Obsessed

The gang sat down on their usual table in the cafeteria with an additional friend. It wasn’t lunch or anything in-between, that they already had. They came to the cafeteria after showing Avery around the school campus, the cafeteria was their last stop. Through out the entire time nothing was awkward between Avery and Payton. Just the opposite they made everything just how it was before. As they sat in the empty cafeteria just talking the doors opened and no other than Cade and his group of friends walked in. He was still limping on his good foot while his broken leg maintained a pretty good social distance with the floor. On his right like always was Zelda. She had her arm wrapped around his waist as his arm went over her shoulder. She noticed Payton and her group, as soon as her eyes locked with Payton’s, the girl quickly tore away from the gaze. Amber got Avery’s attention by snapping her fingers right besides her ear. She looked over to the side meeting Amber’s gaze. “You see that guy that just walked in.” She asked Avery, as she held out her finger pointing in Cade’s direction. She followed her fingers direction then Avery agreed with a nod, “Yeah, What’s up with him?” she looked back at Amber asking. “Payton broke his leg.” Dixie stated as Amber was just about to. Shock filled Avery, turning her head to her left she met Payton’s gaze. “Damn, you’re still violent Catherine?” she teased using the name she most hated the most. Payton furrowed her eyes brows in frustration. “Call me Catherine one more time and am going to snap your neck like a twig.” she hissed. “Still violent.” Avery coughed while she took her gaze back to the rest of the group. “Why did she break his leg though.” Avery asked not daring to ask Payton herself, she valued her neck. “Because of a girl!” Ralph shouted too excited for his own good. Avery now completely wore a confused face. Like Tina had read her mind she spoke out while her finger pointed to Cade’s direction. “See the red head beside him, yeah she caused a war between the two of them.” Tina now pointed back between Cade and Payton. Avery snapped her neck to Payton with a full grin. “I never knew red heads were your type—” she cut herself as she was about to call her Catherine, she already fueled enough from her friend. “You know I don’t have a type.” Payton simply stated not wanting to carry the conversation even further. “Apart from witches.” Avery coughed as she kept her gaze to the ground. “Really because she is a witch.” Dahlia pointed out. Instantly Avery looked up facing Dahlia and not Payton. “Is she already obsessed with her?” Avery asked. “I don’t have a witch obsession.” Payton spoke before any of her friends could make a stupid remark on Avery’s earlier questions and statements. Avery filled her hair over her shoulder looking at Payton with a slight smirk, as her elbow supported her. “Oh yeah? Bonnie Bennett.” she spoke “I—” “Freya mikaelson, Davina Claire, Hope, Faye Chamberlain, Diana Meade, Josie and Lizzy.” Avery continued stating names with giving Payton a chance to object. With a wide smirk she opened her mouth to talk again. “And most of all Abigail crane. Wait and grams.” Payton snapped back to reality once Avery finished exposing her friend. “Abigail isn’t actually only a witch, she’s a demon too. And Hope is more then just a witch, she is a vampire and werewolf too.” She corrected her with a playful smile on her face. Avery rolled her eyes annoyed by her smart mouth. “That’s besides the point.” Avery simply stated. “Then what is your point?” Payton asked amused, Avery was about to reply when the girl answered herself. “Oh wait I know. That I have binge watched the originals, vampire diaries, the secret circle and charmed as well as legacies?” once she finished talking she held out a wide smile. “Yeah and that you always crush on the witch of the series.” Payton held out her arms in defence, “I mean who could blame me. Have you seen them .. gosh.” she rolled eyes dramatically as she hummed at the thought. Everyone looked at Payton mortified, most shocked and only a few amused. Studying their faces Payton understood. “Oh I see the point.. I understand.” she disclosed sitting properly. Avery clapped her hands breaking the uncomfortable silence. “Great, so you and red head huh?” she wiggled her eyebrows teasing Payton. “Ain’t going to happen, Zelda is mad at Payton for bending the rules.” Keelin spoke emphasizing on the bending part. Avery shoved Payton lightly as her mouth held up an o shape. “You didn’t just break his leg, you bent it too.. wow.” she stared at Payton trying to imagine what could have caused that. Amber brought out her phone from her pocket waving it in the air. “Want to see the video?” she asked already unlocking her phone. Avery nodded vigorously, “Yeah of course!” she squealed. Payton clenched her jaw throwing deadly glared Amber’s way. “I told you to delete that!” instead of her hissing and threatening Amber, the words came out like a little whine. Her friends began laughing at her failed attempt. Payton just snatch away Amber’s phone before jumping out of her seat. Amber along with Avery rose from the table. “Give it back!” Amber shouted glaring at Payton, Payton shook her head no while taking further steps back. Amber murmured something under her breath before she snapped her fingers. Again, water fell from thin air onto Payton’s body instantly making her soaking wet. Payton just stood their shocked and dripping wet. Her friends began to laugh as they watched her trying to recollect her thoughts. Avery smacked her hand over her mouth, “Oh my gosh.” she tried her best not to laugh even though small faint giggles escaped her mouth. Amber pressed her lips together, that’s when it snapped. “Grab the phone!” she shouted to Avery, they didn’t have time before Payton acted. Avery immediately snatched the phone away then carefully walked away from the pool of water. “That Amber was inconsiderate.” Payton hissed as she walked away from her friends, they were still laughing even though she held and anger face. Payton from the kitchen grabbed a basin and filled it with water. Using her vampire speed she went back to the cafeteria then threw the water on everyone. She smiled victorious as she watched their reaction, most of them were taken by surprise. Water dripped from their heads to the floor the room was completely silent, the only thing she could hear were the drops of water falling to the ground. And just for that moment she had forgotten her group wasn’t the only one in the cafeteria. Zelda’s group watched them with full amusement. “I didn’t know we would have inside rain today.” Payton broke off with a nervous laugh while she eyed eachother one of the wet puppies. Instantly Payton received glares mostly from the girls. “Payton you are dead!” Tina hissed as she got off the place she sat. Payton slowly back away dropping the basin to the floor. “Yeah try and catch me!” she began running away with normal speed towards the door. But the door wouldn’t open when she looked to see when Amber was casting a spell locking the damn door and from all corners her friends were approaching her. “You know what let’s talk about this like civilized human being, we are—” Payton was cut off when a huge wave of water was thrown in her face by no other then Tina. “Civil enough for you?” Payton just jumped Tina without a single word, she pinned her to the ground. They struggled on the ground rolling eachother on the floor untill Payton was on top once more but now Tina lied on the pool of water on the ground. Payton quickly noticed it then smirked like a fool. “Yeah civil enough.” she chuckled before jumping off her. Tina rose from the ground completely soaked in water and Payton took it upon herself to laugh the loudest. As Tina was about to jump her she jumped onto the tables. But with the help of Amber and Dixie the table threw her off to the ground. Everyone in the room began laughing as Payton laid on the floor. “Serves you right!” on of her friends shouted as they all laughed their hearts out. “Let the games begin!” Payton shouted as she got off the ground her clothes stuck to her skin. Everyone wore terror on their face then broke out trying to hide. They chased eachother around the whole cafeteria as they laughed and pour water or threw eachother off the tables. And the funny thing is Zelda and her group just sat their watched not bothering to stop it at all. They were having the time of their lives untill the cafeteria doors swung open and no other that the headmistress stood their. As she noticed the surrounding she immediately wore a stern face. “Clean this up!” her voice echoed through the almost empty cafeteria. “Yes ma’am!” The doors closed this time Zelda and her friends left along side the head mistress. Jaan looked over as his soaked friends, “Let’s get cleaning.” They laughed as they carried their soaked bodies to the supply closet, it wasn’t how they planned their day but it was fun. And it being the first day for Avery, her day was made. Payton shoved Avery lightly but due to the water she sort of slipped and took Payton with her. “Enjoy it so far?” Payton asked as they laid on ground. Avery giggled then shook her head in approval. “Yeah thank you.” the two girls laid on the floor laughing. Untill a shadow stood over them. “Lazy asses off the ground now!” Dahlia playful spoke as dumped another bucket of water, she ran off immediately. Honestly they weren’t going to take a damn thing seriously. They got off the floor even wetter than before, their day just began.
