When Luce and I, had arrived at Mcdonalds, Mrs York was just pulling up, a motorbike had its perks in traffic. We'd order and eaten lunch together, Mr York had asked up what we planned to do at the end of schooling, I hadn't be able to answer, because truthfully I hadn't decided. Luce had said something about being a bodyguard and winked at me, as Mrs York expressed what a waste it would be, with such goodmarks first day back. I'd tuned out enjoying my food until we had to head back, on our way back to school, I'd felt disappointed pulling into the carpark, I was so jealous of his harley and I didn't want to get off. I returned the borrowed helmet to the bike next to us, and the jacket to Luce, he'd told me to keep it but I was more of a vest person. I headed in the direction of my next period of free study in the library, promising Luce I'd meet him after school, I still felt wary of him but couldn't deny he'd been fun over lunch. Walking into the library, I sighed in, and headed for the sci-fi section. My phone vibrated in the pocket of my skirt, I looked down to retrieve it, only to walk into a wall of muscle in my distraction. I put out an arm to steady myself, the person I'd run into held my arm to steady me. Looking up I met an amused Jasper, his blue eyes dark and mischievous. "Should've gone to spec savers." he winked, referencing that stupid add on tv at the moment. "Ha ha ha Jasper." I frowned at him. "Well I know they say; watch where you walk, but they don't mean to literally watch you feet as you go." He chuckled, his light hearted conversation, lifting my mood too. "You had a free too?" I ask, as he nods. "Yep, best class of the day now I get to spend it with you." Jaspers eye twinkle as he tucks a piece of my loose curls I'd missed with my straightener, behind my ear. Jasper steps aside, letting me pass so I can continue to the sci-fiction section, I can hear him follow me, and I feel cheerful I'd get to catch up some more, so soon. After picking a book, Jasper and I find a spot in the reading corner, we grab a seat on the bean bags and I suddenly feel 10 years old again. The book I picked up is the first of the series that I'd already read a few years ago, but I still had envy for the heroin, she was badass. The character is meeting the king, to accept to be part of his competition for the job of kings champion, a personal assassin, When Jasper interrupts. "Hey Cassie, are you sure you don't need a lift somewhere after school?" his words are quiet. I look up from my book, he seems hesitant about my answer. "I'm good, like I said earlier, I have a few things to do after school." I reply, watching the way he rubs the back of his neck, nodding. "You still like me don't you?" His words are more of a statement then a question, but still requires an answer, they way he says it. "Yes of course Jasper alot." I blush. "Good, because I still like you a lot." Jasper says as he tackles my on my bean bag, pushing me onto it, kissing me playfully, I start giggling trying to push him off. We must of made a racket because I soon hear our warning making her way through the aisles. *Clink *Click *Clink "Shhhh...Miss Porter." I hiss between my fit of giggles, Jasper nods relenting, we both straighten and return to our books, she's red faced as she come around the shelves. "Ah ha...." She looks around confused as she spots us both reading a few feet apart, then to the another girl that's giving her a dirty look for talking. Miss Porter waves apologies and heads back the way she came, we both sigh in relief and I mouth 'thank you' to the girl at the desk, she winks in response. We read a few more minutes, flushed and grinning after our play fight, I catch Jaspers blue eyes staring over his book, he waggles his eyebrows as I blush looking away. The last bell rings, signalling home time, I place the book back on the shelf, I have my own copy at home if I want to keep reading. I stand stretching as Jasper does that same, we start walking to leave, I feel Jaspers arm around my waist, I loved this boy I thought leaning into him. We grabbed our bags from our lockers, Jasper offers to walk my to the carpark but I decline as I need to go buy a new uniform, Jasper purses his lips in disappointment at that. I start heading towards the office the uniform is purchased at the uniform shop next door. I see Mr East ahead, instantly thinking back to yesterday start clamming up, I reach for my phone in my pocket, pulling it out to feigh distraction. "I know you saw me, don't ignore me Cassiel." Mr East says as he passes me, not pausing, I only the other hand almost crumple and its an effort to keep my knees from buckling. Reaching the office, the office woman raises an eyebrow at my uniform when I explain she gets everything I ask for in my size. "1 Jacket, 1 Skirt, 2 Shirts, 1 Knit sweater, 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of pants" she said as she ticked off her list, handing me a copy as I pay with mums card. Geez uniforms expensive! I packed it all into my backpack, feeling the office woman's attention on me as I walk out the front door. Heading towards the parking lot, I see it's still half full with people taking their time, I walk through the rows till I get to the motorbikes. Luce leans against his Harley, his black hair recognisable, his golden tan even but lighter then Jaspers, as I get nearer he seems to sense my approach as he looks up from his phone. His green eyes bore into mine, my heart flutters in response, I couldn't deny he affected me, Jasper I felt safe and comfortable, Luce made my heart skip and I felt drawn. I tried to shake this thoughts as I approached, I'd barely known him a day! and I couldn't forget I was hear for answers and to be left alone. "Hey Cassie, I was starting to think you'd skipped out on me." He grinned, relief in his eyes. "No just had to get some more appropriate uniform." I lift a shoulder in a shrug, as he nods. "Well lets drop you things off home and then I'll take you out somewhere would that be alright?" Luce asks. "Yeah I'd love to drop this back pack off." I smile, he face seems to lift at my attention, he hands me his leather jacket again, and his helmet. "The one we borrowed earlier, has already gone home." he inclines to the empty spot beside us, as I nod putting the helmet on. He turns the bike over, the rumbling sending shivers of excitement through me, I swing my leg onto the bike behind him. Pulling out of the car park, I wrap my arms around Luce for security as he revs the bike, it lurches forward with a roar, It felt so right.
