After crashing for the night, I knew where my next stop was, the mountains. I'd only ever told one person where I'd most love to go and that was a little girl called Ella from the pack. I was denied having anything to do with her, but we spoke in secret when we could. She was the sweetest little girl ever. The only person I'll miss from that pack.
As I climb up to it, I take in all the beauty of it. It'll be hard up here, walking down and then back up for supplies. There's a shop down the other side. I'll get to the top, put my small bag of belongings and go grab a few bits. Hopefully no one will find me. There's a cave right up the top that I can make home for a while.
While hiking up there, my mind wanders to Grey and whether he's got the note. I don't want to turn on the phone incase someone can locate me. I refuse to go back. I won't go back. I hope Grey and his mate are happy. That's all I've wanted for him, as I didn't reject him, I expected pain from their kiss, touch, intimacy etc, but nothing.. I put that right to the back of my mind. I won't have to see him again.
This hike goes on and on but after what feels like forever, I'm there. It's beautiful. I'm going to have a quick refuel before I trek back down to the local store. I hope they've got the bits I need. If not I'll think of something else. The main thing is, I've escaped, I'm free, I'm at peace.
After dropping my stuff off, I knew I needed to make the trek down to the shop. Athena kept whimpering in my mind because she wanted her mate.
"I'm sorry Athena"
She responded with "I know, we will be okay".
I felt so guilty, but I knew he wouldn't choose us.
With those thoughts dragged to the back of my mind, I headed back down the mountain, it would be easier to use Athena, but I couldn't risk us being caught. So I settled for walking. As much as I hated it.
Finally at the store, I searched for what I needed, food, soap for washing, bedding, maybe a battery operated light. I saved up a lot over the years, my father surprisingly enough allowed me to get odd jobs now and again, so I kept the small amounts in a savings tin. It wasn't a huge amount but it would get me by.
I got food, a sleeping bag, a pillow, water, a light. That would keep me going for about a week. I'm not looking forward to hiking back up to the cave, so here goes!!
I couldn't help admire the beauty half way up, I let myself sit for five mins just to rest a little. Blue skies, puffy clouds and quiet. Peace.
Athena still kept whimpering mate in my head... I just ignored it. I probably shouldn't do but I did.
It wasn't so bad up here despite my worries of being found by my pack, by Grey, by anyone. I just hope Ella keeps quiet.
