The announcement

“Look, let’s not jump to any conclusions. OK, we will all know the truth today, so try not to let yourself get too upset.” Jayla looked at her coffee and sighed. Jayla knew that this was now complicated because of the secret she had been holding onto. She was planning for Jace to return back home to tell him. But it didn’t work out as planned. She was hoping he would be overjoyed by her news, but now she knew she had to keep it to herself. She didn’t even have a chance to tell him. Jayla knew that when they first started seeing each other it was a strong possibility that either one of them would find their mates. But Jace was 23 years old back then and still hadn’t found her. It was a known fact throughout the pack that there was an attraction between them both. When they both decided to get into a relationship, they both agreed that if either one were to find their mate, the other would walk away and that would be the end. But things happen and now a big complication has been thrown into the mix. How was she ever going to tell him now? If this woman was his mate, what right did she have to make it a problem for him? She definitely had to think things through. But even though she wanted to tell her best friend, she couldn’t. She needed to decide what she was going to do. But one thing she knew for sure was that if he had found his mate, she would leave Green Forest Pack. There was no way she would be able to stay knowing that her unborn child was the result of the relationship between them. It would definitely cause major problems for her Alpha and now her possibility her Luna. Her child would be the firstborn to her Alpha, who would be the official heir of the pack. So any children that they would produce would only be step siblings and Jayla knew that no Luna would allow another child that wasn’t hers and her mates to live. Complicated 999. Once the announcement was made this afternoon, she would know exactly what she would need to do. They finished their coffees and decided to head back home. Rachael looked at Jayla. “Soooo, what are you going to do now? Or do you want to hang out some more?” “Uh, I think I’ll go back home. I need to sort myself out and have some thinking to do.” She replied. “OK, no problem then, but I’ll be back around later to walk to the pack hall so we can go together, yes?” “Yeh OK, I’ll see you a bit later.” Jayla turned and hugged Rachael, then turned in a different direction and headed home. Jayla took a slow walk back to her house and her shoulders slumped. She really didn’t know what to do, she automatically placed a hand over her stomach and prayed she was strong enough to do this. “No, no, no, Jayla, stop it, let’s wait till the announcement.” Her wolf spoke out to her. “Azelea, I know, but I’m scared. I mean, regardless of what happens this afternoon, do we tell him?” “I don’t know Jayla, you know what happens to children when they are not their alpha mates.” “I know and that’s what scaring me right now. What if we tell him, and he takes the baby away? What if he wants me to get rid of it? What will happen to my poor baby if he or she is to be raised by his luna?” Tears were running down her face. “I won’t let anyone harm our baby Jayla. I will fight anyone who tries to harm them.” Jayla felt somewhat better knowing at least she had her wolf. She smiled gently and carried on walking. Alpha Jace I couldn’t believe I had found my mate. We were at a business Summit for 14 days. Little did I know that my mate would be there with her Alpha and father. I remembered how my heart nearly burst from my chest when we made eye contact. I knew then that I was in love. Stupid. I know seems I’d never met her before till that day. Being with her made me forget practically everyone at home. All I wanted was to be with her constantly, never leaving her out of my sight. Brianna was the beta's daughter from a pack down south. She was loving and caring, absolutely perfect. She had the curves, a body to die for, and her black hair glistened in the sun. Her brown eyes reminded me of a piece of chocolate. My soulmate, my love, my Luna as I smiled. My pack, the Green Forest Pack, was in Montana and it thrived. I was a good Alpha, a fair Alpha. I loved my pack members. I loved being able to help them when they needed it. When we arrived home I never even saw Jayla standing on the pack steps waiting to greet us. I was to excited bringing my Luna home. I mean I know I should have, it was something she had done since we started seeing each other. I remembered I saw her face as I walked Brianna towards the pack house. Jayla’s face fell to the floor. But she knew, it was agreed by us both when we both decided to get into a relationship. If either one of us found our mate, the other would walk away. Simple. I loved Jayla, of course I did. If I had never met my mate, I would have picked Jayla to be my chosen. We had good times, fun times. Being around Jayla always made me in a better mood. My beta, Jason, introduced her to me as they were friends before. Her parents were my father’s top warriors. So, naturally when I took over, they were still the top warriors. Jayla was also a warrior being trained by her father. She was so kind and caring, she took the time to help others, and she helped me when she could. She helped organise the banquets and the mask ball that we had hosted last year. Even though she was a warrior, she would make one fine Luna. My wolf Tyson, agreed. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. “Come in.” “Hi baby,” my mate said as she walked in. She came over and sat in my lap. “Baby, I need a new dress for the announcement today.” “But didn’t I buy you new dresses before we came home?” “Yes, you did my love but none of them are right for today. Pleasssse.” She cooed at me and kissed my ear. A shiver went down my body and I loved that she knew what she wanted. I opened the desk drawer and took out my personal card and handed it to her. “Thank you babe, I will be back soon.” She said as she stood up. “Uh hold on love, I’ll arrange a driver for you.” “Thanks babe.” I mind linked one of the warriors and asked him to take the car and drive Brianna wherever she needed to go.” Brianna walked out of my office and turned and blew me a kiss. I smiled and blew one back as I smiled and got back to the office work. I was just settling into this paperwork on my desk when my beta walked into the office. “Alpha.” He bowed. “Hey Jason, stop with the formal names.” “So how’s it going?” He plopped down on the chair. “Hmmm it’s going well,” “Yeh, I just saw her get into a car. Were she off to?” “Shopping for a new dress.” “Again?” “Yeh, I know, but she’s just got here and besides, she wants to make a good impression later.” “Uh Jace, have you seen Jayla man? She looked gutted when she saw you earlier.” “I know, but she knew bro we both agreed she needs to just back away now that Brianna is here.” “Yeh, I know but you guys were together for 2 years, you can’t tell me you both never loved each other.” “Jason. I’m going to say this just once, then I never want to speak of it again. Are we clear?” “Yeh ok bro.”
