Chapter three: can I come with you

The reality of my current situation hit me hard. The wolf did have a point , if he hadn't shown up when he did, I would have surely had my blood coating the forest ground red.
After a moment's hesitation I followed him,maybe I could ask him a favour.
"Why do you follow me piggie?" Dakota shoved both hands into the pockets of his ripped jeans as the dry twigs and leaves continued to crunch underneath his bare feet...
"you saved me...and let me live,let me repay you.." I said as I followed closely behind him, but not too close...he didn't say a word as he kept his gaze ahead.
We soon reached a river bank, the flowing water was melodic as it seemed to glimmer underneath the full moon.
Bending down, Dakota hunched over the water surface, lapping up the water with his tongue, once he'd had his fill, he washed his wounds.
I stood at a safe distance.. "you thank me,but still fear me? It was not my intention to save you..."
"But you still did.." I cut him off as he sighed
"look, me having you around would only mean trouble. Besides, of what use could I possibly have for a young Hogllin" questioned Dakota as he sized her from head to toe. Her features were petite with barely any meat on her. The way her brown eyes looked at him now reminded him so much of the young fawns that roamed these grounds, so innocent and naive, oblivious to the dangers of the world.
"You say Hogllin like it's a bad thing.." I was greatly offended my his utterances,but nevertheless, he was right, the way Hogllin folk were built was different, my kind didn't posses any extra ordinary super strength or haunting skills, but they did make up in other areas.. Not Mr though, I've always had strength and senses that surpassed any Hogllin and you'd think that would make me special, but no, a freak was what they labelled me.
"I assure you I could be a very valuable ally" My confidence had always been amongst the things that set me apart from my kind that rejected me...spineless cowards,tsk.
"Can you fight??"
"Fight?? well, I haven't had any proper training, but I..."
"Can you haunt??"
"..n..no,but I..."
"Go home pig, you won't survive another week out here.." and with that he turned to leave.
My stubbornness wouldn't let me back down, Id already come this far.
I ran ahead to block his path with my arms spread apart
"just wait...I am a healer..I could heal your wounds and I am excellent in the art of traps, so maybe I...I could help you haunt?...Granny thought me.." I stuttered "let me show you" Dakota looked irritated now,maybe I should make this quick.
Remember I said Hogllin folk made up for their lack physical strength? well over the years we learnt to use magic and the likes of elementals and I just so happened to be a healer, according to my grandmother , my mother also possessed this same ability.
unfortunately, I sucked at using these abilities and whatever I was about to do right now would be based on luck that nothing would go wrong.
Rolling up my sleeves I took a deep breath and took out a bottle of water from my satchel handbag.
I poured some out on my palms as j began muttering incoherent words, soon enough markings which had been previously hidden began to surface....This would be my first time healing someone other than myself and Gran.
I could tell my transition shocked him and I was somewhat proud.
"...hm?.."
Taking out the dagger I totally forgot I had with me, I slit my palm to draw blood before i placed it over the open cut, letting a few drops of my blood fall into the wound.
Within seconds his wounds healed and the scar vanished As though it were never there to begin with.
more than him, I was shocked it worked.
"it worked!" I prematurely rejoiced, noticing the sceptical look he gave me, I cleared my throat and composed myself.
"I mean ... off course it worked.." and I let go of my abilities returning back to normal and my own self inflicted wound healing up.
" see..I can be useful to you.." I carried on, but Dakota was quite as he stared at his arm then back up at me...
"hmm..so a few strips and healing...I'm a wolf healing is an inbuilt ability,but thanks either way..." He said in a flat tone.
This damned wold! i thought I was going to cry,it took me time to master this ability and this wolf doesn't even acknowledge it, if anything he should be begging me to stay after that!. Who does he think he is...
"y..you can't leave me here!!" I whined
"and why not.."
Finding my composure... again, I sucked in a sharp breath and ...
"Please! please! please! could I just stay with you for a while,you were absolutely right about everything, surviving in these woods was like helllll, I don't even know how I managed to survive this long...but I really can't go back to that valley, I just can't and if I stay here one more week I might just perish,I promise I won't be a burden , I won't get in your way! Please! Please! please! just let me crash at your place for a lil bit"
I cried and wailed shamelessly as I knelt down with my hands clapped together above my head, I cried and wailed not even giving him the space to say no,am sure this looked awkward,but I didn't care,I didn't want to die now,right now he was my only hope.
Visible veins began to pop out in Dakota's face, what had he gotten himself into, maybe he should have just let Logan go with the girl. After listening to her pleadings, he'd had enough!
"Alright Already!! You're giving me a headache!!" Dakota scolded, rubbing the sides of his temples
"I...I can stay with you.."a glimmer of hope,my prayers have been answered
"yeah,sure" he stretched lazily...
"thank you! thank you! thank yo-..."
"Shhh...I only have one condition.." as long as it doesn't involve me dying, whatever
"Sure,what is it?" I asked
"Try to keep up.." and just like that he transformed into the enormous black and grey wolf disappearing into the brushes..
"wait..you want to play chase?" He was already gone and if I didn't start running, I'd loose him,I couldn't get left behind.
Taking up my Pig form, i chase after him. It was hard keeping up,but I did anyways.
