Chapter 5 Jasper's POV After the treaty was signed, I shook the alpha's hand and then took off with Hayes and Berk. The guards hurried to the car because they knew I was in a hurry. We were driving out of their pack lands when I got a call on my cell. Looking at it, I saw that it was my sister. I hurried to answer it; it might be that Laura woke up and was now waiting for me to get home so we could talk. "Hey Mila, what’s the update? Is she okay? Is she awake?" There was a pause, a long pause on the phone. Then she answered me, but it wasn't the answer that I wanted. "Jasper, I only stepped out for a few minutes. There was a young child who got hurt; her mother was crying, so I stepped out to try to help. When I got back to Laura's room, she was gone. It looked like she took the IV out and the tubes off of her. The gown she was wearing was on the floor, and all the cabinet doors were open. Whoever it was took the clothes I brought for her just in case she did wake up. She took off, Jasper. The alarms started going off because the guards thought there was a rogue on our land. They chased her all the way to the road. One of the guards saw her get into a car. She must have been so scared when she woke up and no one was in her room." I didn't give her time to finish when I screamed into the phone. “WHAT THE H3LL DO YOU MEAN SHE IS GONE, YOU MEAN TO TELL ME SHE WOKE UP AND RAN OFF TO GODDESS KNOWS WHERE AND NOONE KNOWS WHERE THE H3LL SHE WENT, ARE YOU f*****g CRAZY FOR LEAVING,, YOUR DAMN RIGHT SHE MUST HAD BEEN SCARED, I SHOULD HAD NEVER f*****g LEFT, I SHOULD HAD NEVER TRUSTED YOU WITH HER, I WILL DEAL WITH YOU WHEN I GET HOME!” I knew I was rough, but I was pissed off. I wasn't there when she woke up; I wasn't there by her side. But why would she run away? This is her home; she lived there. People there trusted her to be their Luna. Something must have really scared her to run away like this. “Human, you shouldn't have yelled at your sister like that. She was helping a child," my leopard Clem said. "She was only trying to help, but we need to find mate.” “I know, Clem. I will deal with my sister later. I need to get to the hospital and see if I can find any clues to where she was going. I’m not worried about Mila right now,” I said, sighing as I sat back. I was so much on edge right now. Something weird is going on. She wouldn't have just woken up after a three-year coma and run off. This is just crazy. When it usually takes two hours to get back home, it only takes an hour and a half. Hayes was driving fast, and I was thankful for that. I hurried to get out of the car; I ran to the hospital into her room. And sure enough, she was not lying in the bed. I looked all around the room; there were no clues of force or anything. She just walked right out of the room. Where the hell was everyone? Steven came into the room. So you tell me there was no one in the hallway that saw her. Where the h3ll was all your f*****g staff at, Stevens?” “Alpha, most of the nurses went home. It was the end of their shift. We had two nurses that were helping a little girl that got hurt. There was no one here. They didn't need my help so I didn't come. I'm truly sorry. I didn't know she was waking up today. If I had known, I would have been there.” “I want to see the video for tonight right now. Get your ass in there and hand me the f*****g videos. And don't lie to me. I know you have cameras in the rooms to watch them. I've seen them. Get them now!” He hurried away to his office to get the videos. Then it took a bit, but he came back with them. He had several in his hand. I took them back to my house. Hayes and Berk were with me. Jasper, Mila will be at the house when you get here. She made dinner. Don't be too hard on her; it's not her fault. I didn't pay any mind to Berk. All I wanted to do is see what happened when I was gone. I smelled the food when I walked into my house. I saw Mila pacing in my kitchen. I got the laptop out of my office and walked into the kitchen, placing it on the table, then placing the first video in the slot. I kicked play. The first one was in the entrance, where a child was being walked in with her mother. Both of them were crying. I saw Mila come out the door with a worried look on her face. She walked back inside the room. A few minutes later, she came back out and took the little girl in her arms, walking them to a room. Okay, my sister was telling the truth, but why did she go back into the room? I watched for a few more minutes. Only two nurses rushed into the room that Mila took the mother and child. Then the video ended. There were only two more—one in Laura's room and one outside the entrance. Here we go. I put the second one in that was inside Laura's room. We watched as the machines started to light up. Suddenly, her eyes opened up. When I saw that, my heart started beating fast. She's awake! Was she scared? Was she scared that no one was there? My eyes were stuck to the screen. She sat up, looking around with a scared look on her face. She took out the IV and then the wires from the heart monitor. She stood up with wobbly legs, looking out the door to her room, then started looking through all the cabinets. She hurried to get dressed. How could she go through the woods without any shoes on? Damn it! Then, the next one was when she was running out of the room door. I hurried to change it. I felt like if I could see where she was going, I could follow her scent. The front door camera showed her running. The camera followed her to the woods. I saw my warriors shift. I think they thought it was a rogue. I knew the alarms started to go off by then. It's the reason why they came and shifted. They ran into the woods, and that's when the video ended. Damn it! Where the hell did she go? I sighed, putting my head into my hands. I was trying to calm down. Brother, This is my fault, I'm sorry that she ran, if i would have stayed in the room she would still be in the room. I wanted to blame her I really did, but it wasn't my sisters fault, the doctor said she would be waking up soon, we just didn't know what it was going to happen, i blame my self, i couldn't blame anyone else but myself, I want the warrior here that said they saw her get into a car, i want them here like yesterday, do you hear me, get them here right now! My sister was trying to make me eat something, she knew if i ate i would calm down, so i tried to eat the spaghetti that she cooked, it was really good, i ate two plates when the two warriors showed up in my kitchen, they stood at attention, i was more calm now after i ate, i stood from my chair, Brother, this is my fault. I'm sorry that she ran. If I had stayed in the room, she would still be in the room. I wanted to blame her, I really did, but it wasn't my sister's fault. The doctor said she would be waking up soon; we just didn't know what was going to happen. I blame myself. I couldn't blame anyone else but myself. I want the warrior who said they saw her get into a car here like yesterday. Do you hear me? Get them here right now! My sister was trying to make me eat something. She knew if I ate, I would calm down. So, I tried to eat the spaghetti she cooked. It was really good. I ate two plates when the two warriors showed up in my kitchen. They stood at attention. I was calmer now after eating. I stood from my chair. "Which one of you saw her get into the car? Was she hurt? Did she look hurt?" It was Bell who answered me right away. She looked scared, but she also knew I was upset in a calm way. "Sir, when we realized she wasn't a rogue but indeed the Luna, we tried catching up to her. She was running so fast. Even in human form, she was faster than us. She got to the road, kept on running, and we were almost to her when a car stopped, and she hurried to get inside. After that, we lost her, sir." I listened to Bell carefully, making sure I heard her every word. Where could she be? I tried mindlinking her. Maybe she will talk to me if I do this. "Laura honey, this is Jasper. I know you're scared right now. I'm sorry I wasn't there when you woke up, but I'm here now. Please come back or tell me where you are, and I will come to you." I didn't hear back for a few minutes, and then I heard her. She sounded really off. "Jasper, if that's your name, I don't know who you are. I'm not telling you where I am at. No one was even in the room to tell me what the hell was going on, why I was there, how long I was there, how I got hurt. Do not link me again." I tried again, but she blocked me. I wondered if she had her phone on her. I called it, but I heard it ring in the house. f**k, I tossed my phone down. This is f*****g crazy
