Hansel's POV

After announcing my engagement with my friends truly happy for us,I expected everything related to my wedding to run smoothly but it isn't going as expected. My friends just can't seem to get along. First it was just the girls having issues related to who gets to be in the bridal party and a bridesmaid then it escalated to involve two of my close buddies having a row.There is still the aniexty my fiancee and I get when we think of telling our parents about this but after much consideration we decided to do it together.Informing my family about our engagement was pretty easy until my mom and sister tried taking over the wedding planning which my fiancee wasn't going to allow.We informed Joy's mom about our engagement and right now she is arguing with her mom, rejecting idea of her step dad walking her down the aisle.

"No mum,just drop it cause I would never agree to it,he is not my dad plus we don't really have a close relationship" Joy said and since the phone is still on loud speaker,I heard her mom say "Can't you see that it is disrespectful to me for you to exclude my husband,he has been cordial anytime you talk to him on phone so what more do you want"her mom asked "While I don't hate your husband mom,I just feel someone who has played that role in my life should walk me down the aisle"Joy said "I know if your dead beat loser of a dad was still alive you would have given me the greatest form of disrespect by having him do that for you cause you just can't seem to appreciate whatever I've done for you" her mom replied "Did you have to bring my biological father into this, isn't that being petty when you know I also had no relationship with him till his death and neither did he try,and when have I ever acted ungrateful" Joy asked with her voice breaking and her mom scoffed saying "I know you are doing better financially so why haven't you reached out to your siblings, gotten them gifts or even assisted me,you know I'm pregnant and you haven't offered any assistance plus you are cutting my husband,your father off your wedding plans all because you are with a rich white boy".I was shocked to hear this but I tried to remain calm still,since I knew Joy was fuming and this wasn't going to end well at all with the both of us pissed. "Really, where were you all through my high school years? you were too busy flying out with your boyfriend,you missed even my graduation for one of those trip and Jerry who was still your boyfriend then never acknowledged my existence,when you got married I was in college,I wasn't even invited mom!I was ignored by you, the minute you got your cozy little family you cut me off"Joy said angrily "You should be grateful for all I did,I did my best given the circumstances of your birth,I had no one and your dad virtually disappeared,I had other options other than giving birth to you but I did and you should be grateful,I also put a roof over your head,fed and clothed you for eighteen f*****g years, so if I tried having a life of my own,I should be allowed, besides it's not like you were lonely when I travelled,you had your friends,you were always tight with that girl Natalie and her family"her mom replied "So it was ok for me not to get an invite to your wedding, for not being allowed to visit you in your new home, and not even given the opportunity to speak to your kids but now you are asking for all these" Joy said exhausted while I hugged her from behind "They are children who don't understand things,we didn't want them asking too many questions about you, like who are you,why don't you stay with us and so on,we wanted them to be a little older before explaining which we did but you just stopped reaching out which wasn't our fault,Jerry is estatic and maybe him walking you down the aisle would be a great way for you guys to build a strong relationship Joy"her mom replied but my fiancee was already crying "No, it's not going to happen, Natalie's dad is walking me down the aisle.You all are invited to my wedding and can decide to come or not but that it. Goodnight mom"Joy said before cutting the call crying "It's ok sweetie, it's going to fine trust me"I said "I just need a little more time,I just think we should move the wedding forward a bit,I'm just too stressed up,my friends are fighting, our parents are angry and it's just not how I want it to be"she said "I really don't want to move it,but if you are too stressed then we should"I replied,we agree to move it two months forward but we are still going to see Natalie's parents this week.

As we all drove down to see Natalie's parents that weekend,I was really hoping everything goes smoothly since Nathan and Natalie are now together,yes Cathy is still cranky and having mood swings but their relationship is fine,I only began worrying when Andre brought Rita and Nora tagged along with Nathan.I was thrilled to find out that Judah's parents are pretty laid back but still displined.I smile as they hugged my fiancee congratulating her before turning to us "Now you have to formally introduce the young man to us,quit stalling"Mrs Jackson said "This is my fiance Hansel James,he is the love of my life,he is pretty much reserved most times which I also love about him,and sweetheart this is Mr and Mrs Jackson my adoptive parents" Joy said happily "It's is a pleasure to meet you both" I said while they smiled "He has to be a bit reserved to deal with your drama joyful, welcome son"Mrs Jackson said "It's wonderful to see you all grown and happy, welcome to the family young man but if you hurt her I would kick you out with bruises all over so don't f*****g think I've lost my abilities" Mr Jackson said but Natalie cut in "Daddy that is totally uncalled for" "Shut the hell up young lady,ya'all may claim to be adults out there but when you step into this house,you are my babies, including you Dre acting all grown up" Mr Jackson while Andre quickly replied "Yes sir" "Mumsy I'm starving"Cathy said "I told you this young man doesn't know how to look after his woman,see he brought her here starving" Mr Jackson told his wife "Dad stop it,she has been eating snacks all through the journey here" Judah said defensively "That ain't food young man, you need to start acting right,else you wouldn't be getting married anytime soon" Mrs Jackson said pulling Cathy to the kitchen with Natalie laughing at Judah who was scratching his head.

"Young lady quit laughing and show me your man,cause I'm sick and tired of the drama surrounding your relationship" Mr Jackson said while Natalie freezed and Judah began laughing "Nat,you look star struck"he said laughing some more "Dad Judah is being mean,shut the hell up Jude" Natalie said "Hello Mr Jackson, I'm Nathan Johnson, Natalie boyfriend, and I'm really sorry about everything that went down while we were dating"Nathan said "Young man,I get your family are some hot shot but from now on,I won't allow this stupidity go on anymore,If any of you hurt my daughter,s**t is going to go down"Mr Jackson said "Also inform your mum,I won't be taking s**t from her anymore,I was really hoping you guys would just move on peaceful but no,it seems both of you get a fix from having messy breakups" Mrs Jackson said as she walked back with Cathy who was eating "Mum please,it would mean alot to me if you and dad just try to be a little bit more understanding" Natalie said "Sure Nat,we would try that but if he or any of his family members hurt you again,we are definitely getting involved" Mr Jackson said "All the same welcome to our home Nathan and who is the young lady beside you Dre" Mrs Jackson asked "This is Rita Wilson my girlfriend mum,Rita this is my Mumsy" Andre said "It's a pleasure to meet you ma, I hope we all get along and I got you a gift"Rita said all hyped up "oh thanks" Mrs Jackson said.The evening went on smoothly from that moment on but Judah and Cathy left to spend the night at her parents place.I sensed tension with the girls but Nathan and I brushed it off till we got the shock of our lives the next day.

Apparently as I predicted Nora and Rita were having issues and it all escalated the next day when Nora who was helping Mrs Jackson set the table for dinner while Andre brought the the food out,we walked to meet Rita pissed, accusing Nora of inserting herself where she isn't wanted.They were having a screaming match while Mr Jackson tried to calm both parties down,that was until they got physical.After pulling them apart Nora went upstairs with the girls and Andre pulled Rita upstairs too.I was shocked to hear them start quarrelling again while Nathan and I watched from downstairs, Rita tried to push Nora but Cathy blocked her which led to her being pushed down the stairs.Cathy was pretty much fine at first until she stood up and we found her bleeding.

We all went into panic mood with Joy and Natalie crying.Apparently we had to rush Cathy to the hospital and as my fiancee cried she kept repeating that we had to move our wedding,while we all tried to make her calm down,I ended up telling everyone there we've moved our wedding but rather than two months forward,we agreed to move it four months ahead of our previous date making our wedding six months from now.I was so pissed,I just needed my friends to act right for once but they all had to contribute to my wedding being postponed.I was at my lowest and felt nothing could get worse anymore until the doctor came to inform us about Cathy.The drama started again,this time it was even more messy, Cathy's parents kept screaming while Judah cried.Rita kept apologizing and Nathan was hell bent on destroying Rita.The night was a total disaster.
