That's going to leave a mark

'Damn girl looking fine,' 'I would love to tap that a**,' 'Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes,' So many thoughts flooded my mind as the soldiers' thoughts scattered around my head. Annoying me as if buzzing bees swarming around me, giving me a headache. The one mind that seemed to be calm and unchanging was Sam. Nothing but an image of the ocean, waves crashing on repeat, the sun setting with beautiful hues around it. The light wind flowed through some girl's hair who sat on the beach in a light bikini. She didn't move but sat hugging her knees on the sand and unmoving, her skin smooth as a porcelain doll and as bronze as the setting sun. She looked no older than eight, a child who seemed troubled with an upset expression. The same image kept replaying in his mind, with no other thoughts just that one image as if a moving picture. No words or emotions flowed from his calm mind which aggravated me. Perhaps this was his child. No humans knew how to create a shield around their minds yet here was concrete proof, slapped in my face. I tried to push through the shield but without my full powers, my mind was pushed back hard. I gritted my teeth as I could feel my head ringing painfully. Sam grunted as he held his forehead as if a headache slammed into him out of nowhere. Blood slowly ran down his nose, he touched the red liquid and looked at it with calculating eyes. I was too mesmerised by his movements to realise my nose was bleeding as well until it touched my lips. Sam looked at me with a million questions swimming in his eyes. I looked away and whipped my nose, I could hear his heartbeat racing out of control. It didn't take long for his stoic stance to change as he led me to the other building with tense muscles as if ready for any attack. I didn't follow him and watched as he entered the building without realising I wasn't following. If he thought I could easily be controlled or commanded he had another thing coming. I scanned the area and walked to the gym area where all the muscular men as well as a few skinny guys exercised. The moment I arrived all eyes turned toward me with amusement. "Lost little lamb?" One of the bigger-built guys asked me as he sat up from the bench press. I scanned the man up and down. I was not amused by his attempt at dominance. "Pathetic," I spat as I rested one hand on my hip with a tilt of my hip. The rest of the men around whistled or howled at my movements with wicked smirks and smiles. "Feisty aren't we?" The man smirked as he got up and towered over me like a looming giant. I barely reached his chest but that did nothing to intimidate me, rather it got my body heating up thrillingly. Not to mention I was dying to stretch my tense muscles and what better way than to knock the man's ego down a few pegs. The man stood at six foot 2 with built muscles and scars scattered across his mocha skin. He had a tooth missing that made his smile creepier and unsettling. "Arrogant aren't you?" I raised a brow as he extended his meaty hand toward my face. Goosebumps scattered across my body involuntarily before he even touched my cheek. "It would be a shame to mess this pretty face of yours," he said gently with a sinister look in his eyes. I could feel the rage boiling in the puts of my stomach bringing forth a surge of power that made the man freeze in place for a moment before he composed himself and smirked. "Remove your hand before I break it," I warned through gritted teeth. "Ooh, threats, go ahead princess, let's see what you got." He chuckled which initiated a chain of laughter from the rest of the men. I didn't intend to leave the man walking after I was done with him for his impure thoughts that would scare anyone. I didn't know much about humans but I knew for sure the man before I deserved no mercy and was the type of man parents warn their daughters to stay away from. Within a blink of an eye, my icy hand was on his wrist freezing it to the bone. Before he could even feel the pain I snapped his hand clean off his arm in a second. When everyone noticed his hand missing they gasped, their eyes bulging out of their sockets as they wondered what I did. The man began to sweat as his heartbeat raced out of control. He slowly looked down at his missing hand and began to shake, his mind unable to grasp what happened. His eyes rolled to the back of his head before he fell backwards with a loud thump that attracted a lot of attention. "Weak," I spat on the unconscious man and brought my hard glare towards the remaining men. "Anyone else wanna see what I got?" I asked loud and clear. No one dared answer as they looked at me with fear in their eyes. I was too busy with the men to notice someone grabbing the back of my jacket and lifting me with one arm as if I were a puppy. I blinked not once not twice but thrice before I noticed who dared touch me without my permission. I looked up with daggers to see Sam looking like he was intent on murdering me for some odd reason. He seemed to be fighting an internal battle as he dragged me back to the bunker, still carrying me like a puppy. When we were inside he closed the door and practically threw me against the floor. My body hit the floor hard but I felt no pain, I knew what he did was not something considered lightly but I knew where he was coming from. "Who the hell do you think you are? Huh?" He yelled in my face as he looked down at me. I sat cross-legged on the floor and calmly looked at him, waiting for him to finish his little tantrum. "What gives you the right to snoop around my head?" He yelled, veins showing across his head. His voice became aggravating and unbearable to listen to, all I desired was for him to shut up and disappear. 'With pleasure' evil Lila sang before something stirred in me. One moment Sam was yelling at me and the next his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell flat on me. "What did you do?" I growled in annoyance. 'Nothing you didn't want to happen' Evil Lila smirked with her razor-sharp teeth. Luckily Sam was still alive, barely but alive nonetheless. His head was over my shoulder while the rest of his body rested either on me or the floor. I sighed in annoyance with a roll of my eyes before I got up and dragged his unconscious body to my bunker, dragging him by his arm as if he were a rag doll. He would for sure feel this later when he woke up. Evil Lila, let's just call her Lily, chuckled at the back of my mind as she saw Sam unconscious through my eyes. “Oh put a sock in it,” I growled as I set Sam on my bed on his back with his arms straight against his body. He looked at peace, I wondered how that must have felt. I have tried for years to find peace but never have I even once caught a glimpse of it. My fists clenched hard as I began to envy the pitiful human who didn't realise how lucky he was to be human. ‘Give him a break, he doesn't know the good he has until he loses it’ Lily snickered evilly as if she had plans for him, devious plans. I ignored her and sat on the floor cross-legged, unmoving as if a statue. Hours passed while I sat there for no apparent reason yet I felt compelled to stay for some odd reason. I was beginning to adopt a lot of human characteristics which I did not like very much. I wanted nothing to do with humans and once I had my memories back I would be out of this planet for good. The evening rolled around before Sam began to stir with a heavy grown. I paid little mind to him as I was too preoccupied with the voices in my head as well as Lily trying to convince me to let her out. This time she was trying to bribe me into letting her go and in exchange, she would make the voices driving me crazy disappear. As tempting as the thought was, I declined once more, nothing was worth risking the release of the demon in my head. “What the hell?” Sam groaned as he sat up touching his head. My eyes dragged across the room while my head tilted towards him, my eyes scanned the human up and down with disdain. What I wouldn't kill to have the peace of mind he had yet he took it for granted day after day. That's what infuriated me most about humans, they took everything for granted. At my hatred of humans, a fire brewed in my stomach as a low growl began deep in my chest. My teeth sharpened as I gritted them hard with the weight of being able to crush through steel. Sam somehow heard the low growl and turned his eyes to the floor where I lay, at the sight of my blackened eyes and extended razor-sharp teeth, his heart skipped a beat as he jumped on the bed. “Jesus,” he gasped in shock as his eyes tried to adjust to what they had just seen. He blinked repeatedly hoping he was dreaming but he was awake and was too afraid to acknowledge it. He resorted to tightly closing his eyes and muttering ridiculous things. “...just a girl.” He muttered as he breathed heavily before opening his eyes. I played with his mind as my eyes went back to normal as well as my teeth with an emotionless expression on my face. “Just my imagination,” he chuckled unsurely. It was amusing to see his mind trying to wrap around what he saw before it quickly dissolved into nothingness. “Welcoming back to the living,'' I said blankly as I got up and stretched my arms over my head. Sam watched my every move, his heart skipping a beat slightly as well as his cheeks heating up. “I presume it's dinner time,” I said as I caught a whiff of cooked meat in the air. “Yeah it probably is, wonder what's for dinner?” He asked with a slight yawn before he got up and stretched. I watched his every move, his muscles flexing in his uniform from his bulging biceps to his shoulders. This is what I assumed girls admired but I found nothing to drool over as I just observed the average anatomy of a male human. When he caught me staring he smirked for some odd reason and began walking towards the door. Humans puzzled me beyond words. ‘You can say that again’ Lila scoffed with a roll of her eyes. I followed behind Sam who towered over my small frame, no one could see me behind him until I walked past them. It was rather amusing to see the terror rushing through the eyes of every soldier that saw me walking into the dining hall. Murmurs about the earlier incident flew around the room within a second, each one was more gruesome than the last. ‘That's her,’ one soldier whispered to another ‘How could such a tiny thing be so deadly?’ one sensible soldier asked in disbelief. ‘Beats me but she's kinda hot,’ the other soldier said. I rolled my eyes at that comment. Sam stopped suddenly in his tracks making me smack dub into his back. “Watch it!” I growled in irritation, my anger rolling off in waves. Anyone close to us got a shiver of fear up their spine as they glanced at me. “Why do you have to draw attention everywhere you go?” Sam asked in annoyance as the entire hall stopped what they were doing and stared at us. “Don't blame me if humans are easily distracted,” I shrugged my shoulders before I scanned the hall. My skin crawled in disgust at all the eyes glued on me, making something within me heat up. “What are you looking at, idiots!” I yelled in irritation. The room suddenly went up in temperature as I could feel my entire body heating up as well as the room. People in the room began to sweat profoundly as the temperature rose higher and higher. The food on everyone's plates began to melt, their drinks bubbling as if being boiled. Heat radiated from my body like a furnace, everyone began to wonder where the heat suddenly came from. Sam, fortunately, knew more than everyone else. He threw me over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes and carried me out of the room. His skin was reddening by the blistering heat coming from my body, his neck and face redder than any body part as my body was closer to his face. He dragged me back to the dorms which were empty as everyone was in the dining room. This time he placed me down gently and gritted his teeth painfully as he touched his burnt neck hesitantly. He hissed at the contact, tears welling up in his eyes at the excruciating pain he was in. Something came over me as I watched his every move, something unfamiliar and warm. I breathed out heavily, my body cooling down by my command before I took a step toward him. He involuntarily took a step back before he froze in place at seeing my determined face. He watched my every move as I gently lifted my hand to his neck, a low light emanated from my palm as it healed his wound sending warmth through his body. Every burn slowly disappeared, he seemed to be too shocked by everything as he suddenly passed out. I rolled my eyes in annoyance before I carried him to my bed and laid him there covering him up before I left the room. Other soldiers began entering the dorm and heading to their beds or gathering in groups to converse with one another. Billy had found me and called me into the office for a little ‘chat’ or so he called it. One thing I should've kept in mind was that you can't trust humans, ever. When I entered the office I felt a sharp electric current suddenly enter my body, shocking me instantly and leaving me paralysed in place. My body slammed to the floor while my eyes slowly began to close involuntarily. “See now that wasn't so hard,” I heard Billy say triumphantly before everything faded to black.
