They hid too much from me, and were planning to hide more, or at least my father was. The moment Elijah walked in, was the moment I could escape them, escape this. I took off running. I could feel Storm trying to force her way out, but I forced her down, trying to stay in control. I just wanted to escape from everything right now. I needed to breathe.
Everything in my life is decided for me. Sneaking into Drake’s room at night was literally the only thing I felt like I had control over. I mean yes, I am fated to mate Drake, but I have grown up with him, even if we weren’t fated, I suspect he would still have been my first kiss. My first boyfriend. I just want some control back in my life, so I can do the things I want, not have it ordained for me.
