Jason's curiosity soared and he remembered that his secretary said that he was was expecting a friend but from the look of things the lady was too young to be a friend, she was about the right age to be a daughter and whoever she was she gave the impression of some one who was thoroughly pulled together. As attractive as her dress was , his attention was drawn to her hair, it was dark, long and smooth, her eyes were the very same shade of red-brown.
Jason realized he had been staring, but then so was she. Jason had never felt such animosity from a woman he had never met and for some crazy reason he could only smile back.
"He had the nerve" Julia thought "how dare he smile so unrepentantly when he knew perfectly well she just overheard him arguing with Thomas".
"Hi Thomas how are you doing I hope you haven't been waiting long" Julia asked.
"nope I just got here how was your flight?" he countered.
Against her will her eyes were drawn to the stranger again he was still standing there watching them eavesdropping on their conversation violating their reunion. He didn't just irritate her, he made her un easy although the reason for that eluded her.
"hi Jason Carter, the stranger said stepping forward his hand outstretched."
Julia ignored his hand and mummured a "Julia Louis" being rude even to someone who deserved it usually left her with small guilt than satisfaction. she knew he wasn't from the island because if he was he could he could have remembered she knew he wasn't from the island because if he was she would have remembered him.
Thomas cut her thinking short when he said "he was the new editor of The Island record."
"yes ".Jason countered.
things began to fall into place she thought. "was I interrupting an interview". she asked curiously.
" No. you weren't, jason was just leaving. weren't you"? Thomas asked Jason.
Jason answered "yes ". with a low chuckle before leaving.
