Seeing Jace

Mum's hand stopped mid way as the ladle dropped on the side. As the Alpha rushed past, mum took me on her arms and held me tight. I didn't want to see him and I was scared. For the first time ever in all the years ive known him, I was scared.

Luna Lisa came towards us as her hand rested on my back.

"Don't worry Jayla, nothing will happen."

I stood there in my mother's arms. Hoping and praying Jace wouldn't cause any problems.

"Jayla, what are you worried about? Jace is our friend, he won't hurt us. Don't be afraid." Azelea whispered.

I pulled out of mom's arms and slowly walked out into the lounge. I walked to the window and hid at the side. I could see a car parked outside. I watched as Jason opened the car door, then Jace got down from the car.

I took a deep breath in. I couldn't see his face properly as he had turned to the side. I watched as he raised his nose up into the air. It wasn't until Alpha Jerry walked closer to him that Jace turned.

Alpha Jace and his Beta was waiting inside of their car. Jace had only brought four warriors with him. As he got out he looked around and took a deep breath in. His eyes narrowed slowly but was pulled back by a deep voice.

"Alpha Jace, welcome to Wolf Mountain."

Jace turned his head and looked. Alpha Jerry was actually intimidating. He was larger than he was told. This Alpha standing infront of him was bigger than the normal Alphas he has met.

Alpha Jerry gave a small nod. Beta Femi walked towards Jace. I watched from the side of the window as Jace reached out and shook Alpha Jerry's hand.

My breath hitched as Jace looked towards the window, I moved to the side so he couldn't see me. I hurriedly went back to the kitchen and went to the back door. I walked outside, the breeze blowing past me. My nerves were going wild. Luna Lisa walked up behind me placing a hand on my shoulder. There she just stood beside me. The sting behind my eyes was to painful, my tears gathered and fell.

Seeing Jace again brought back the feelings I tried so hard to bury. But the sudden rush the memories of our childhood came rushing into me. A sob broke from me, another tried to surface but I swallowed it down. I just wanted him to know he was going to be a father, something that we used to talk about months before he went away to the Alpha Summit.

Seeing him here today I had mixed emotions. Scared, happiness, and angry. Scared yes, I was scared. Scared he might take me back by force. What if he knew about the baby? Happyiness, I was happy to see him. Angry definately. Angry because he never gave me the chance to talk to him. To tell him he was going to be a father.

I wiped my eyes and took a deep breath. No this is my life now. Here in Wolf Mountain Pack. A new start. I looked at Luna Lisa and smiled.

"I'm ok Luna."

I saw a tear gather in Luna Lisa's eye. She squeezed my hand gently letting me know that she was there for me.

"Let's go back Luna."

We both walked back into the kitchen. But my heart sank as I came face to face with Cindy. This is not what I wanted today. Cindy was with her friends, chuckling and whispering. I heard pieces. Of course it was abvout Jace. Cindy flicked her blonde hair over her shoulder and stood tall pushing her chest out. Cindy was definately not Jace's type. Even I knew that.

"Oh look who it is, the runaway stray." Cindy laughed the other followed.

"Cindy enough. Don't you have nothing better to do?" Luna Lisa told her.

Cindy glared at me and her friends whispered something into her ear. Cindy gave a half smirk then turned and walked away.

A loud crash came in the distance.

"Rogues." some one screamed at the top of their voice.

More people started screaming, panic and chaos exploded. I stood there and froze. My mother burst out from the kitchen and rushed outside. Women and children came scrambling into the farm house. Children were crying. I looked around and my eyes met Jace's. His eyes pitch black. Alpha Jerry sprinted outside, Jace and Jason running beside him. I heard a woman screaming, I looked around and found a young woman kneeling on the floor cradling a child.

Luna Lisa helping mothers and children to a doorway that led them somewhere. I rushed to the woman and knelt down beside her. I looked down and a young child had a deep claw mark over his chest. Blood running down and onto his clothes. I took him from her arms and just ran. I ran outside with the boy cradling him in my arms. His face going paler by the minute. I dodged wolves fighting and ran as fast as I could to the hospital.

I heard a loud growl and my feet skidded to a dead stop. Infront of me was a brown wolf. Not as big as an Alpha wolf but he was a rogue. His fur matted, his teeth yellow and he let off a foul odour. Azelea went on guard. I felt myself partly shift. A fur wolf paw cradled the pup. I was still on two legs. Claws extended.

I didn't think about it, I just needed to get this pup to the hospital. The wolf lunged at me. My arm pushed out and my claws went straight for his throat. He stood there after realising my claws were in his throat.

With one big pull, his throat was in my hand. Blood covered my arm, the blood dripping from my paw. I ran throwing wolves to the side as they came for me. I threw open the doors to the hospital and ran inside. Doctor Hale came out of a room looking panicked.

She saw me and rushed over looking down at the young child in my hands.

"This way." she said as she hurriedly to a room.

I follolwed her and laid the child down. I backed away and shifcted back. I took a deep breath. I rushed back into the room and stood beside the child.

"What happened?" she looked at me.

"I..I don't know, I was in the farmhouse. It went chaotic, screaming and people running around. A woman was kneeling down holding him. I took him and rushed him here."

Doctor Hale looked at me.

"I mean you Jayla, You partly shifted."

I.. I don't know. I didn't even realise.

"We can Jayla, It's something we could always do." Azelea chimed in.

"What? How?"

"It's rare but we can."

I shook my head and looked back at Doctor Hale.

"How is he?"

"He will be fine. It wasn't deep. But for a child it was deep enough."

The door flew open and a woman ran inside looking frantic. Her breathring eratic. Sweat was running down her face, as her eyes found the child.

"Oh thank god. Doctor how is he?"

"He will be fine Judy. It looks worse than it is." Doctor Hale took her gloves off and walked towards the woman named Judy.

Judy dropped a kiss ontop of the little boy's head then turned to me. She walked over and took hold of my hand.

"Thank you, thank you." She looked up and smiled at me with tears running down her face.

"It's no problem. Am just happy he will be ok."

Judy turned and started talking to the Doctor, I slipped outside of the room and walked outside of the hospital.

I stepped outside and looked around.
