Her friends looked at her worried she was stabbing her mushed potatoes out of anger, and she was hardly listening to a word they said. After Payton stormed out on Zelda, she walked back into the cafeteria but with so much anger she hadn’t even spoken word once she sat. All she did was stab her food thinking it was Cade, she stabbed him over and over again. Tina cleared her throat violently twice untill Payton looked up giving her a deadly glare. Tina held out her arms in front of her body defending herself. “Don’t kill me I’m just trying to help here. What’s wrong?” she asked. She shrugged looked back to her plate. “What do you mean, I’m fine.” she stabbed the mushed potatoes again this time less violently. Dixie shook her head pointing to her plate. “Yeah so fine that you’re stabbing your mushed potatoes?” she stated sarcastically. Payton looked up glared at Dixie with rage she spoke. “How about I stab you instead.” she forward the fork towards her, the girl almost jumped out of her seat. “Payton!” Amber hissed glaring at Payton as she held Dixie in her arms. Payton looked at all her friends they all wore a worried expression on their faces. She sighed looking her gaze and dropping her fork. She stayed like that looking at the floor then she looked up locking eyes with Dixie. “Sorry, I’m just really upset right now.” she spoke with an apologetic smile. “Does it have to do with where you rushed off to?” Dahlia asked still carrying a face of concern as she looked at Payton. Payton just agreed with a sigh then a swift head nod. “Where did you go?” Jaan asked his eyes on her and everyone else too. Payton sat upright her arms crossed in front of her chest. “I followed Zelda to her room.” she answered not meeting any of their eyes, she already knew they were staring at her in disbelief, she could feel them. “Why?” Ralph bluntly asked, not fully believing or understanding a word. Payton shrugged looking to the floor. “To talk about the kiss but things went south so fast.” she murmured, her voice irritated but hurt at the same time. “What did you do?” Keelin asked giving her a lazy look which everyone did, apparently it was her who made things go south to them which they weren’t wrong about. Payton quickly looked up in disbelief. “I didn’t do s**t!” she objected almost shouting, but the looks she got in return caused her to nervously rubbing her neck admitting. “Fine I just went along with it she started it. Rubbing her boyfriend all up my face and had the audacity to say I was a freaking substitute that’s why she kissed me.” “What did you say afterwards she said that?” her friends asked again intrigued to where the story would go next. Payton huffed, “I constantly called her and her boyfriend heterosexist bitches. Plus I called her a hypocrite worse than him.” “Just wow..” Tina murmured seeming totally taken back, all her friends look at her with the same surprised. Payton lowered her head sighing, “I’m screwed I know.” she whispered thinking of how Zelda was holding up. Ralph threw his arm over her shoulder trying to cheer her up a bit. “Enough of the somber mood, we don’t cry over women who don’t us. Let’s have a little adventure!” he squealed looking at the rest on the table. “Where this time.” Payton asked looking at Ralph over her shoulder. He patted her arm swiftly before letting her go from his embrace. “We should introduce the new members to the bat cave.” he was addressing the rest of the table as Tina and Payton looked at eachother clueless. Dahlia shook her head looking at Ralph tired. “Again not a bat cave. It’s the rainbow cave.” she stated looking him in the eyes yelling for him to accept it or else. “But I’m not a rainbow.” he whined pouting. Keelin stood smacking Ralph on the head lightly as he could. “You are, you’re a standard ally.” he glared at Ralph, while Ralph rolled his eyes rubbing his palm against the spot he got hit. Keelin tried his best not to snack him again. Dixie jumped out of her seat a wide smile on her face, she clapped lightly. “Get up little rainbows we have fun waiting us!” the girl squealed. Everyone mimicked her and Keelin’s actions, standing in their feet they walked out the cafeteria still dressed in their uniforms. Jaan suddenly stopped looking at his friends he grinned. “Wait let me go get the things we need!” with that he used his vampire speed disappearing in thin air. Everyone stood waiting on Jaan to return. Soon the guy was back with a gush of wind, but this time he had a back pack on his back and it seemed to be full. “What’s in the bag babe?” Keelin asked trying to get a hold of the bag but Jaan took a step back. “It’s what we need for this adventure. Shall we go?” he spoke smiling at his boyfriend, everyone gave him an approving nod stealing a swift kiss from Keelin’s lip they followed the gang hand in hand. Payton found herself on a non familiar path in the woods, unlike the one they took to go to the river this was completely different and mostly there wasn’t an trace of a path. She still followed their lead but as she studied her surroundings. It was quite beautiful around, the trees were fully bloomed some had flowers and fruit. “We’re here!” Dahlia exclaimed suddenly taking a stop. Payton and Tina walked to the front to check out the cave they were being taken to. A very rocky place stood in front of them. Rocks on rocks trees surrounded the whole area, but the thing there was no entrance none that Payton could see. Jaan walked pasted her gesturing for her and Tina to follow he spoke. “Give me a hand with moving the rock!” that went she noticed a huge rock rested on the front of the rocky hill. Giving Jaan a hand they pushed the rock aside without too much effort. The entrance finally appeared to their eyes, everything inside was so dark no light and she couldn’t see a thing. Amber was the first to enter hand in hand with Dixie. She did the spell Zelda did with Payton in the woods, instantly there was light in the cave everyone else followed. Payton walked with her friends, for a cave it was extremely clean no insects where in sight. She walked further into the cave following them to another divided section of the cave. In here there was an actual four seated couch with some beanbag chair, with a few duvet. “How did you get all this here?” Payton asked amused as she threw herself on the black beanbag chair. “We carried it all here. It’s our get away place a second home.” Dixie explained as she took a sit on Amber’s laps on the couch. They made their little cave into something even more, some night they could even sleep here if they wanted nothing dangerous lurked around and if it did that’s what the stone was for. Jaan reaching out in his bag brought out his laptop and some snack, a lot of snack. “You my brother are a genius!” Dahlia spoke taking a bag of chips into her hands. Jaan laughed as he set up his laptop in front of everyone for a little afternoon movie. They all sat down as the movie began everyone had their bag of chips. That’s how they spent their whole free time after lunch watching a movie, having snacks and just having fun together. For that time Payton completely forgot all about the Zelda problem, and had fun.
