Chapter Eight

“Ramon, you really want the truth?” “Ok I’ll tell you the truth.” “I’m attractive to both men and women, I have known this for awhile but was scared to tell Janice because I didn’t know how she would take it.” “For crying out loud Ramon I have a son and daughter who looks up to me,” “what would they think of me if I told their mother this.” Ramon takes a deep breathe and says to Corey “well first of all Aaron is only 6 months old so he really doesn’t have an opinion right now and Katie is just a little girl who loves her father no matter what.” “So the kids aren’t the one you should be worrying about, its Janice who really matter at this moment.” “I just don’t won’t to lose them;” “So Corey, what are you going to do?” “Keep my cousin in the dark,” “you need to come clean with her before Jimmy come knocking on your front door once again, he look like he is a trouble maker.” “He is and I need to get rid of him some way.” Corey says, Janice walks back downstairs and sits at the table, she grabs a glass of wine and ask "so what have you two been down here chatting about while I was gone?” Both Corey and Ramon looks at each other and says “Nothing, Corey was just telling me about you guys day at the beach, how much fun you all had." Janice smiles and nods her head and sips on her glass of wine, "Ramon I was telling Corey about the club that you work at, he said that he has never heard of it." "I was telling him how much fun we had last night for my birthday, he said he didn't know it was a gay male strip club." Ramon looks at Corey and puts his finger on his chin and says "oh he didn't, did he?" "Well one day I must take you down there Corey and let you see the place." Corey smirks at Ramon and says "I doubt it." Ramon rolls his eyes and stands up to leave, "Janice give me a hug I have to be going now, I don't want to be late for work." Janice stands up and hugs her cousin "I love you cuz, I'll call you tomorrow." Ramon says she replies back "Ok and I love you too." "Tell Katie bug I will probably come next weekend to take her to the toy store." "Ok she will love that, until you come she is going to be bugging me and asking when is uncle Ramon coming to take me to the toy store?" They both laugh Janice sits back down and gives Aaron another cracker, "alright Ramon take it easy," Corey says as he sits sipping on his wine. "Hey Corey, why don't you walk me to the door I forgot I have something in my car I want to give to Katie in my car please?" Corey gets up and walks behind Ramon, "Alright Corey cut the bullshit and tell my cousin about your other lifestyle, because I wanted to slap the hell out of you when you said you didn't know about the club." "Now is a better time than any while you two are in the kitchen talking you might want to bring it up." Ramon whispers to him "I know I need to tell her but I love her so much, I really don't know how to come out and tell her." "Ramon, how did you tell your mother and Janice that you were gay?"

Ramon looks at Corey and puts his hand on his hip and tells him "First of all Corey, I been gay since I was a little boy Janice has always known that since we were kids, so you can't compare your situation to mines and second I never has a wife and kids involved in my life so you are asking the wrong person, I'm not a husband living a secret life." "You just need to get some balls and just come out of the closet to my cousin." "Yes she probably will hate you, maybe even want to kill you but at least she will know." "See that is what I am afraid of she will hate me and the kids will hate me too," "I'm afraid but I know I do need to tell her before Jimmy shows up again, I think he is in love with me and I think he will do anything to get me." Ramon looks at Corey and tells him "You let me worry about Jimmy, mostly likely he will be at the club tonight looking for Dragon just leave him up to me, Corey I know we don't like each other but I love my cousin and I'm not going to let that bastard hurt her, I kill him first." "Thank you Ramon," "Don't be thanking me just yet, you know how you can thank me?" "Tell my cousin about you, that's the biggest thanks you can give me." Ramon walks to his car and gets $10 out of his man bag and walks back and give to Corey and tells him to take Katie and get her something nice from her favorite store until they see each other next weekend. Corey shakes his head as he watches Ramon walks back to his car gets in and drives away. Corey standing on his door step with his head down with a thousand of things going though his mind. All of a sudden Corey here's a horn blows at him, it's Jimmy he yells to him "See you tonight Dragon" and speeds off. Corey shakes his head and runs his hand across his head, he than turns and walks back inside. Janice walks out with Aaron on her hip and puts him in his play pen, "Corey, what's wrong?" Corey looks at his wife and reaches his hand out to her "Honey, I need to tell you something;" they both go and sit down on the couch, Corey takes a deep breathe and looks at Aaron who is playing with his toys. "Honey, I don't know how to tell you this but you have to promise me that you wont be upset with me," "Corey you are starting to scare me what is it?" Janice says nervously "Well what I'm to tell you I hope you will understand and I hope we can work it out some how." "Well do you remember all those months I was telling you l was working late, well the truth is I wasn't working well I was working but it wasn't at the school." "I have been working at the club where Ramon works sometimes," Janice laughs and says you couldn't work at the club that Ramon works at because the club he works at is a all male's club." Corey takes a swallow and with sweat running down the side of his head says "yes, I know" Janice snatch her hand from his and just stares at him "Why?" She ask as she stands up and walks over to the fireplace mantel; "So was China right, was that you she saw up on that stage last night; well Corey was that you?" Corey walks up to her and slowly says "yes" in a low voice, " I can't hear you Corey speak a little louder;" "Yes, yes!" "It was me she saw, I'm sorry honey please don't be mad at me." "So are you Dragon that guy came by here looking for?" "And today at the beach the guy you said that was your co-worker was that him?" "Yes, but I promise you he doesn't mean a thing to me." Janice grabs her stomach and starts to cry, "Honey, please don't cry I'm sorry but I couldn't keep hiding this from you any longer." He reaches for her she pushes him away Janice grabs Aaron out of the play pen and takes him upstairs with her. Corey just watches as his wife snobs and walk with their son up the stairs, he sits down on the couch with his face in his hands he knows that he has to tell her the rest but he sees how she is feeling about him dancing at the club, if she is upset about this how is she going to take react when he tells her that he's attractive to men also. Later that night at the strip club, Ramon is serving drinks when he looks up and sees Jimmy walks into the club, Jimmy smiles and waves to Ramon as he walks up to the bar. Ramon walks up to him, "Hey love can I have a cosmopolitan please?" Ramon looks at Jimmy with anger on his face and walks to prepare his drink; "Thanks love," Jimmy says as Jimmy starts to get up and walk away Ramon says to him "Look b***h, I don't know what's going on with you and my cousin's husband but you better stay the hell away from her and those kids, because if you ever show your face at her door step again you will have to deal with me." "Do you got that?" "Are you threating me?" Jimmy asks "No boo that's not a threat, its a promise." Ramon repleads back, Jimmy smirks at Ramon as he sips on his drink and walks away.

Ramon says to one of the other bartenders as they watch Jimmy walk away “that b***h think I’m playing with him, just try me b***h you’ll find out my bark is worst than my bite.” As he goes back to serving drinks, Jimmy walks over and sits at a table with a couple of his friends and waits for the show to start while glancing over at Ramon at the bar.

As the club preparing to close, Corey walks in and walks up to the bar to get a drink, one of the bartender serves him a drink “just leave the bottle” Corey says as Ramon walks from the back with a case of wine; he look surprise as he see Corey at the bar drinking. “No no no please tell me I’m freaking dreaming?” “Corey, what are you doing here?” “I thought you said you weren’t not coming back here again,” “I know but I needed a drink.” “And you couldn’t have that drink at your house?” Ramon ask “No, I don’t think Janice wants me there at the moment,” “So you told her?” “Yes and No,” “what do you mean yes and no?” “Well yes I told her about me dancing at the club and no I didn’t tell her about my lifestyle.” Corey says as he pours his self another drink. “Ok you have had enough,” Ramon says as he takes the bottle away from him. “Let me finish stocking the bottles and I’ll drive you home,” “what the point, your cousin hates me Ramon and now the kids are going to hate me too,” “don’t be silly, just give me a minute and don’t drink anything else please.” As Ramon turns to stock the bottles on the self and Corey head is down on the bar he hears a familiar voice saying “I’ll take him home,” as Ramon turns around and see Jimmy rubbing Corey’s hair. Corey lifts his head at the same time and grabs Jimmy hand “get your dam hand off me.” Jimmy smiles at Corey and Ramon “you didn’t say that a couple of weeks ago, you were enjoying my hand or hands on you.” “b***h,, don’t make me come over this counter at you if you don’t get your ass away from him.” Ramon replies “owww, I’m scared,” Jimmy says, the bouncer walks over “Is everything alright over here?” “Dee can you escort this person out of here please,” “why, I haven’t done anything wrong?” “He is protecting you from me, it’s to keep me from coming around this counter and beating your ass,” Jimmy looks at Ramon and Corey as the bouncer grab his arm “get your fuckin hands off me,” Jimmy snatch away from the bouncer; “alright I’ll leave, Corey baby I’ll be outside waiting on you if you need a ride.” Jimmy says as he walks away and blows Corey a kiss. “Oh that b***h is really starting to get under my skin, I just want to choke the hell out of him.” Ramon says “he’s not worth it Ramon, I’ll deal with him, I started it now I have to finish it.” Corey says as he finish his last drink in his glass. Corey gets up and walks towards the door; “Corey wait for me; I told you I would drive you home, you are in no condition to drive.” Ramon yells at him, “Dee stop him don’t let him go out that door, bring his ass back over here please.”

Dee grabs Corey and sits him back down at the bar, “you sit there and don’t move, I’m going to the back to grab a case of wine and I’ll be right back, don’t move your ass from that seat Corey; I’m not playing with you” Ramon replies. As Ramon walks to the back Corey convince one of the bartenders to give him a bottle of whiskey, as Ramon walks back from the back the front door opens and the bouncer tells the person that the club is close but to Ramon’s surprise he locks eyes with Janice.

“It’s ok Dee, you can let her in she’s here to gather her husband I hope.” Janice walks over to the bar where Corey was sitting with his head lying on the bar passed out. “Girl how did you know he was down here?” “I received a phone call from someone telling me my husband was down here causing trouble so I called Rachel to come over and watch the kids and I jumped in my car and headed down here.” “Who called and told you that lie?” “I don’t know all he said was he was a concerned friend.”

Ramon shakes his head slowly and mumbles to his self “that sneaky son of a b***h” “did you say something Ramon?” Janice ask “no I was just counting the bottles of wine cuz,” “so you said someone called you and said Corey was down here causing trouble huh?” “Yes, that is the only reason I left my kids and came down here, I didn’t won’t him going to jail and I had to bail his ass out, on top of what he has already told me tonight.” “So I take it he told you about the club?” “Yes, yes he did but wait how did you know about the club Ramon?” “Um, he told me when he got down here, why do you think he is drunk?” “So how are you feeling about that?” Ramon ask Janice “ I really don’t know what to think or feel, I was upset at first but then I was thinking he had to have a reason for him to be dancing here.” “I mean he makes great money at the college as a Professor and campus consultant, so what other reason would he be doing this?” “I really don’t know Ramon, but I need to getting home; can you help me get him to the car?” “Oh honey no, only men I help to their cars are the ones that are going home with me; but Dee can help you.” “Dee can you come and help my cousin take her property to her car please?” Dee gets up and come and picks Corey up and takes him to the car. “Thank you Ramon, I’ll call you tomorrow love you.” “Ok, take you drunk husband home and put him to bed love you more.” Ramon says as he waves to his cousin and goes back to stocking the shelves.
