Chapter 4

He opened his eyes slowly as everything was blurry at first but became clearer as he kept on blinking his eyes. He tried to remember what happened, the last thing he could remember was being hit by a loaded energy from a very powerful mage.

He tried standing up but he could barely move. "You should stop moving and get some rest" a male voice sounded from the entrance of the room.

"Who are you? And why am I here?" He asked, looking at the man suspiciously.

"I'm master lee, the person responsible for the treatments of mages in the kingdom" He said with a smile as he touched his forehead to check if he was running temperatures.

" Where is the lady? The lady I saved, is she okay?" He said to the man as nothing made sense to him.

Master Lee smiled a little before looking at him "You never saved her, she saved you. You should really not put down your life for a stranger you barely know, it's not worth it" Master Lee said, sitting on a chair and gulping a cup of water.

Zack looked at him still confused. He remembered seeing a mage trying to attack a lady with great energy and he ran to save her, he was sure he felt the hit of the energy. How then did she save him? "How did she save me?" He said, looking at master Lee curiously for an answer.

"Lena is a very powerful mage in this kingdom but, the king prohibited the use of sorcery for women and she flaunts the rule, Prince Guji was just trying to carry out orders but he wasn't a match for her so he might have want to get back on her and then you showed up. According to the description of Prince Guji she knew he was about attacking so she already created a shield to block his energy but you came from nowhere to block her distracting her from shielding herself so the best she could do was roll you over coursing the energy to hit her instead" Master lee explained as he walked to the entrance about leaving the room when the question of Zack stopped him.

"So the mage she was fighting with is a prince and she is a very powerful mage? Did she die? Is she okay?" Zack said finally able to lift his body up fully.

"Even if the spell book says otherwise, there are mages who can survive such an attack and she is no doubt one of them. Enough of the questions, you should get some rest and don't leave this place" He finally said and walked away.

She stood up from the bed as she held her waist in pain trying to move her head around what happened at the forest. Who was he? Why would he try to save her? The most wanted person in Suwon. She felt weirdly excited but also confused.

Almost every person hated her because she practised sorcery so why would he want to save her when he knows she's a bad person.

"You should get some rest Lena" Her step mother said walking into the room with a frown on her face.

"Why will I rest? It's not like this is my first time facing something like this, i can take care of myself so stop trying to babysit me" She said as anger was written on her face. Her mum was killed by a mage, and the blame was passed to sorcery. They all said she was a witch and wanted to endanger the lives of people so the king stopped women from practising spells.

She knew there was more to her existence than living a life that no one wants her, everyone wants her dead, she was like a plague to the kingdom.

"Lena you should stay low key for now, we both know the king will send more person's after you and right now you're badly injured, you need to rest" Her step mother said walking towards her and attempted touching her forehead to check if she was heating up but she cut her hand before it got to her head.

"Stop treating me like a child, stop acting like my mother when in the main sense you're not my mother and you would never be!" She said and walked away with difficulties. She felt a little guilty for talking to her like that but she was right, she didn't want to be babysitted by a new wife who just want to get approval so she can treat her as a daughter

Her mother was never persistent, when she said she wasn't interested in doing something her mother never pushed it, her mother let her make her own decisions and trust her enough to be able to deal with the consequences.

Seeing her step mother doing otherwise is kind of weird, having someone looking out for her, having someone scolding her, she loved the feeling but she just wanted to stay on the process of her mum it felt safer for her.

She walked outside to view the going down of the sun, her house was a bit out of the city because she didn't want the mage disturbing her, in her safe space.

"Oh my God Lena you're the talk of the town" Her best friend said running towards her with a frown on her face.

"Come on So-i, don't be too dramatic, we both know that I have always been popular from birth so nothing changed, you just got to hear new gossip today. Tell me about it" She said, feeling unconcerned about the whole talk.

"So you were saved by a guy when fighting with the prince, everyone is in search of the misery guy who saved the kingdom's most wanted criminal and they believe you both might be lovers or even secretly married"

"That's gross, they really did have something to talk about just as i wanted" She said as a smirk appeared on her face. When the energy from the mage hit her, her body resisted but not for long so, she fought back and then escaped. She knew every mage in the kingdom will be sent after her as she attempted hurting the most important person in the kingdom apart from the king.

She knew this time around that the mages would catch her, so she came up with an idea of spreading the news by telling it to a small child who wasn't aware that she was Lena and now that everyone has something to say about her, no one will care about her whereabouts. She chuckled lightly as she thought of how stupendous her plans were.

"Stop being annoying Lena, you seem undisturbed by the rumour.'' Her best friend blurted out raising her eyebrow, which signified that she needed more explanation.

"You'll get to know soon, just watch how everything plays out" She said as she walked into the house and her best friend trailed from behind with a disappointed look on her face.
