Khloe's POV
I raised both of my hands, admitting surrender. I wished so bad that I could talk. Slowly, I tried to turn but when the assailant further pressed the sword against neck, I withdrew from turning back.
"When are you going to ask the questions? Like who are you? Or what do you want ?" The assailant asked and I heaved a sigh of relief, recognizing his voice.
I turned back and the sword was already off my neck. I was breathing really fast, relieved that I do not get to die. I was looking at Alexander, who stood before me, looking a bit flustered.
I took a twig on the floor and clearly wrote on the floor, I CAN'T SPEAK.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I didn't see that in the files." Alexander said, closing his eyes for a millisecond knowing he had spilled more than he should have. I felt embarrassed a bit.
"Do you understand sign language?" I asked, writing on the floor.
"Yeah, I do, to an extent." He said.
"Why the hell did you sneak up on me like that? I almost lost it." I asked.
"Well, I'm very sorry. I always come here to relax and I saw you. I'm sorry." He said, smiling a bit.
"It's fine." I responded in sign language, staring at him. We were both looking at each other, taking my eyes off him and speaking might be the only things I don't know how to do.
"Can I join?" He asked, picking up a stick that could fit as a sword.
I nodded.
"Take it easy on me, please." He begged as he came at me with the stick.
I had no time to read moves and I found myself defending and blocking his strikes. He hit very fast and his feet were almost never on the floor. It seems like a very normal thing to him. I wonder if being extraordinary is normal to him. After defending for as long as I could, Alexander finally won, placing his sword on my neck after making sure he only touched and not hit my leg; he is that cautious.
I was panting really hard when we finished.
"Wow! That was...." Alexander said, relaxing.
I did not know what to do. I could only smile because he had beaten me and it was a very nice fight. I should feel bad about losing but instead I could only smile.
"Elias is... Was the second best fighter I know but he never lasted this long, not even five moves." Alexander said.
"Was? What happened? Is he dead?" I asked, moving my hands.
"Nope. You just took his position as the second." He said and I blushed.
Oh God! What is he doing to me?
"Where, when, how and why did you learn how to use the sign language?" I asked him with my hands as we both sat on the floor.
"I was bored and decided to learn it, few years back." He said and I was awed.
I nodded, having nothing to say to him. As far as I'm concerned, I've overspoken, gotten too comfortable around him.
"Don't doubt yourself anymore." Alexander said and I was a bit alarmed.
"What do you mean?" I asked, shrugging.
"You look down on yourself, you don't feel like you're good enough. That's nonsense. You should stop seeing yourself like that, Khloe."
I was embarrassed and it was showing on my face already, I could feel it.
"You're strong, kind, pretty, gorgeous, wise and a very good fighter." He said. "if anyone else doesn't see it, it's on them." He said, with a tone that made it seem like he wouldn't be saying that again for a very long time.
I nodded, not knowing what to say. He read me like an open book. It's the same thing Adele is always saying but what can I do when I don't feel pretty or gorgeous? What can I do when nobody cares about me? When they all weird about me?
"They're probably intimidated." Alexander said out of the blue. I'm pretty sure I didn't speak out neither did I move my hands. Can he also read minds or what?!
"Intimidated or weirded out?" I asked.
"Trust me, if I meet someone far better off than I am, I'll definitely be intimidated." Alexander said and he stood up.
"How about I teach you some moves?" He asked. I noticed he was trying to get off the topic. I might have made him speak more than he normally does.
"I don't mind." I said and he stretched out his hand to help me stand up.
I took his hand and he helped me stand, only that my body was pressed against his and our eyes met each others. I could feel my body giving me signs and making various moves and I was almost losing it. Alexander looked like he was fighting various demons inside him threatening to unleash themselves as he held me. Too many things happening at the same time.
Alexander released me as soon as he had won the battle against his demons.
"I hope these would be helpful." Alexander said as he began teaching me how to fight better, as as a wolf and as a human.
We kept fighting and taking breaks till it was nightfall. He even escorted me back to the east wing and before I could turn back to thank him, he was already out of sight. Ever since I've been in the Whitmore Academy, that's the best time I've had. Scenes of him holding me and showing me how to do different things kept replaying in my head.
