in a church full of many people sitting with Thomas Julia was only aware of one person out of the whole Jason Carter. his presence was irritatingly distracting Julia. she didn't know what his business was with the funeral, she couldn't help but think he was here for his newspaper.
The funeral was a simple one, the minister read a few passages from the Bible, the organist sang a few hymns, the minister gave the final benediction and then the casket was taken to the cemetery.
"Oh my God Julia you look amazing I hate you Julia heard ". Julia looked back to see her classmates Kathy.
"And you too, you never age." before Kathy could reply Michael and some of their other classmates arrived.
After hugs and hellos, Julia answered their questions about when she came back and for how long she was home.
"would you like me to introduce you"? Kathy asked Julia.
" To who". Julia asked
"To Jason Carter" , you keep looking at him.
Julia was so appalled she blushed. she was not a blusher.
" you know the guy? "Julia asked
" oh sure, he is the editor of the paper", she gave Jason a wave. "Adorable isn't he?".
Adorable was not the term Julia would like to describe him with. the man had too much dark and dangerous s*x appeal.
" He's really sociable, he's mingled right in since he moved here and he's a great cook." Kathy blurted.
" cook"? Julia eyes widened
"yeah, we normally have get together at one house or another and we always make sure to include him."
Julia could not stop laughing." I can't imagine him doing that "Julia thought.
"come on I'll introduce you," Kathy dragged Julia with her.
"I'm not really interested besides we've met before and we've to go or the funeral procession would start without us."
