Payton and her friends walked further and further into the forest, Amber and Dixie leading the way.
After a few minutes of walking they arrive at the exact spot Tina took her yesterday, the clear waters and fresh breeze welcomed them.
“This is your hang out spot?” Tina asked them while she sat down. Dixie shook her head with excitement, “Not actually our place alone anymore but we did find this place.” she spoke a bit disappointed when she remembered it wasn’t their place anymore.
Tina shook her head understanding, all this time she thought it was just a student place to hang away from the teachers.
“Yeah thanks to Cade and his group.” Ralph snorted taking a sit at the edge, his legs dangling.
Payton sat down beside Tina, “What happened?” she asked looking at all her friends as they sat down as well.
“We were just exploring the forest last semester and we came across this place. We informed Dahlia, Amber and Dixie then it just became our spot. But one day the fool followed us, the next thing we knew it was a partying place.” Jaan explained to her a sad smile on his face, this place was exactly where everything between their friendship changed.
They made memories and grew together even more, it was their friendship.
“That’s sad you guys found a wonderful place.” Tina spoke looking at everyone with a sad smile.
“Yeah it still is.” This time Dahlia remarked. Even though students mostly partied here they were generous enough not to destroy the place. “Luckliy..” Amber trailed looking at the sky.
“If you’re not here where do you hang apart from around campus.” Payton asked out of curiousity, the only place she had hanged with them out of campus was this place, she thought maybe they have another place.
“Within the forest in a cave, it’s our secret place!” Keelin squealed looking to the direction of the forest, deep within.
Amber snapped her fingers gaining everyone’s attention. “So guys are we talking a dip and doing our usual?” she asked the group.
Ralph stood removing his tank top throwing it to the ground. “Of course we are.”
“We didn’t bring like swimming clothes.” Payton objected looking at her friends as most of the began undressing.
“We’re in shorts. Plus the only guy to hit on you ladies is Ralph and your selves.” Keelin spoke removing his trousers only standing in boxer shorts in front of them.
“I’m in a skirt though and so is Amber and Dahlia.” Tina pointed out but she was only in her shirt smiling at the group.
Jaan rolled his eyes, she already knew what she would do so did the girls. “I don’t know what you’ll do.” the girls chuckled lightly.
The girls got undressed, to Payton’s surprised they all had boxers or boxer shorts under their skirts. “Do you all just wear those under your skirts.” she asked hugging her legs, she was the only one still dressed everyone was in boxer’s.
Dahlia shook her head happily so did the other girls. “Payton won’t like move your skirt or everything.” she asked.
Still hugging her legs Payton with her right arm patted her back. “I don’t showing my back.”
“You don’t like your wings?” she firmly shook her head, she had never liked them if she did it was way back when she was a kid that time things didn’t affect her.
“But you should they are beautiful.” Dahlia spoke remembering the day she saw them, till date she couldn’t forget them they were beautiful.
The group seemed confused the last they checked Payton always refused to show them her wings. “How did you see them?” they asked Dahlia.
Dahlia let out a tired sigh, did she have to explain everything. “I was there when my mother and the rest of the teachers tested her.” in response they hummed not asking Futher questions.
Dixie walked over to Payton taking a sit beside her, she placed her hand over Payton’s squeezing it with affection. “Payton you know we love you right. You can be comfortable with yourself around us.” she smiled brightly.
Payton thought over it giving her and everyone else a nervous smile she began moving her shirt but Dixie stopped her. “You don’t have to move shirt.” she didn’t force her into something she did not want.
Payton stood looking down at Dixie she smiled brightly. “I want to.” she moved her shirt at an instant her wings came into view for everyone, with the shirt in hand she watched everyone’s reaction.
Dixie stood looking at her wings with complete admiration so did everyone. Even though they had seen all the angels wings they had never seen some like her.
They walked over to her a bit hesitant they looked at Payton for permission, she shook her head yes. Their hands immediately trailed down her wings, the soft feathers passing through their fingers they smiled.
“Wow!” One of them breathed out, her wings where completely breath taking. Dahlia shook her head still touching Payton’s wings, “I told you.” she spoke with a cocky smile.
Tina popped back in front of Payton with a huge smile. “I want to go for a fly with you. Will you fly me?” she pouted adding more dramatic effect.
“Anyone else want to?” Payton asked looking at everyone, they all shook their heads apparently only Tina had never been flown by an angel. Dahlia had Hayley, and the rest had used Ralph for that.
Payton placed her hand on both sides of Tina’s bare waist turning her to face where she was as well. Her head rested on Tina’s shoulder, “Here goes nothing.” she whispered in her ear.
Everyone took a step aside as Payton began flapping her wings, slowly lifting her and Tina off the ground. Tina began feeling a bit anxious the further they went up. “Don’t you dare drop me Payton or we’ll die together!” she shouted looking at Payton over shoulder.
Payton simply smirked, with all her strength she tilted them over flying to the ground with full speed, Tina began screaming.
She passed the little cliff where her friends stood watching. Tina braced herself for impact but it never came, slowly opening her eyes she saw their reflect on the water. Payton was flying them over the river.
She shouted with a bright smile, then her hand began touching the water she couldn’t help but giggle, it felt so freeing.
“For a second I thought you were going to take your revenge.” Tina confessed playing with the water with both her hands. Payton smiled remembering yesterday revenge right now would be so prefect.
“About that...” Payton spoke flying them back to everyone. Just inches from the cliff she flew up still holding onto Tina, eye level with everyone else she let go of Tina.
The girl screamed untill she hit the water Payton laughed like a manic flying above her and beside everyone else.
“Finally!” Keelin shouted jumping into the water joining Tina, then everyone else slowly began to jump in with smiles on their faces untill only one was left, Payton.
She flew over the stone landing gracefully and her wings out of sight she moved her shorts revealing her boxers. Running towards the cliff she jumped over into the water.
The not so cold water welcomed her entire body, emerging from the water she saw all her friends in a circle staying afloat.
“That was uncalled for Payton!” Tina hissed swimming her way to Payton. She tired to strangle her but Payton went under the water, swimming she reappeared behind her. “It served you right.” Payton sang.
“So guys shall we do the do’s?” Amber asked, everyone agreed with a nod, Payton seemed lost. “Det vobis spiritum meum, et labia mea sub aqua.” Amber chanted before locking her lips with Dixie.
From the corner of her eyes Keelin was doing the exact same thing to Jaan. Before she could ask what was going on, Amber kissed Dahlia and what bothered her the most was Dixie didn’t seem bothered.
“Are we just going to act like your girl didn’t kiss your friend?” Payton asked Dixie who simply just rolled her eyes. Then it happened again murmuring to herself she kissed Tina.
“Is this an eightsome?” she asked eyeing everyone who apparently weren’t concerned at all.
“I definitely wouldn’t mind—” Ralph was cut off when Amber teasing punch his shoulder, then soon her lips where on his too, short lived like all the others.
Payton at this point looked shocked, confused and amused. Amber swam over to her next, coupling her face she chanted the exact same words before. Closing the distance between them Payton closed her eyes she couldn’t watch this.
As soon as her soft lips met hers they quickly disappeared so did her touch. She opened her eyes slowly but when she fully had them open she couldn’t see anyone in sight, everyone just seemed to vanish.
Something underwater got ahold of her leg with one yank Payton went under the water. Panicking she expected her lungs to be filled with water but that’s the thing it never came.
Her friends were in front of her smiles on their face and their hair floating with the water. “You guys I thought you drowned or something!” Payton hissed looking at them. Then it hit her she wasn’t supposed to be breathing underwater. “I can breath under water!” she shouted and everyone laughed.
“Yes we all can.” Keelin spoke pointing at everyone, they all could breath underwater.
“But how?”
“I wasn’t kissing everyone for fun, that’s what the spell says. In order to work I have to kiss the person.” Amber explained, Payton shook her head understanding.
As she was exploring the waters with her eyes she caught a sight of a tail, a huge tail connected to Keelin. “You have a freaking tail on you!!” Payton squealed, in hopes she would find a tail on her she looked down but the only thing down there were her two legs dangling with the water.
“I’m a merman remember.” she had almost forgotten nervously laughing she nodded.
“So let’s start our underwater adventure!” Keelin squealed locking his hand in Jaan’s he led the way, everyone followed.
Payton swam along side Tina her eyes studying the beautiful landscape before them.
Beautiful different and unique stones got her attention, living organisms and she caught them all in her hands. It was like a while different world, with a set of different rules.
The whole time they swam deeper into the waters making more memories with each extraordinary thing they saw. For a day they were all mermaids without the tails.
The eight of them swam up to shore after they had became extremely tired. “Best day ever!” Payton shouted on top of her lungs as she fell on the sand.
“And it’s just going to get better!” Tina added, referring to the long partying they would be doing in about a few hours.
Bidding their spot goodbye they walked back to campus, with their clothes in hand, laughing all the way to their dorms. Today to them was the best day ever but it had just began.
