Chapter 12: Strange Saviors

1196 Words
Ada shut her eyes close as she felt the hot and putrid breath coming from the beast’s stretched mouth, which was already inches away from her face.        Take care, Ni’mula, Laria. I know you’ll survive here. Jeez. You two might not even be here.       Then, she heard a slicing sound of flesh. She spread out her arms as her body dropped down on the ground with her eyes still shut, as she doesn’t have much courage to see her gruesome final moments.       “Ouch!” she groaned in pain as her hips touched the pebbly ground. She opened her eyes and saw the beast still standing in front of her, with its head slowly detaching from its neck with black fluids dripping down its body.        She gasped at the sight and automatically covered her eyes with both hands and uttered a series of curses. When she heard its head drop to the ground, she removed her hands from her eyes and was alarmed when she saw the beast’s body disintegrate into ashes as well as its head that had just dropped down on the ground.       That is when she saw the group of three women huddled together just behind the body of the beast that was there moments ago. All the women looked unfriendly, and they are now aiming their weapons at her. She realized that they’d be going for her head next. She knelt and dropped her head on the ground and raised both hands above her head as an act of surrender.       “Please, don’t hurt me! I’m just lost!” she said in a hurry, afraid they won’t hear her out.        “Who are you, and why are you wandering in the f*******n Forest?” asked a woman with a deep raspy voice. She heard the woman’s heavy footsteps coming towards her. Ada looked up at the one who spoke and was terrified when she saw the woman’s battle ax still drawn at her.         The woman looks like she’s in her late thirties or maybe early forties. She has an olive complexion and an athletic body, seeing her muscled arms and legs. Her short and black hair is knitted into a chunky warrior braid that highlights her broad shoulder line. She wore a black, sleeveless with a plunging V-neckline, bear-fur top that reached down to her navel. She has a wide brown leather belt around her waist, probably meant to hold her weapon.      Meanwhile, she has a dark brown above-the-knee-length, bear-fur miniskirt worn below partnered with a pair of brown leather boots that rose to her knee and a long, black bear-fur cloak over her shoulders. Her outfit made her look like she’s a chieftain of a wild tribe or something. Everyone would be easily intimidated upon seeing her literal display of fierceness.       Are they, by any chance, warriors? Amazons? Does it mean this is not a dream?        Her eyes glistened with tears once more as she remembered her grandmother.        Are they really dead? And I, I am still alive?       Somehow, she needs to get out of this concerning situation first. She needs to find out how she’s going to get home. She needs these women’s help. And, despite the apparent intimidation of the woman in front of her,  she felt slightly relieved that they spoke the same tongue. She’d have a chance to explain. These people might understand her and maybe, they could help her get home. She stared at the bear woman’s square face for a few seconds and tried to meet her cold gaze. She couldn’t decipher any emotions from her black, round eyes. She’s slightly afraid that this woman’s still going to behead her regardless of what she says.       “I’m Ada, and I’m from Runda Sevilla. I understood that I trespassed on your private domain, but I think I was kidn*pped and sort of thrown away here. I’m honestly lost and confused. Please help me find my way home, and please don’t kill me!” she explained, her hands still raised above her head as she pleaded for her life.       “Rundasivila?” Ada looked at the other woman who spoke, whose face wrinkled in confusion. She’s standing behind the bear woman, on her right side. The woman who spoke is much younger than the bear woman. “Where in Si’tan’s name is that place?”        Satan? Dios mío! Are these women members of a cult?       She didn’t make it obvious that she suddenly felt uneasy at the woman’s words. The woman is probably in her late twenties. She has fair skin and fiery, chest-length hair which is also braided on the right parted side, and the other side was just let down. She has a circular, freckled face, and her light brown eyes are squinting at her. She has a small, rounded nose and thin lips. Her clothes are much more presentable to the eye. She’s wearing a thin, navy blue knee-length dress and just covered herself with gray pauldrons and a metal corset for protection. She has a pair of ten-inch-length, chestnut brown leather boots. She looked like a sexy and bad-a*s cavalier. She deduced that this woman might be the most warm-hearted one among this group.         “It’s in Espanya, señora,” she answered. The women looked at each other, probably puzzled at her answer. They don’t seem to know where Spain is.       Don’t they have maps here?       “Lady Ada of Rundasivila, I’m quite curious as to why you’re n***d too.” Another woman spoke, and she looked much more feisty and violent than the bear woman. However, she’s not intimidated by her, not the slightest chance even if she's a hundred percent guilty of a crime.        That woman, too, has tanned skin, but she’s the skinniest and the tallest of the three. She’s probably around her age. Her small face is gifted with hazel eyes, thick lashes and brows, a high-bridged nose, and a set of firm, thick lips.        Ada scoffed inside as she saw the coordination of this woman’s clothes. She’s wearing the same black tops as the bear woman, but only fifty percent of her unnecessary massive chest is covered. She partnered it with a dark brown, skimpy, bear-fur miniskirt and black, low-cut leather boots that highlighted her long, slender legs. It’s evident that she’s exhibiting her perfect body for everyone to gawk at.        “I woke up here like this, madam. As I’ve said, I can’t remember how I ended up here and how I ended... n***d,” she reasoned out to that annoying woman.        “Zeya, this must be a trap,” the red-headed woman told the bear woman.       Oh, jeez!
