finally the day for the burial has arrived. Jason parked his car opposite the church. pulling the car in the parking lot he could hear organ music pouring from the open windows, he nearly collided with Julia when coming out from the car . His heart skipped- he'd been thinking about her since yesterday- and then his heart settled thinking of how he could missed her. Another reason he could noticed her was that she was wearing a suit with gold outline which made her look like the sun.
Aware that his eyes had reached her midchest he forced to his eyes to move on.
"Good morning" he said his eyes still somewhere around her knee and was surprised when she returned his greeting. he turned and reached into his car to grab his sports jacket " how is it going today" he asked while putting his hands into the sleeves. oh dumb question I understand that Emma was your friend.
After Jason had left the airport he was curious as to who Julia was. while at the diner over two cups of coffee, he found out that she was from the town, her father died while she was still in diapers and mother died when she was a teenager and then she lived with Thomas and his wife.
' I was wondering if I could could talk to you but obviously this is not the right time. will you be around after the funeral" Julia asked.
" sure all I do is work and I can get out of it, that is the good thing about being the boss, would you like to meet over coffee or lunch? "Jason asked.
"no thanks , we'll just talk". she walked past him to the cruiser, leaving a faint scent of her perfume. she linked her arm with Thomas- he was in a full uniform- and they both cast sour looks at Jason.
