Distaste

Ethan POV: I was so hot headed that maybe I had made a mistake. I sat at the dinner table on my father's right as my mother sat on his left. We waited for our guest to arrive. My father pretended to be going over some documents which meant that he clearly had not forgiven me for my outburst earlier when I threatened to mark Selena if they forced her to under go such harassment and my mother kept glancing up at me every few minutes, probably trying to figure out if Selena is my mate. I needed to be careful, I was already walking on thin ice but now the ice seems to have little cracks in them and one wrong move and that will be for both of us. The heavy doors opened and I used every ounce of my will power to not look up and pretend to still be deep in thought. I could smell her citrus scent slightly hidden under all the other fruity scents she was wearing. I could hear the heels that were chipping away at me, begging me to look. My mother continued to watch me like a hawk. My father had put down the documents, "Selena," noted my father in his steely cold voice, I looked up as he addressed her and felt my blood pressure spike. She was dressed in a slutty french maid uniform, her long red hair was twisted into an intricate bun of some sort and her eyes were down cast, "you must be wondering why we summoned you here," said my father, his eyes briefly glancing at me before continuing, "we have a guest visiting and he would very much like the entertainment of someone..." he paused as his eyes undressed her, "like you." My mother wasn't too pleased by his over attentive behavior to Selena, "so why am I here?" I asked aloud, "simple, I wanted to get to the bottom of something," said my mother as she looked at me and let her eyes trail to Selena, hardening as they did. Why did they hate her so much? "Go on then," I said as I feigned boredom, "Selena, however, can't be serving you for the whole night, she is my servant and she needs to do her job!" My father ignored my words without even giving me a look as his eyes remained glued to her, "Selena, I Alpha August of the Eastern Moon Pack command you to tell me nothing but the truth, are you and Ethan mates?" My heart stopped at the question, "father!" I shouted but he waved me off dismissively as everyone waited eagerly for her answer, "no, I don't think so." Her response seemed to deflate the stress that had built up without my knowledge. "We see," said my mother more calmly, "have you and Ethan been intimate?" Asked my father, again using his authority as Alpha to force the truth out of her, her eyes bore into his as she answered, "no." It was like all the tension in the room had disappeared. "May I say something," said Selena all of a sudden, reminding my parents of her presence, they both looked up, equally shocked by her boldness, "what is it?" Asked my father as his eyes glanced at the door behind us. Who was he waiting for? "I would like to be removed from Alpha Ethan's service," she stated plainly and with more confidence than I had in my little pinky, my mother chuckled, "why would you ask such a horrid thing?" The distaste for my parents kept growing, no matter how hard I tried to shake the feeling. "Well, firstly, I don't appreciate the drama that I am constantly dragged into now and secondly, look at me!" Her voice raised with frustration, "I don't want this! I would rather take my single mattress over luxury if it meant peace of mind!" To say my parents were shocked by her boldness would be an understatement. They were electrocuted and frozen in place and just in time as the heavy doors swang open and everyone's head turned. My parents both rose and my mother urged me with her eyes to do the same.
