Six months earlier AustinTwo weeks after Haley’s invitation to stay with her, Austin stood in his bedroom at his mother’s house, clearing out his closet.
"That’s about it." Austin dropped the armload of jeans and shirts next to the suitcase. "A couple of pants and shoes are all that’s left."
"Here, let me help you." While Haley folded everything into the suitcase, he went back to the closet and grabbed his casual and dress shoes, then dropped the pile of footwear into a smaller travel case on the bed.
