Trouble

Her friends rushing over to her from the benches as most students left. Most actually congratulated her on kicking his ass while the few group just glared at Payton for what ever reason. Amber jumped Payton luckily for her Payton caught her in her arms, Amber crossed her legs around Payton’s waist. She placed kisses all over her face thanking her even though she was sweaty. “You are just wow... That guy deserved it thank you so so much.” she spoke still placing kisses all over her face. Everyone around them meaning her friends giggled, Amber was overly excited about this than needed. “I’m so proud of you that I could just kiss you.” Payton looked at with a pale face, not that she couldn’t want a kiss from her she wouldn’t mind. But the fact that she said it out loud and Dixie sort of also looked taken back. She wasn’t glaring at Payton or throwing any shade she was just amused by her girlfriend’s action. They all knew they were friends they had nothing to worry about, Payton was head over heels for Zelda anyway. Payton grinned at Amber then looked over at Dixie with the same grin, Dixie just rolled her eyes then chuckled. “Amber I think Dixie will now kill you.” she spoke. Dixie shook her head in complete approval. “True. Now babe off we want to hug her too.” she pulled Amber off Payton making room for Tina, Ralph and Jaan to embrace Payton. They all had a group hug with Payton out of pure excitement. Once their hug broke off Ralph spoke with a wide smile. “Man he cried like a dying dog.” everyone agreed with a nod and a chuckle never would they thought they would see Cade cry. Soon Jaan pouted thinking of his two other friends who had the opportunity to miss such a memorable thing. “Sadly Dahlia and Keelin won’t see it.” he stated with a frown on his face. Amber brought out her phone looking at her friends, she waved it in mid air. “Oh bitches I recorded that s**t from start to finish!” she squealed dancing around Dixie. Tina looked at Amber with a wide smile of amusement while everyone else just laughed. “Why are we not surprised?” Because it was obvious one of them would. Before anyone else could speak the headmistress appeared, walking up to the field she carried seriousness and authority. Dressed in a black suit and heels she walked up to Mr. Derek who was still around the field they hardly even noticed him. “Mr. Derek a word.” she spoke, then like she knew Payton was staring she took her attention to the kids. “You too miss Kent.” with those said she began walking to her office Mr. Derek following. Her friends sympathetically gave her faint smiles as they watched the headmistress walk away. Even if she was the mother of one of their best friends, she still had to act on what happened but they just hoped she would be considered. “You are screwed.” Dixie breathed out tearing her gaze back to the pale faced Payton. Payton just agreed with a head nod then slowly began walking away following her. “Stay alive!” her friends shouted as she caught up with the rest far from where they stood watching. Payton sighed slightly afraid what would come from this. Payton walked through the familiar wooden doors to the smartly arranged office. Like the first day she arrived she took a seat in front of her desk, but this time beside her weren’t her parents but Mr. Derek. The headmistress leaned forward resting her arms on her desk. Her face was serious never did she give anything away, it began making Payton more nervous. “You know why we’re here. I’ll cut all the talk short, Derek what were you thinking letting the fight go to a violent level.” She spoke looking at her teacher beside her who seemed not at all shaken up. Payton sort of felt bad even if Mr. Derek could care less about, she took it over the edge. “It wasn’t his fault I—” “I’ll get back to you.” the headmistress cut Payton short, looking at her with a stern face she looked back at Me. Derek, Payton sat there and watched. Mr. Derek gave Payton a faint smile assuring her it was all just okay. “It was irresponsible for me to do but real fighting does involve others getting hurt worse dying. It’s for their own good they have to learn how to hurt their opponent.” The headmistress nodded pointing to Payton beside her she spoke. “I agree with you on that but Cade doesn’t heal as fast as she does and his parents would kill us if they knew their son was injured in just a fun match.” they all knew how his parents acted, they didn’t want to get on their bad side. Mr. Derek fully understood the situation, smiling faintly at her he spoke. “My apologies it won’t happen again.” With an approving head nod she took her attention to the student in front of her. “Now you why did you physically hurt him so much.” she asked Payton, not sounding at all anger just calm. Payton placed her hand over her earlier injured shoulder. “Because he hurt me as well, my arm—” “How is it now?” she asked once again cutting Payton short of words. Payton rotated her shoulder up and down side to side then looked at the headmistress. “Like it was never popped out of it’s socket.” she said still moving her shoulder. “Exactly but unlike Cade he won’t be able to walk for weeks. It’s not so serious to call your parents but it better no happen again.” Payton gave her a nod fully understanding what she had said. She proceeded to speak on the topic, “I know you both don’t like eachother at all but don’t kill eachother, not when I’m around anyway.” “I understand.” Payton murmured feeling slightly bad for him, but like how it came she remembered he was a prick, the feeling quickly faded. The headmistress sighed in relief then leaned against her chair looking at Payton. “Good. Because I mostly wanted to congratulate you. I heard about your other match with Wade, that should the spirit and with Cade just try not to kill him next time.” Payton seemed absolutely shocked how quickly the conversation changed from deadly serious to I’m proud of you. The headmistress chuckled as she saw her confusion, she looked over to Mr. Derek. “Derek you never disappoint.” she praised him. The man smiled brightly, full of pride. “Of course Kassandra.” Payton still looked taken back the two clearly wanted to frighten her earlier. Payton cleared her throat before speaking, “Can I be excused now?” she asked, the headmistress approved with a nod. Payton immediately rose from her seat then rushed out the office, she needed to see her friends. The first thing Payton did was go to her room and take a warm shower. Dahlia wasn’t in the room which meant everyone was at the cafeteria. Dressed in clean clothes and smelling fresh and clean Payton walked through the cafeteria doors to her and her friends usual table. “Hey guys!” she greeted everyone as she sat down right besides Dahlia. Keelin was the first to look up to her, he smiled brightly. “She’s alive!” he exclaimed. Payton nodded, “You’re mother is weird.” she spoke nudging Dahlia in the ribs. “I know..” Dahlia sighed agreeing with her friend. “How is she weird.” one of their friends asked as they looked at the puzzled, they had known the headmistress for a long time they never noticed the weird. “She seemed so serious at first like I was a goner but then the mood soon changed and she was congratulating me.” she explained to them while stealing one fry from Dahlia’s plate. She smacked her hand causing the fry to drop back in the plate, Dahlia smiled happily. “Sounds just like her. Now Amber our video.” she looked over at Amber stretching out her hand to receive the phone. “We’re proud of you by the way, you did a good handy work on that prick.” Keelin spoke giving Payton a wide smile, so did everyone else on the table. “Payton the undefeatable!” Ralph shouted, earning giggles from everyone on the table. Dahlia hissed at Amber her arm still held out. “Come on give us your phone.” she glared at the girl she was impatient. As Dahlia was distracted and everyone was busy eating at talking. Payton stole a fry from her plate and successfully threw in her mouth. As she stole fries and everyone was distracted with the two fighting. From the corner of her eyes she could see Cade walking in his leg in a cast, he was struggling to walk with his arm over Zelda. She smiled devilishly but her smile soon fell when she locked eyes with the girl helping him, Zelda. She looked at Payton with cold and emotionless eyes, she shrugged looking over to Cade she gave Payton a cold shoulder and it seemed she would be giving it her a lot now. Something in her deep down broke by the sudden coldness, it sort of hurt her Payton frown as she continued to eat.
