Seeing Wolf Mountain

I was laying in the bed looking up at the ceiling. My hand resting on my stomach. I was bored and really needed some air. My parents had come back and my mother was sitting beside me chatting away.

My mind kept wandering to Jace. The look on his face when he told me to leave. I had seen him angry before but never like that. Cyrus his wolf who had always protected me and who had always been closest to me eyes burnt into my soul.

Tears threatened but I swallowed them back. I looked at my parents and wondered what would become of them. As much as I loved them both dearly I really needed to be by myself. I knew I couldn't be selfish but it was to much noise. I needed quiet, quiet time to sort my head and my feelings.

Alot had happened and I had been here now for a few days. Suddenly I felt a wave of tiredness sweep over me and I wanted to sleep. Mum was still talking but it was to dad, she still had hold of my hand. I loved them but it was just to loud. I squeezed mums hand and closed my eyes.

when I woke it was dark outside. I saw the moon shining high in the sky. Stars were twinkling as if talking with morse code. I saw the tops of the pine trees outside my window swaying gently in the nights breeze. I looked around the room it was quiet. I swung my legs around and sat up on the bed.

I pulled my jeans on that was lying folded on the chair beside my bed and pulled my trainers on. I slowly walked to the bedroom door and opened it gently, peeping outside of the door. The coast was clear and I quietly walked down the long corridor and down the stairs.

I found the kitchen as I past a large door. I walked inside and found the fridge. Inside was lots of delicious cakes and cupcakes. I took a bottle of water and sliced a piece of chocolate cake. I helped myself to a cupcake just as my stomach made some noise.

I walked to the back door and opened it. As I stepped outside my breath hitched. Facing me was a small lake. The moon shine bouncing it's light off of the top. The smell of the pine trees breezed past my nose.

I saw a bench not so far away, I walked over a d sat down.I ate the cake and cupcake and drank some water.

I just say there in the still of the night. I had no idea what time it was. But here and now was the most tranquil place ever. I let my thoughts go over what had happened before I had to leave my pack. Menories bounced around taking my mind to different times and places when we were all young.

Promises that were made, pinky swear promises at that. Pretending when we were younger to be an Alpha and Luna both of us pretending to be like our parents. Jace chasing boys away from me when they got to close, and when a boy asked to take me to the cinema, Jace was sitting at the back keeping his eyes on us.

Life back then seemed pretty simple. I sighed and closed my eyes. We both knew that this day would definately come. I just didn't think a baby would be in the mix of it all. I knew that I couldn't let Jace find out. He would definitely make us move back to the pack. If his Luna found out I was carrying the Alpha heir, she would certainly lose it, maybe demand I get rid of it.

I never thought I would see the day when ai would have to leave the place I was born and raised in. I sighed then brought my knees to my chest. I just sat there watching nothing in particular.

A sudden noise behind me made me turn my head. There stood a man, at least 6ft 5 very broad, muscles upon muscles bulging from his t shirt. He had a pair of tight jeans on. His head was shaved. His eyes black orbs. He was stunning. Then I noticed his skin was dark. My eyes was memorised. How could someone look this good.

"Hi. Do you mind if I sit with you?"

I smiled half heartedly and he walked over.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm ok. I needed some fresh air." I replied.

"That's good. I'm Alpha Jerry." He smiled gently.

My heart skipped a beat. I knew he was the Alpha, his aura always lingered. We sat there in silence for a long time. He never asked anything he just sat there. His company was rather nice, but knowing he wasn't grilling me for answers was just nice. But I knew sooner or later I would have e to tell him. Then there was the discussion about me joining his pack, if he still allowed it.

Honestly and truthfully I'm a little scared. Having to break my pack bond and cut all ties with my home. A tear slid out the corner of my eye. To say they very thought didnt hurt me, I would be lieing. I would miss my friends, the bakery shop that's Mrs Zane owned. The library that Mr Saunders ran.

I would mostly miss the kids at the preschool. I used to visit them Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I used to play with them and read them books. Do art and crafts with them. So many things I would miss. I would miss little Leo. he was an orphan. His parents had died in a vehicle accident when he was a year old.

Another tear slid down my cheek, it took everything inside me not to let them fall completely. My heart hurt remembering the plans I had to make Leo my son. I was waiting for Jace to come back from the summit to do our bond. Then I was going to ask Jace to help me adopt Leo. Jace had a bond with Leo. He would often accompany me to the pre school and always played with Leo.

Now it would never happen. Leo would be in the system. I just pray to the moon Goddess someone would adopt him soon. I sniffed and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Are you alright?" A deep voiced spoke.

It sent a shiver down my spine. I turned to the Alpha and nodded slowly.

"Are you sure Jayla? I'm here if you ever need to talk."

"Thank you Alpha. But I just need time."

"Well in that case I'll go on in, I have some pack business to sort out. Don't get cold." He got up and smiled then walked back into the farm house.

I watched him leave until the door closed then I turned back to the water. In the distance I could her an owl. I heard rustling in the hedges. But no danger around. I got up and went back into the kitchen a d made myself some hot chocolate. With it stea ing hot I went back outside again, and sat on top of the bench.

Outside at night was a completely different world. Most things were still. Mainly the branches and the grass leaves were still moving in the breeze. It wasn't cold it was warm. Crickets were chirping, the nighttime sounds was calming.

After some time I stood up and brushed down my jean leg. I happened to look up and saw a shadow in the window. The Alpha. The Alpha was looking down at me. Just watching and not moving. I took my cup and walked back into the farm house. In just a few hours everyone would be awake going a out their daily business. Then I would start my new life. I was carrying a new life. A new life that depended on me.
