Wolf Mountain Ranch

The Warning

As I walked further away from the hospital, I saw the damage that had been caused. I was shocked to see the distruction on the ranch. I heard crying as I saw dead animals in their paddocks. I saw elderly women laying on the floor with blood pooling around them. My heart sank as the loss of these people left the pack bond. I watched as warriors were leading captured rogues towards a building on the far side of the ranch.

I saw Alpha Jerry standing there gathering people around him. Then I saw him Jace. I quickly moved myself behind a tree, hopefully he didn't see me. As I sneaked a peek from behind the tree, I saw my mother running looking around panicking. I opened the mind link, fear from my mother flooding in. I had forgot to leave the link open. I had closed it.

"Mum, I'm fine."

Then another voice came inside my head.

"Jayla! Jayla answer me, are you alright?"

Alpha Jerry's voice was panicked. But why.

"I'm fine Alpha."

I could feel the relief through the pack bond. The clean up started and I made sure to keep out of the way from Jace. I had noticed that Jace's vehicle had got badly damaged during the attack. Which probably meant he would be here for a while longer. As I walked towards the farmhouse I heard people talking and whispering. People were looking at me. I didn't know what was going on. I walked towards the Alpha's study, the door slightly adjar.

"Alpha are you sure."

That was Femi's voice. I leaned in a bit closer and listened.

"Yes I'm sure. He said that he was sent by the Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack. I need to speak to Alpha Jace. Find out if he know's anything. She needs protection."

"But why? Why does he want her?"

"Thats what we need to find out. What makes her so special that he would use rogues to get her, and I want to know how the hell he knew she was here."

My hand flew to my mouth and covered it. Was he talking about me? But Why? Why did this Alpha want me? What had I done for him to use rogues to attack to find me?

No. I was jumping to conclusions. I didn't even know if Alpha Jerry meant me. I stood up straight and backed away from the door.

I walked outside into the back of the farmhouse. I didn't sit on the bench, I walked around to the other side of the lake. I found a boulder under an oak tree. I climbed ontop and sat there. Many thoughts running through my mind.

The thought of that Alpha wanting me made my heart race in panic. I closed the link I needed quiet. I reached up and pulled a leaf from the tree. My fingers playing with it. My mind was scrambled seriously. I tried calming my mind down but this Alpha, this Alpha I never even knew. I just can't think why he would want me, even if it was me at all. But who else was Jerry talking about if it wasn't me.

I felt a tug on the pack bonk link. I opened my mind and my mother's voice came flooding through.

"Jayla, my daughter are you hurt? Where are you?"

"Mom I'm fine, I'm not hurt I just need some quiet."

"Ok baby, don't stay away to long alright?"

"Ok mom, how is everything?"

"Were just cleaning up. A few people injured and unfortunately a few didn't make it. But the Alpha is on it. Jayla honey we will find out what happened."

"You know something?" thre link was silent.

"Mom, you know something and you never told me."

"Jayla."

"No mom, tell me what you know."

"We don't know anything right now. Were waiting for your father to come back. Then we will talk."

I shut the link off completely. What the f*****g hell. I was mad. If mom has kept something from me that has put these innocent people in danger I will never forgive her. I started to get restless. I was agitated even angry when I thought of mum. Why would she keep something from me? If this was to do with me, what gave her the right to keep me in the dark?

Right now I didn't know how to feel about anything. My hand automatically went to my stomach. I placed my hand there and drew circles on the small bean that wasn't quite showing yet.

"Azelea,"

"Am here Jayla."

"What did you mean we can do it?"

"Well, I can't tell you everything Jayla I'm not allowed. But what I can tell you is only this. I am a special wolf Jayla. I can do things that wolves can't do."

"W..what do you mean by that?"

"You saw already Jayla, you saw that we only partly shifted. You haven't come into your full power yet. But it will come. Everything will be known in time." She slips to the furthest part of my mind.

Now what the hell was that she was on about? What powers? am I super woman or something? Moon Goddess what the hell is going on? I laid back on the boulder as the sun came piercing threw the tree branches. The sun hitting my face. I closed my eyes and let the sunshine bask on my face.

The place was quiet, the gently breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. A few birds flew above me. Small animals rustling around the forest. At last peace. Slowly everything that had happened today was drifting away. I couldn't think of the last time I felt like this. A small breeze past my nose. I could smell the cut hay.

I sighed as I let my whole body relax. I took in a few deep breaths slowly exhaling. This was nice, this was peace. It felt right, maybe, just maybe I could raise my child here. Live here and be happy. A gentle smile formed on my face.

Down in the cells, screams were heard. The captured rogues, one by one they were interrigrated. Alpha Jerry and his Beta Femi trying to find out the reason why the ranch was attacked, and who sent them. They were brutal, But not many wanted to be disloyal to the person who sent them. It was only the last one that decided to tell.

"speak."

"I don't know all of it. But I do know he wants her."

"Who? Who wants her?"

"The Alpha of Bloodmoon. He told us to capture her and bring her to him. He won't stop still he gets what he wants." he smirked then laughed.

"She also crossed someone she shouldn't."

Alpha Jerry was just about to ask him another question, when the rogue bit down hard on his tongue. Femi rushed forward just as the rogue spat his tongue onto the floor. Femi stepped back as blood gushed out of the rogues mouth. Alpha Jerry stood there and watched. Knowing it was now pointless.

"Femi."

"Alpha."

"Find out what you can about the Bloodmoon Alpha, and I mean everything. I need to know why he wants her."

"Yes Alpha."

"Oh and get all this cleared." He told Femi as he wiped his hands with a rag cloth. He turned and walked away.

Alpha Jerry headed back to his office. He wanted to try and find some things out and call in a few favours. Once back in his office he pulled his laptop open and started searching. He searched for the Bloodmoon Pack. Anything he could find on Alpha Sebastian Crawford. But nothing really showed up. He sat back and started to tap his fingers on the desk. There was no way an Alpha would be this clean.

Many thoughts started racing through his mind. He needed to know why this Alpha wanted her. He needed to know so until he found out the truth, he would protect her with his life.
