Ava's POV
I disengaged from the hug as my eyes moved to the caller ID on my screen.
"Is he the one?" Ella asked as I nodded before picking up the calls.
"I want you in the office before 5." He said and hung up even before hearing what I had to say.
I threw the phone aside in frustration, why was Carlos bent on showing me the worst kind of cruelty.
Who the hell appears at work by 5, I just couldn't place my head on what was gonna be the outcome of this.
But I knew it was nothing to be happy about, I had to always obey the orders from my boss, whether I liked it or yes.
"He wants you to go the office?" Ella asked as I nodded.
"How can he ask you to come by 5 a.m?" She asked.
"I've no option than to follow orders." I replied as she frowned.
"But I don't like the way he boss's you around and commands you as though you're his slave." Ella said.
"I know, but you should know that when you're under people higher than you, you just have to endure whatever challenges they throw at you in order to achieve your goals." I explained to Ella as she nodded.
I just had to believe that I'll pass through all hurdles to meet my dreams.
I had to get ready for tomorrow, though I couldn't guess of what the matter could be, but I just had to be positive.
Next day.
Chandler's firm.
I had gotten into the company as instructed as the boss.
I wondered why he had wanted me to come this early.
I thought of him to be in his office as I decided to check out.
I knocked twice on the door as no one gave a reply.
I wondered what was going on as I turned the door knob and it was unlock, I decided to walk in.
"Boss Carlos." I called but got no reply.
I begun feeling uneasy, what exactly could be the case, why was I having this odd feeling about everything.
Carlos had called me up to come by 5 a.m and Now moving in here, I became confused as I wondered what was going on.
I left the room stepping outside as my eyes widened.
All of the company staffs, stood infront of me.
I couldn't believe what was going on?
"H..hi, did you guys come early too?" I asked, cause it seemed so obvious that we were told to come early.
"What are you doing in the boss's office." Someone asked. I didnt understand where they where driving at, but never relented in answering all of their questions.
"I came to look for the boss." I said as they chuckled.
"Really? by this time? Does it took like the boss sleeps over in his office ?" Another question was fired as I silently stared at them.
"to have to sneak your way in here, only meant one thing. "Camilia said.
Camilia was one of the people against me, she had always being envious of whatever I did.
She was literally upset about me, so her acts and utterances had no effect in me.
"She must have come to steal something." Camila said as I sent her a sharp.
"How can you say something that despicable about me?" I asked with a frown.
"Is she not speaking the truth." Another company staff asked.
What was going on here was what I couldn't understand, why were the referring to me or rather suspecting me of being a thief, what the hell was going.
"What? How can you suspect me of being a theft in the company I have worked for quite some time now." I asked.
"It can be possible, that you actually came by this time to steal." Camilia accused without any proof.
"I don't know what you all are talking about? But I got a call from Boss Carlos asking me to come early and that was why I came this early." I defended.
But it seemed as though they believed nothing of what I had just utter.
"A thief would never admit it, especially when they're being caught red handed." Camilia mouthed.
I felt agitated with the way she accused me and made it look so obvious that I had truly came to commit a burglary, I had to wait for boss Carlos's arrival.
And all those who accused me wrongly were gonna pay for it.
"It's obvious to us now that you have being the one behind all the missing stuffs in the company as you come in by night with the evil intentions of stealing them." Someone uttered as my eyes grew wet immediately
"Can you all just stop with this useless accusations. boss Carlos had asked me to come cover. " i explained but it all just seemed as though my explanations were not worth it.
And just then Carlos walked in, as I lit up in a smile, this was the first time ever, his arrival brought a smile playing across my lips.
He moved closer to the scene, staring at me in an unfriendly manner before taking his eyes to the other staffs
"What's going on here?" He asked.
"Boss we caught Ava going into your office as she was obviously searching for what she'd steal." Camila accused immediately, as he then three his glances to me
"What we're you doing in my office?" He asked as i tried to speak but my words failed me.
More than anything i was so stunned that Carlos was asking me this.
As i could still remember vividly well, he had called me to come for something important, and i came per his instructions based on what time i was to arrive.
"I ask again, what are you doing in my office?" He asked.
"Y...you had requested I come in by 5." I muttered staring at him as he glared at me.
"After being caught red handed attempting to steal you still have the guts to lie to me?" He asked as I stared at him in an utter surprise.
