As it gets late and the club starts to close Ramon is counting up his draw, he looks up and sees a very familiar face, it was Corey his cousin in law. “Corey, hey what are you doing here?” “Hey Ramon, I was just ummm I'm just here with some ummm coworker they heard about this place and wanted to check it out, at a gay club Corey?” “You do know this is a gay club, right?” "A gay male stripper club," “Yes, they said that the food here is really good, and Rico's was closed so we decided to come here and see for ourselves and have a couple of drinks.” "It was one of our ummm coworkers birthday and he ummm we wanted to take him somewhere exciting." “Well how was it?” "It was different, like nothing I have ever seen;" "I'm talking about the food Corey?" “Oh the food yes it was delicious, my complaints to the chef.” “I’ll make sure to tell him, so where are your coworkers?" "Oh they went out to get the car," "Corey, I thought you didn't drink, I don't but like I said it was one of my uh coworkers birthday." "Corey why are you nervous?" "You acting like you are on your first date and we about to kiss goodnight for the first time or something." "Nervous, I'm not nervous just tired I've been working late for the pass three months and I guess it's starting to catch up to me."
"So I heard;" Ramon looks with a (you are hiding something look on his face). "Excuse me?" "Oh nothing Ramon says." “Well I have to be going now I know Janice is worried about me and beside my friends are waiting on me, good seeing you take care.” “You too Corey, Ramon says as he goes back to counting his drawer, "hey Ramon can you do me a huge favor?" "I know me and you don’t get along but can you not mention this to Janice that you saw me here tonight.” “Now Corey, you don't like me and I dam sure don't like you and you are asking me to lie to my favorite cousin, now you know me and Janice are like brothers and sisters we don’t hide anything from each other.” "I know but I just don't want her getting upset, she is really mad at me right now because I haven't been spending alot of time with her or the kids please can you just do this one thing for me?" "Please" Ramon hesitated to answer Corey but finally gives in and says "ok, but remember you owe me; Corey turns to walk away Ramon says to him before he leaves "Corey, come here I don't want to see you in here again if I do I will tell my cousin, you got me?" Ramon whispers to Corey, Corey nods drops $20 in Ramon tip glass and walks out of the club. "I can't believe this dude got me hiding secrets from my favorite cousin, in which he knows I can't stand his ass and thinking this little $20 is going to butter me up" Ramon mumbles to himself looks around and puts the $20 dollars in his pocket. The next morning came and it was Janice's birthday, Corey got up as usual and jumped into the shower without a good morning or a happy birthday to her. He puts on his clothes gets ready for work while Janice sits on the bed and watches him, he still haven't acknowledge his wife with an good morning kiss or anything. He grabs his briefcase and heads downstairs, Janice walks behind him speechless; he grabs the coffee pot and his thermal and pours his coffee in it. He heads towards the door and Joyce finally says something to her husband, "Have you forgotten something?" Corey looks down at himself and pats his pockets and shakes his head "No, I don't think so." Janice looks so disappointed and says "you sure, you haven't forgotten anything?" Corey smiles and says "oh yeah, he walks over and gives his wife a kiss on the cheek and says; "have a nice day, I love you and don't wait up." He walks out the door and go and gets in his car as his phone starts ring again. Janice blast out in tears and says to herself "I can't believe he forgot my birthday," Janice sits at the table for awhile thinking about her husband while the kids are in their room playing.
