I saw Jerry's shoulders relax. He reached across the table and took my hand. He smiled and his whole face relaxed. He nodded.
"You ready to go?"
I nodded to him and stood up from the table. His hand never leaving mine. He paid for our meal on the way out and we got back to tbe car. I still couldn't shake that uneasy feeling inside me. I looked around before I got into the car. When Jerry got in he looked at me.
"I'm taking you to a place I think you would love." He winked at me, started the car and drove off.
