You're not like the other girls around here," Damien said, trying to flatter her. Isa snorted. "That's because I'm not afraid to speak my mind. Unlike some people, who shall remain nameless." Damien chuckled, feeling a little stung. "Hey, I can take it. I'm a big boy." Isa smiled, a small, mischievous smile. "I'm sure you are, Damien. But can you handle the truth?" Damien's heart raced a little faster. No one had ever challenged him like this before. He was used to being the one in control, the one with the power. But with Isa, he felt like he was on shaky ground. "I can handle it," he said, trying to sound confident. Isa laughed, a throaty, husky sound. "We'll see about that." And with that, she walked off, leaving Damien feeling like he'd just been hit by a tornado.
