Todd didn’t particularly want Nick to take on Benning, and he knew from the look on Nick’s face his silent order to stop had been seen. Seen and ignored. Damn pigheaded kid. Todd was going to have serious words with Nick and possibly kick his ass for what he was about to try. Those feelings warred with and lost to the pride and relief Todd felt.
The only course open to Todd at this point was to help his young mate—and live so Todd could dole out that ass kicking.
Shouting those two words at Benning caused him to put his back completely to the door and face Todd.
