FIRST CHAPTER "HER"
In the middle of the night, her eyes opened, and the sound of her crying filled the village. Everyone was pessimistic about her presence, including her father, who was considered the village’s woodcutter.
Her father chose to keep her away from her mother and sisters. Everyone was afraid of the color of her eyes
The old women of the village said that she was a devil. The devil has been born, and if you do not drive her away, a curse will come upon us.
Her mother was the only person who saw the innocence and happiness in her eyes. She hugged her and kissed her eyes while her husband went to take the child and throw her away. She screamed in a shaky voice and said, “Just let me name her.” The husband gave up.
He left the room for a while
The husband smiled sadly at the wife, and all that remained for her were the tears that fell on the little girl’s cheek. Then she whispered, saying:
Don't forget that you are my beloved Thea, don't forget that your mother will love you for thousands of years and I will love you after I die.
Thea smiled and looked at her mother one last time, as if she was bidding farewell to the world for the last time
Then the husband entered and took the girl away. He knew that he must keep her away from the village, even though she was his girl, but he must keep her away and never see her again, so in the early hours of dawn he walked with her towards the beach. He put her in one of the fishermen's boats and then left forever
Fate decided to place her in the arms of the fisherman and his wife. She was their first child after God did not bless them with children. She was their blessing.
Despite the suspicious color of her eyes, the fisherman's wife loved her and cared for her. She was longing for the feeling of motherhood that she experienced with Thea. Years passed and Thea grew up in the care of the good couple. She loved them and thought that life in a small hut in front of the beach would be perfect.
Thea grew up not knowing anything about her real family. Thea grew up inside a lie and believed that the fisherman and his wife were her real family.
But the question is, does the lie remain hidden? Will life remain happy?
One year, Thea was eighteen, and her mother was determined to tell her the truth, not because she wanted to, but because she had to. Her mother was very tired and very sick.
She felt that this year was her last year, so the fear in her heart increased, and she feared that Thea would be lost in life after her, as her husband had grown very old and began to show symptoms of forgetfulness and senility.
So she thought to tell Thea about the truth and give her the address of her real parents, in case she died, so that Thea would not be left alone.
At midnight in 1992, the story began
The eighteen-year-old girl pulled herself out of the house and went to sit on the beach where she always went with her father to fish
She sat holding in her hand her book that talked about vampires, which she was obsessed with, and next to her sat her black cat, Lucy. The weather was quiet and the night was clear. Thea sighed and closed her book, after she heard her mother’s voice in the back.
Her mother knows that Thea loves that place and always sits there, and when Thea goes missing, she will find her at the beach
“Did I fill your silence with noise?”
"Of course not, you can sit down."
Oliva sat next to her daughter and hugged her warmly, saying, “You know that I love you very much, right?”
Thea smiled and said, "You love me as deep as the ocean."
Thea was silent, and silence became the master of the place, unless Oliva said in a shaky voice
“Thea, I want to tell you something, but you must remain calm as always, my quiet girl.”
Thea furrowed her eyebrows and moved away from Oliva's embrace, telling her to speak
“Thea, you are my blessing, and it was as if the Lord had sent down a star on us from the sky that night. The ocean waves were as loud as the sparkle in your eyes, which shone with love and beauty. I loved you very much, and that is why I was afraid to lose you, but maybe, my love I will lose this weak body before I lose you, and I do not want to leave you behind ignorant. I do not want to throw you into the ocean like they did to you eighteen years ago.”
Oliva's voice began to tremble, and the heat of tears gathered in her eyes as she looked away from Thea, who sighed every now and then. Oliva continued speaking, but she stopped her, saying, "What ocean did I throw into? What are you trying to say??"
Then, Oliva could not control herself and began to cry and apologize in front of Thea, who felt a suffocation in her heart and her breathing was rising rapidly.
Then Thea wiped her mother's tears and told her to speak and that everything would be okay, but Oliva shook her head as if to tell her that nothing would be okay since that night
However, she knew that she had to tell everything, so she sighed, gathered her breath, and chose to tell the story from the beginning.
A long time ago, your father used to work like every day, waking up at dawn to go and catch fish to sell, but that night was different. When he arrived at the village where he sold fish, one of the well-known men there came to him and gave him a little girl He told him to keep her away and gave him a lot of money. He did not tell him where or when. He only told him to stay away from the village. When your father took the girl, he returned home quickly, and when I saw her, I felt that all my problems were solved and that I would live happily.
Your father and I did not have children for seven years, and when we saw the girl we knew that we would take her and give her all the happiness in our hearts so that she would become a part of our souls.
Thea swallowed and tears gathered in her eyes. She said, hesitating, “What was her name?”
Then Oliva smiled brokenly, as if she was afraid of what would happen after she said what she was going to say, “When your father took her, the man told him that her mother named her Thea.”
The two were silent for a few moments, and Thea said quietly, “Are you trying to tell me that I am not your daughter?”
She said in an angry voice, and Oliva replied to her while crying, “Please do not say this. I loved you more than myself, and I took care of you and you grew up in my hands since the beginning of your days. You are my child, Thea.”
Thea moved away, threw the book away, and started running away from Oliva, who kept calling her with a hoarse voice and a weak body that was unable to run, but Thea did not listen, but was captive to the voices in her head, so she ran away towards the forest.
The place that will change everything
