Sober

Payton struggled to keep her eyes open through the last class of the day before lunch. She was still pretty much hang over, she passed out in the woods then woke up on the ground sleeping on bottles. She was late for breakfast and the first hour but so was Dahlia both the girls had massive hangovers. Now this class she sat in made her exact sleepy it was action less. Payton rested her head on her hand but she was still drowsy, she struggled with keeping her head up. Slowly she began fading away untill a spike of pain shot through her ribs. Looking to her side she saw Tina, who had apparently nudged her violently to stay away. “You’ll her the whole school caught. Just five more minutes then it’s bed time.” she hissed near her ear. Unlike Payton, Tina knew how to shake off her hangover, the girl looked the mostly awake then half of the class. Most of which were the hangover or just really bored out. Payton shook her head understanding, resting her back against Jaan and Ralph’s desk Payton kept her eyes on the board, just a few more minutes and then she’d be free. After a long stressful and torturing few minutes the bell went off, Payton was now free from class. Following Tina out the class she leaned on her for support, Tina helped her walk. Payton had drunk too much alcohol yesterday, she didn’t even know how much she drunk all she realised it was morning and bottles surrounded her tired body. “You drank too much yesterday.” Tina spoke as she slipped her arm around Payton walking in the direction of the cafeteria. “I’m tired!!” Payton whined, all she wanted to do was sleep untill she got her soberness back. Tina looked over to her friend with a disapproving head nod, something else must have happened for her to drink so much, she thought. Even though she knew her only for a week, it was unlike Payton. “Woah, what happened to her?” Keelin asked Tina as she sat Payton down. Once she was sitter Payton dropped her head on the table. “We abandoned her, she ended up drunk and crushed in the woods. She still is very much drunk.” Tina explained looking over at the group, they all felt really bad about it even though it was their manner. Everyone expect Dahlia, she too was quite drunk like Payton she rested her head on the table. Everyone was still buzzed but mostly these two they drunk like no other. “I’m going to get you lunch.” Tina announced to Payton leaving the table to get them both food, she must have been hungry missing breakfast and all. “What happened to you guys?” Amber asked looking at the two girls resting their heads. Even though she asked it wasn’t her place at all she looked hangover as well but at least she could sit. Dahlia groaned lifting her head from the table. “We got drunk. Too drunk now we’re suffering.” she rested her head back but this time she was slightly facing them resting on her side. “Why?” Dahlia closed her eyes remembering yesterday and her heart hurt each time. How could something have been going so well just fall apart. “Hayley left me yesterday.” she mumbled. Everyone seemed shocked at the news even Payton who sat up. “Like left you or left left you?” Jaan asked needing clarity. “Left like she doesn’t want to hook up anymore if we won’t be a thing.” Dahlia answered with a deep frown on her face. “Okay then find some one else.” Ralph suggested looking over at Dahlia as though it was obvious and simple. Dahlia rested her elbows on the table her face buried in her palms the girl groaned. Lowering her hands she looked at Ralph with a stern face. “I don’t want anyone else can’t you see. I need her.” she cried, for the first time she didn’t see Hayley as just a hook up it meant more. Everyone looked at her surprised they had never seen this side of Dahlia. “You fell in love.” Amber simply stated not even bothering to ask because she knew, she had always known. Dahlia looked to the floor with a deep sigh she agreed with a head nod. “Yes. I’m afraid to tell her.” she whispered. Dixie reached over to her holding her hand in hers she spoke, concern all over her face. “Talk to her before you lose her.” she encouraged, Dahlia agreed with a nod she would talk to Hayley she just hoped it was soon. Tina returned with their food handling Payton her tray she sat down between her and Dahlia. Dixie looked over to the girl who still had her head rested on the table not bothering to touch her food. “And you why are you like this?” she asked looking at Payton, so did everyone else. Payton huffed her head well rested on her arms. “I was having fun with the bottle over stepped it.” she mumbled not wanting to tell them the exact true, her herself was finding it hard to understand anything. Keelin disapproved with a firm head nod no, he and Jaan knew why she was so down. “I know why.” he spoke. Which got Payton’s attention, the girl sat up looking at him she couldn’t wait to know what he thought happened. “Why Keelin?” Tina asked looking curious, everyone else was as well. Clearing his throat he unbuttoned his golf shirt, looking at his boyfriend he smile light. “Someone might have kissed someone she wasn’t supposed to and you know things fall apart after a drunk kiss.” Payton looked fully shocked how did he know that. With a pleading look she begged Keelin to say it was a joke but he ignored her gaze. “How did you know?” Payton asked whispering to Keelin, the boys just shrugged they didn’t want to get into details. All the eyes now landed on Payton. “Who did she kiss?” The girls asked out of curiousity they were more intrigued than before. Keelin was about to answer the question but Payton cut in. “Zelda..” she answered looked at the ground. All her friends but Keelin and Jaan gasped at the news, they never thought they would ever hear Payton made out with someone more less that someone being Zelda. “Payton how!” Amber squealed in excitement it certainly was the best news she heard all day. Payton light pinched the bridge of her nose as her head throbbed, she still had a headache. Payton looked at Amber her finger over her lips. “Sshh you are making my head hurt.” she told her in the most quietest voice she could scold. Amber rolled her eyes she didn’t want to be shushed she needed answers, they needed answers. “Tell us!” she squealed again, her friends supporting her with hums. Payton took her eyes else where ignoring their constant questions. As her eyes moved aimlessly in the room, she caught a sight of her red curly hair. Payton watched as Zelda rushed out the cafeteria and the thing that interested her was her friends where all seated on their table. “I’ll be back.” Payton spoke without tearing her eyes away from the door. She got off her seat quickly rushing towards the door even as her friends protested again it, demanding answers. She too needed answers too, to give her at least a peaceful mind.
