Truth Being Told

I continued to lay on the big boulder with the sun shining down on my face. All the stress seemed to left my body there and then. This is certainly the life. I knew I wouldn't be able to train and do what I do best fight. I would need something else to do. I couldn't live here on a free ride. This was something I would have to ask Alpha Jerry. I felt a pull on my mind. Looks like my peace is over. I unblocked it and ended up with a barage of questions. "Jaylas where are you?2 "Jayla answer me, it's mom." "Jayla, it's dad come home we need to talk." I sighed as I told them "On my way." A feeling of dread seemed to be settling inside me. I took a slow walk back to the ranch house. I noticed the clean up was almost done. Women were washing down the yard where blood was spilled. I walked into the house and there stood my mom, dad and Alpha Jerry, Beta Femi standing just behind the Alpha. The look of relief on moms face, but the look completely different on dad. I stood there looking between all three of them. "Jayla can you come to my office please." I nodded and followed him, mom and dad walking behind me. The air was a little tense. But nothing could prepare me for what was going to happen. I sat down and waited for mom and dad to sit. They each took a seat beside me. Beta Femi stood at the back of the Alpha. "Jayla," Mom said. She turned to me taking my hands in hers. I could feel moms hands shaking. "What is it mom?" I looked turned my head and looked at dad. "Jayla," dad moved closer. Putting a hand on my shoulder. Dad took a deep breath in. "Sweetheart, I have something to tell you." He looked at mom then back to me. "Jayla, you know that me and your mom loves you so so much. There's no easy way to say this, but." he stopped and closed his eyes. He took another deep breath in. "We are not your parents." The room went deafly silent. My heart hammered against my chest. "W..w..what do you mean?" I whispered. My mind blank. "I..I don't understand. What do you mean your not m .. my parents?" Mum squeezed my hand. Tears were forming in my eyes but they didn't fall. Dad continued. "Sweetheart. Your mum's name is Catherine, she was my sister." I just stared at dad, I wasn't sure if my ears were working right. "Just let me tell you sweetheart OK?" I slowly nodded "Your mom, my sister was mated to an Alpha of the BloodMoon Pack. His name was Adrian Clawford. He had a brother. His name is Sebastian. Your mom was bonded to Adrian. It was a pack alliance. They wasn't fated mates. Your Uncle Sebastian was your mom's fated. Sebastian didn't handle it very well, and after you was born, he killed your father. Your father had his own business away from the pack. He was an Alpha in the underworld." "Underworld?" "Yes. Mafia." I sat there but seriously my brain was not taking this in. My brain was becoming over whelmed. "When your mother gave birth to you, it was the happiest day of her life. It wasn't until several months after your dad died that I found out Sebastian was keeping your mother there in the pack. Locked up. One day your mother called me. She had taken a phone from one of the omegas. We arranged to meet so I could bring her home to the New Forst Pack. But." He went silent. when I looked at him tears were falling from his eyes. "She had just handed me you, and a wolf came out of no where. It was Sebastian. Your mom pushed me, told me to run, take you to safety. So I ran. To keep you safe. I looked back once and saw your mother fighting with Sebastian. As she fell her eyes locked on to me. They were pleading. Her last words spoken, Run." "I took you to our pack, and immediately went and saw Alpha Abel and Luna Shelby. They helped hide your scent. Amy and I adopted you as our own." I jumped up and pushed mom away. Shock fell on mom and dad's faces. Alpha Jerry stood up and just looked at me. My heart raced, my breathing felt restricted, the room seemed to be closing in on me. I tried to speak but no words came out. Then nothing, I felt myself fall. My eyelids fluttered open, I looked around the room then to the window. The Moon was just rising in the sky. What the hell happened? Was everything my dad told me the truth? "Azelea!" "I'm here." she replied. "Who am I?" "Jayla, I know it is a lot, but you needed to hear it from them." "Did you know?" "Yes." "How did you know?" "Jayla, I am your mother's wolf." I sat bolt up right, clutching the sheets in my hands. "Wh...what do you mean?" "I was your mother's wolf. I was with her since she was a baby." Everything was now running so fast though my head. It became scrambled and panic started to rise. "Jayla calm down." "I ..I can't." I jumped out of bed, and ran. I ran down the stairs, passing by Beta Femi, Mom and dad were standing in the living room ,I ran past them pushing them out of the way. I needed to get out of here. I told Azelea to shift. We jumped into the air, shifted and ran. I had no idea where I was going but I just needed to run. I ran until we crossed the ranch border. I shifted and blocked all the shouting that was coming through the mind link. I pushed Azelea into the back of my mind and carried running on foot. I ran over stones, sharp ones that cut my feet, but I didn't care. I stopped when I came to the foot of the mountain that Alpha Jerry brought me to. I started climbing until I reached the ridge three quarter up. I took deep breaths and sat down. Not caring I was only in a t shirt and shorts. The cold wind rushing against me. But the coldness I welcomed. I brought my knees to my chest as I rested my chin against them. I closed my eyes as I felt the tears rushing to push forward. Everything I believed to be my life was a lie. A big fat lie. My parents weren't. My real parents dead. My uncle wanting to take me away but why? I felt pressure in my mind. No way was I going to unblock it and let it down. Tonight I needed to be on my own. I didn't want anyone of them around me. How could I ever trust what they tell me? I was mad at Azelea to, why couldn't she have told me sooner? why keep it from me? she knew, she could of prepared me. Maybe I should leave here, go where no one knows me. I could go to the human world. I sat there pondering in thought. Do I? Don't I? Right now I wanted to go. But I know it wasn't just me. I had a little bean to take care of. In just a few months my baby would be here. I couldn't go to Jace. How I missed him. Now the tears were falling hard. I missed the simple life I had before. The pack, Jace and Jason. Everything seemed no hassle. Friday night snacks in Jace's room watching horror films. Us falling asleep together. It would never be like this ever again. I laid down on my side and curled into a ball. I saw lights in the distance with the town not far.
