“Doctor Stevens.” someone called out to me as I enter the hospital's lobby and when I look back, I see my intern running towards me.

“Good morning Dr. Karen.” I said greeting him.

“Good morning too. So how di it go yesterday?” He said looking at me in a way I could not read.

“It went well. Thank you for helping out.” I said giving him a pat on his shoulder.

“It was a pleasure and looking forward of feeling it again.” He said with a smirk now.

“Feel what?” I said clarifying.

“The pleasure of helping you out playing hide and seek with Dr. Altman.” He said as his smirk grows into a playful one.

I glare at him but still I know he sees me with a blushing cheeks because he chuckle even though I am glaring at him as heard as I could.

“Do want to me to make you practice your stitches? I could make a special recommendation for you.” I said with stern voice trying to match my hardened look towards him.

He shut himself, stopped from chuckling all at once before he said “Sorry, I am sure you have your own reasons.” As he opens the door to my 8ffice where we both enter.

“Leave the charts and go. I will call you when it is time for rounds.” I said putting down my bags as soon as we got in. He followed my command and leave at once with a low bang of my door.

Only then I sat on my seat and look at the ceiling leaning my head and thought of what happened yesterday.

FLASH BACK

The drive did not took that long, surprisingly. As we arrived in the hospital's parking lot and Henry said “I guess I will see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, see you tomorrow.” I said back with a small smile looking into him before we both climb down of the car, at the very same time like in sync even when we both took our bags from the passenger seats, it felt somehow amusing because even opening and closing the doors, we did it at the same time.

“Take care on your way there and say hi to Kevin for me.” He said walking towards me clicking the car key, locking it.

“Thanks. Hope you get a good case today.” I said back opening my car that I did not notice until I look on my right side where it is parked.

He smile and said “Thanks. And yeah I hope too.” He said before leaning forward towards me and giving my cheek a light peck that surprise me. Surprised me enough not to notice that he has already took few steps away from me.

I stare at his back until it becomes smaller in every steps he takes away from me and kept on daze even until he vanishes from my sight.

“Ding.” A sound woken me up from my phone. A message from my brother asking me how I am.

But instead of replying to his message, I quickly called someone.

“Where are you?” I said when I heard that my called has been answered.

“In the lobby. Waiting for my to do list.” Karev said who is on the other line.

“Good. I want you to keep an eye to Dr. Altman. Tell me his current position, post every minute and every move.” I said before sitting in my car.

“But I have your rounds.” He said.

“Dinner on me tomorrow night. Just do it with his intern.” I said trying to Mae a deal with him.

“OK then. He is here.” He said.

“Where?” I said. Beside me. “Good morning Dr. Altman.” He added greeting Henry I guess.

“Good morning Dr. Karev. Be careful, it is too early for you to be holding and talking to someone with your phone.” Henry said. I could clearly hear him.

“It is Dr. Stevens, giving me instructions for today. Which surprised me as I thought you two would be together today.” Karev said unnecessarily. I want to yell at him and curse him.

“How did you know about that?” Henry said sounding so surprised. I could imagine the look on his face that somehow made me smile.

“Your intern, I mean ex intern is a man who loves gossips.” Karev said with a playful tone.

“Is that so? Then tell him to come into my office when you see him and please stop gossiping. You guys are all men. It is not really your kind of habit, or should be. Get your instruction quick and start it right away.” Henry said in an angry tone. I chuckle hearing him with my imagination busy picturing him.

“Yes.” Karev said with a trace of fright in his voice that made it even funnier.

“He walks away now. Towards the elevator.” Karev said and only then I let out a sound full giggle that I felt like did not only echoed in my car but also in the whole parking lot.

“OK. Then follow him. Tell me which floor he got off.” I said back after my giggles.

“Wait! What?” Karev said.

“You heard me loud and clear. Now!” I exclaimed.

I vaguely heard him cursing that followed by him catching his breath after a few minutes. I decided to hang up the call and text him with “Message me or you will going to be killed by me or by the chief. Because I will keep on calling you if you do not.” Wearing an evil smile as I tap the sentence button.

Only after that I climb down my car taking only my purse and leaving my hand bag full of documents and started walking towards the entrance of the hospital. I am thankful that I love taking a walk whenever I could, it helped me to find a way to avoid everyone as my therapist is only in the same hospital.

“Dr. Stevens. If I remembered correctly, you need an appointment FEW DAYS before that date you wanted to.” My therapist said as soon as I open her office's door after a few knock.

“I am so sorry Dr. Yang. It is just that something happened which made me feel like I need an urgent moment with you.” I said back while looking at her full of fright. Having those kind of eyelids that should make her eyes small, but for some reason they look big right now as she glares at me.
