Chapter 1
Aliya’s POV
The familiar buzz of the streets brought an annoying groan to my lips. Even after spending ten years here, it still didn’t feel like home.
There was something about werewolves that just annoyed me even though I was one of them. I guess you can say that I don’t identify as one since I grew up in the Lycan Kingdom but had to leave since I wanted to study fashion in France.
I can still remember the face of mother when I told her about my plans of studying outside the Lycan Kingdom. Both her and Dad weren’t happy with the idea because they knew how much the werewolves hated my family.
My family and the royal family of the Lycan Kingdom are basically one family. I have known Aunt Melissa and Uncle Julian who are the king and queen of the Lycan Kingdom my whole life. Because of this, the werewolves saw my family as traitors and sought to kill us.
All the efforts Uncle Julian made to make peace with the werewolves we’re all fruitless as they continued to send threats to my parents.
When I decided to school is France, I knew that my life would be at stake so, I had to let go of my family name and live like I had no family.
Here in Paris, I go by the name, Iris Summers.
I make into my apartment and immediately, my phone rings. I pick it up without checking who it is because I know that there is only one person who would call me right now.
“Iris!!” Raquel’s tiny voice almost bursts my eardrums.
“Goodness, Raquel! I’m only twenty four, you know. I’m not ready to start visiting a doctor everyday.” I say and I hear her laugh from the other line.
When I get into my room, I see that I had already packed most things for my journey back home.
Yes, home.
After ten years of studying here in Paris, I am finally returning to the Lycan Kingdom.
That explained why I was in high spirit. I only see my parents through video calls and when they manage to sneak into Paris.
Oh, how I missed Aunt Melissa and Uncle Julian. I’m sure they are already waiting for me to return. All of them. Including… him.
I wonder if he misses me. What if he has a mate now and has totally forgotten about me. I know we were best of friends but it’s been ten years since we last spoke so I won’t be surprised.
‘Focus, Aliya. This is not the time to think about Jayden.’
“I came up with a terrific idea since you’ll be leaving Paris in a few hours.” Raquel said and a groan left my lips.
“What is it?” I ask, knowing that whatever idea Raquel had come up with would involve us waking up tomorrow with a headache.
“So… there’s this new club in town.” She starts and I sigh loudly.
I f*****g knew it!
“Raquel!”
“Just listen to me, okay. It’s a new club and I hear that the owner is a literal Greek God. Funny thing is that he is your age.” She says and I nod nonchalantly, not really understanding how that piece of information concerned me.
“You have a boyfriend, Raquel. Should you really be ogling someone else.” I laugh, crashing on the bed.
“Hey, hey…I didn’t say I like him. Besides, I haven’t actually seen him before. It’s just the rumors that describe him that way.” She defends.
“Oh and, I also heard that he is as cold as ice. Basically gives off Alpha vibes. I’m sure if we check well, we’ll find out that he’s an Alpha.” She continues blabbing about this stranger that we have never met.
“To cut the long story short, you just want me to come to the club this night, right?” I sum it up for her.
“Exactly. It’s going to be like a goodbye party for you. Jacob and Evan would be there too.” She says and I nod.
“See you in a few hours then.” I say and end the call before closing my eyes to take a ‘ short nap ’.

“How on earth are you even late to your our own farewell party!” Raquel yelled, bursting my eardrums as soon as I entered the club.
Somehow, the loud music blasting through the large speakers weren’t enough to cover her voice.
“I know, I know. I’m sorry.” I say, rolling my eyes at her loud behavior.
Remember when I talked about having a short nap? Well, it wasn’t exactly a short nap because when I opened my eyes, It was already 9:30, which meant that I was thirty minutes late for the party.
Not my fault if you ask me.
Raquel waves her hand in the air and pulls me through the crowd to find the others.
As soon as we get to the VIP corner, a smile creeps up my face as I see my boyfriend, Evan sitting with the others.
“Hey, babe.” He says and stands up to give me a hug before pressing a small kiss to my lips.
Evan is a soon to be Alpha of an unknown pack. For some reason, he has refused to tell me or any other person what pack he will be leading as he wants it to be a surprise.
We wouldn’t have known that he had Alpha blood if it weren’t for our wolf senses. I was the first to pick up his Alpha scent and had to make him say it himself.
Evan and I started dating two years ago even though we aren’t Mates. Although he has promised to mark me as his mate when the time is right but I don’t really feel comfortable about the idea knowing fully well that my fated mate is still out there somewhere.
“I can’t believe you’ll be leaving, Iris. Who’s going to take me shopping and get me free stuffs?” Raquel whined, leaning on her boyfriend, Jacob Conner.
“Is that all I am to you?” I say, faking a gasp and she nods causing us to laugh.
I hastily gulp a glass of whiskey, ignoring the warnings from my friends.
I came out here to party with them one last time and I plan on doing that properly.
“You haven’t told us where your relatives live. How are we going to pay you a visit?” She asks, taking a sip of her drink and I tense up for a few seconds before recollecting myself and giving her a shrug.
“It’s a surprise.” I say and take a sip of the whiskey in front of me.
“I’ll be back.” I excuse myself and run to the bathroom, my feet dragging against the tiles.
“Be careful!” Evan yells but I wave him off, telling him that I am not drunk.
Isn’t that what every drunk person says?
Evan offers to take me to the bathroom but I push him away, assuring him that I only had a few glasses of whiskey.
While completely forgetting that I am a total lightweight and can barely handle two glasses of alcohol.
Well, s**t!
I barely get to the bathroom when I crash into a wall.
“Shit.” I curse but then realize that it wasn’t actually a wall but a body. A masculine body.
I force my eyes to look up despite how shitty I feel and when I do that, I feel the air seep out of me. It has to be the alcohol in my system because how else do I explain being face to face with Jayden Sage.
His grey eyes and thin lips give him away. I see that his hair had grown longer and was now similar to that of his father which was long but his was back in a small bun.
He still had the same face from ten years ago but a matured version.
Jayden is the crown prince of the Lycan Kingdom and is also my childhood friend…was my childhood friend.
Anyways, I’ll get into the details later.
What is he doing in France?
It’s definitely the alcohol.
“E-e-excuse me.” I say to the bulky looking man who looked so much like Jayden and attempt to run away when he grabs my arm and pulls me back.
“Aliya?” His deep voice sends chills down my spine and butterflies erupt in my stomach. The same damn feeling I have every time I speak to him on the phone.
Well, that only happened for four years because he suddenly stopped picking my calls.
“f**k, you’re wasted.” He says, his eyes raking my body.
Is he really Jayden? How on earth is this possible?
“Jayden? Why are you here? And who do you look so different?” I carry my hands to his face but since I had to stand on my toes as I was to short of his 6ft7 frame, I end up losing my balance and crashing on his hard chest.
“Woah.. you are different. In a good f*****g way.” I say, tracing my hands along his chest and sizing up his large muscles.
“Stop it, Aliya. You’re drunk.” He groans, his voice lacking the warmth they once had when we were younger.
“I am.. which is why I want to kiss you so bad, Jayden.” I pout, looking at his lips.
“I miss you.” The alcohol was giving me the boldness I needed to talk to Jayden and I was really thankful.
For a second, his expression softens but he quickly covers it up and returns to his cold self.
“Shouldn’t you be on your way to the Lycan Kingdom, Aliya? What are you doing getting wasted?” He asked, bringing out his dominant side and f**k, it was sexy as hell!
I bite my lips and lower my head when I suddenly remember that he had no right to tell me that.
“It doesn’t concern you, Jayden! We stopped being friends a long time ago.” I say, pointing at his face even though it hurt like hell to admit that.
Something tells me to stop talking but the alcohol in my system wasn’t letting me use my head.
“You know what? I have a boyfriend now. I don’t f*****g need you in my life.” I spew out before I can stop myself and his jaw hardens. I see jealousy flash in his eyes before he quickly masks it and pulls my chin up to meet his.
“I don’t f*****g care about you you’re dating Aliya.” He said and I feel my heart shatter into a million pieces.
I have never been so happy to be having a conversation while drunk as I am right now. At least I won’t remember his harsh words.
“Then leave!” I say, staring at his grey eyes.
“You didn’t let me finish.” He says and places his thumb on my lips and leans into my ears.
“I don’t care about who you date because at the end of the day, you belong to me.”
