towards the eradicator quarters, he heard a familiar voice. "Ninah?" He paused. There was only one person that knew him as Ninah in this life and that was Gomez. He turned and looked at him. "Ninah?" He called again, moving closer. "Freeze, intruder. Who are you and what are you doing in the Alpha's palace?" Nine asked, deepening his voice and wearing a serious look. Gomez frowned. "How dare you call me an intruder? I'm the Alpha's older brother, you dumb ass! Aren't you Ninah? Is she your sister?" He asked. Even if Gomez didn't see her clear face that night under the moonlight, he could tell because of the resemblance and smell. "The Alpha is also searching for this Ninah girl. Is she a spy? Did you send her here, sir?" He asked. "How dare you? Ninah isn't a spy. I only found her by the lake. The image of her tender boobs is still stuck in my head, only if I didn't let her go that night" he moaned, grabbing his trouser as his bulge start to show. Nine frowned in disgust. He had to make sure he doesn't appear in front of Gomez as Ninah or else, he'll suffer the consequences of being caught by him.
