Blurb

The curse of the lycan had tormented the city of Oakwood for generations. Every full moon, the city people would keep their doors locked, and pray that the beast pass them by.

But one night, the curse took another dimension. A young man named Derek began to experience unknown changes in his mind and body, making him question everything he knew about his world and himself.

Blurb: In the city of Oakwood, rumor has it that there's a dark curse circulating for years.

But when Derek started experiencing strange changes, he and his friend, Alison, decided to uncover the truth behind the dark curse.

They will encounter mysterious creatures, betrayal, and secrets along the way which may be the key to everything.

Before the curse consumes them, will they be able to break it?

Derek starts to lose himself as the curse becomes stronger.

Alison tries to find a way to save him but it is not working because the mysterious creature has many dangerous plans for them.

As the story continued, Alison discovered that the curse was more dangerous and complicated than she ever imagined.

She saw that it was about the history of Oakwood City itself not just about Derek alone.

Alison began to go to dark places for a solution and also forced herself to confront her deepest fears.

Would she be able to break the curse before it is too late? Even if she does, won't it cost her life and Derek's?

Chapter One
Derek already told his friend Alison about the strange changes he has been experiencing. Alison was a jovial and level-headed person, and she never judged him for what he was experiencing. She offered to follow him to the local healer's cottage. Together, they set out for the healer's cottage, anticipating to find a solution and a cure for Derek's strange changes."Emma smirks at Derek and Alison as they are coming towards him. "You two look sad," he says. "What's the problem?" Derek doesn't want to answer him at first, not sure if he should trust his brother on his matter. But Alison spoke up. “Derek has been noticing some strange changes in his body," she says. "We're going to the healer hoping he can help." Emma's smirk grows bigger. “I'm sure the healer can help," he says. "But be careful - his methods are… odd." Alison and Derek looked at one another, not sure of what Emma was saying. But they moved forward to the healer's cottage, determined to find the solution to their problem. As they kept walking, Alison looked at Derek and said, "I know you're thinking about what Emma said, don't worry, all is well, I'm here for you," she said. "Whatever happens, we'll figure it out together." Derek thanked Alison for her support, and he took comfort in her words. Finally, they reached the healer's cottage. It's a small, local structure, with a scattered roof and a vegetable garden at the front of the house. A sign was hung over the door, reading "Healer's Cottage." Alison and Derek exchange a weird look, and then they decide to knock on the door. After a moment, the door opened, revealing an old man with white hair and piercing green eyes. He looked at Alison and Derek, and he smiled at them. "Welcome," he said. "I'm Marco, the only healer in this village. Please, come inside." Alison and Derek follow him inside the cottage, and the old man leads them to the center of the room where there's a table. "Please, sit," he said. "Tell me what you came for." Alison and Derek sat down, and they began explaining what had been happening to them. Marco was listening attentively to them, his eyes never left their faces."That's quite a big story,” he said when they were done talking."It seems what you are dealing with is out of the ordinary. But be rest assured, I will help you. Let's start by figuring out the cause of the sudden strange changes." He stood up from where he was sitting and walked to a big shelf full of leather-bound books. He deliberated on the title to pick for a moment before he decided to pull one down from the shelf. He brought it back to the table and opened it to one certain page. "This is the right place to start from, he said”. "According to the book in your front, the sudden changes you are experiencing are that of a werewolf. But let's not jump to conclusion, let's see if there's a possibility of another symptom." He looked at Derek. "When did you start experiencing these changes?" he asked. Derek went silent for a moment. "It started like a month ago," he said. "I started feeling uncomfortable and irritable, and I started having dangerous dreams. And then, a few weeks ago, I noticed that my fingernails were growing longer and sharper." Marco nodded, taking notes of what he was saying."That's very interesting,” he said.“What about the way you eat? Have you been taking anything unusual?” “I have been eating my normal food, nothing unusual,” Derek said. “Have you been strolling around inside the woods lately?” Marco asked. “Umm, yes,” Derek answered him.“I've been going almost every day for a stroll in the woods.” Marco nodded again. “That piece of information is very important,” he said.“The woods are a great place of mystery and history, and it probably seems you have been affected by something you encountered there.” “So I'm going to give you a necklace that will shield you from evil attacks for the time being,” Marco said. “Will the necklace shield him from the wolf and dark curse too?” Alison asked. “Yes, it will,” Marco answered. “But not all the time” Derek and Alison thanked the old man and left his cottage. Derek and Alison were talking on their way home from the healer's cottage. Derek could sense a dark energy around them. He has been feeling it since they left the old man's cottage. He faced Alison and said, “Is anyone following us?” Alison looked at him confused, “No one is following us,” she answered. “Is everything okay with you?” She asked, looking at him weirdly. He answered and said, “Everything is okay, let's continue our journey.”Unknown to them, the mysterious creature has been following them since they left the healer's cottage. Derek got home alone because Alison had departed to her own house. He got inside his room and slept on the bed thinking about the kind of dark energy he felt on their way home. He thought about it until he slept off. Not quite long from the time he slept, he started having this dangerous dream. He was sweating all over his body struggling to open his eyes until he fell off the bed. He opened his eyes immediately and fell off the bed looking at his surroundings. He dreamt that he was being attacked by a mysterious being. He looked at the necklace he collected from the man, “Is this going to work at all?” He asked himself. No one was around to answer the rhetorical question. He stood up and went out. He decided to go inside the woods to get some fresh air. He went into the forest, the moon was high and shining bright in the sky. He has forgotten it's the full moon tonight. As he stepped into the forest, he could feel the darkness surrounding him like they were closing in on him. The shadows were whispering to him when he heard a low mournful howl. He froze, his heart was beating very damn fast. He has forgotten it's the full moon tonight. Then he saw it - a large dark-shaped shape mysterious creature moving through the trees. The dark energy he felt when he and Alison were coming home, he felt it again.
