Chapter 3

829 Words
Khloe's POV The room fell silent as Jasmine and I faced off in our wolf forms. Her brown wolf was massive, with sharp claws and teeth. My white wolf, though smaller, was quick and agile. Jasmine snarled, baring her teeth, and charged at me. I dodged her attack with ease, my reflexes sharp. The room erupted into cheers and chants as we clashed, our fur flying everywhere. Unexpectedly, I could easily read her moves and her overconfidence also helped me. Jasmine came at me again and before I could dodge this time, she hit me and threw me into a corner of the room. She charged again at me without rest but this time I saw her moves before she got too close. I jumped out of the way with my fore limbs and hit her in her rib cage with my hind limbs, sending her flying across the room. Once again, Jasmine and I were facing each other directly. We were circling the area, trying to find out the best time to attack. "End this already, Jasmine!" I heard someone in the room shout and Jasmine came at me. She suceeded in biting my side. I winced in pain but the fight is far from over as I force Jasmine away from my side. In a calculated strike, I hit Jasmine in her throat, after noticing that she's already running out of breath. After hitting her throat, without rest, I hit her in her chest and send her flying across the room. I stand over her and watch as she gasps for breath. She turns into her human form and taps out of the fight. The ushers in the room hurriedly brought a cloth to cover her. I was also covered as I turned into my human form. The room was very quiet. I had beaten Jasmine in a fight and they're having a very difficult time accepting what had just happened before them. I could hear gasps from every corner of the room and also mean words. "A white wolf? That's weird for a wolf color." Someone from one corner of the room said. "She's just lucky. It's not like she's an actual true warrior." Even as a victor, they despise me. I was already feeling horrible when Alexander spoke. "Khloe Ashley, am I right?" Alexander asked. I nodded. "That was a very nice fight. I'm impressed." Alexander said and I smiled and bowed in appreciation. "You have a pretty wolf and a nice smile too." Alexander said with a mind link and I am not sure I heard right. "From this fight, both parties were very good but what Khloe has done perfectly is that she was always trying to read her opponent's move and make a move that would easily counter hers." Alexander said and all eyes were on me again. I felt exposed. My body was healing but very slowly, Adele saw it and pushed a moonlight splinter into my hand, making me feel better. "Great job and Jasmine, you're very good. You can always do better." Alexander said and we joined the class as Elias called the next number. It felt like I was floating on air as I walked back. I had heard all the rubbish they were saying but Alexander's comments just made them feel beneath me. "You fought well today!" Adele said immediately we got out of the training room in the evening. The rest of the training session went normally and Alexander did not look at me anymore. I texted everything that Alexander said to me. "You don't mean it!" Adele said in disbelief and I sent a reassuring text. She squealed happily and hugged me. "You, my dear, have scored yourself a big fish!" Adele said. "What if it was just an act of pity? Just to make me feel better?" I texted. "What?!" Adele asked angrily. "Do you think you're someone to be pitied?" Adele asked and I just stared into her eyes for the answers to her questions. "You're absolutely beautiful! I'm not surprised that he was swept off his feet immediately he set his eyes on you. I mean...." Adele said, beginning to hype me and make me smile. "He probably just means to be nice." I texted. "Maybe or maybe he wants to, you know..." Adele said, winking at me and we both laughed understanding her joke. "Thank you." I texted and we hugged. We hurried to our room in the east wing from the north wing. The state at which we found our room was very disturbing. The door lock had been broken and the room was disorganized. Our beds had been turned upside down and there were paint marks on the walls with an 'X' sign as if someone's trying to pass across a message that they'll eliminate us. I was filled with fear of the unknown while Adele just growled in anger. "Who the hell tried this nonsense?!" Adele screamed angrily.
