The Announcement ~

Jace leant back in his chair and looked at his friend.
“Jason, Jayla is a part of this pack. I will never throw her out and we can still remain friends. The only difference now is, is that I have my mate.”
“I know that bro, but don’t you think she will find it hard to see you both every day? You know I mean over each other?”
Jace sighed and rubbed his temples that had started to throb.
“Jason look, I love Jayla. I always will, but not the same as I love my Luna. I’m sorry Jason, but she needs to get on board with this. I have Brianna now, and she will always come first. Whatever happened between me and Jayla is over. PERIOD.”
“OK, OK, are you going to talk to her about all this?”
“No need.”
“OK man, well, I’ll get going. We need to get the stage made outside for later.
“Oh and Jason, can you find the housekeeper please, and ask her to decorate outside for the party later. Tell her to order whatever she needs to make it look good please.”
“Sure thing.” Jason walked out and shut the door.
I was getting into my work when my phone rang.
“Hello Alpha Jace speaking.”
“Good afternoon son.”
“Hey dad, what’s up?”
“Well, your mother and I heard on the grape vine that someone has found his mate.”
“Don’t tell me Jason.”
“Jason,” replied dad.
“Why doesn’t that surprise me? He’s got a big mouth.”
“So when can we meet her? Your mother is driving me nuts.”
“I bet she is,” he chuckled. “Dad, we’re having an announcement at 4pm today. Please come and mother. But dad! Please tell mom to behave herself.”
Dad laughed. “Sure I will,” As the call ended.
A smile came to Jace’s face.
Knock knock.
“Come in.” Jace looked up
“Alpha.”
“Ah Mrs Davidson, come in.”
“Thank you, Alpha.”
“So what can I do for you?”
“Alpha, I just saw beta Jason, and he told me what you needed. I just come to verify a few things.”
“OK, no problem shoot!”
“Ok. What food would you like, Alpha?”
“Oh f**k, will you be able to get food ready for after the announcement today?”
“Yes, of course Alpha.”
“OK then, well I’ll leave it up to you, Mrs Davidson. I trust you. Can you please ask the omegas to decorate the adjoins garden too? You know the normal things we do: fairy lights and lanterns. If you get any problems, just ask Jayla.”
“Uh yes sir.”
“Is that all Mrs Davidson?”
“It is Alpha, I’ll get on now.”
“Thank you, Mrs Davidson,” he said as she walked away.
Jace was working away when he heard a ding. It came from his mobile phone notification. It was from his bank alerting him a transaction had been made.
He smiled to himself and opened the alert up.
“$55,000 what the goddess did she buy from Clara’s boutique. Did she buy everything in the store? That shocked him. He will have to ask Brianna when she gets back home. He put his phone down on the desk and got back to his work.
In Jayla’s house, Jayla was pacing the living room. So many thoughts, so many things rushing through her head. Her head started to ache and throb in her temples. Her pulse rose and her heart quickened.
“Jayla, calm down, you're going to have a panick attack,” Azelea said.
“I know, it’s too much, I don’t know what to do.” As she gasped for air, black dots started dancing around her vision. She would normally call Jace, but she knew she couldn’t do that now. She had to call Jason. She opened her mind to the pack link.
“Jason.”
“Hey Jayla.” Just as he heard 2 words.
“Help! Home.” Then nothing it was silent.
“Jayla.” Nothing
“Jayla! Can you hear me?” Nothing, just silence.
Fuck, he took off running to her house. He took the front steps in one and barrelled through the front door.
“Jayla!”
“Jayla, we’re are you?” as he checked the living room, then the kitchen.
He took the stairs and ran to her room. He pushed her door open and there lying in front of him was Jayla sprawled out. He rushed to her side and knelt down checking her pulse.
“Doctor Alex, I’m coming with Jayla. She’s unconscious.”
“I’m waiting beta Jason.”
Jason ran to the hospital with Jayla in his arms. He kicked the main doors open and saw doctor Alex waiting.
“Come in here beta, put her on the bed.”
Jason placed Jayla gently on the bed and stood back.
“What happened beta?” Doc Alex looked at him.
“I .. I don’t know. She mind linked me and just said Help, home then silence. I got to her house and found her in the bedroom on the floor like this,” as he gestured with his hands.
“OK, you can wait outside. I’ll come find you shortly.”
Jason left the room and sat outside waiting. Normally, he would tell Jace but now under the circumstances, he didn’t think it would be wise to do that. Her mom yes, I’ll let her mom know. He told himself.
“Warrior Amy.”
“Yes beta.”
“Jayla’s in the pack hospital.”
“WHAT.” Is she OK? What happened?”
“Can you come here to the hospital? I will fill you in.”
“On my way beta.”
Jason sat there and waited. He hoped that if Jace found out he would be in the s**t from not telling him. He sat up and lent his head back against the wall. He closed his eyes. He was worried about his friend. He had known Jayla for years. It had always been the 3 of them. For the past 5 years they had become the best of friends. Having sleep-overs and going out having fun. Heck, he even taught Jayla to drive. He looked back on those memories and smiled. Never again would they all have an all-night movie night. No more would they be pranking each other around the pack house. Now everything had changed so fast, nothing would be the same again. He sighed deeply.
He heard a door swing open, and he looked up and saw Amy, her mother running through the doors.
“Beta, what’s happened? Where is Jayla?”
“Calm down Amy, she's in with the doc. I don’t know what has happened, she mind linked me and asked for help. When I got to her, she was unconscious on the floor.”
“Oh my baby girl, which room is she in?”
“This one.”
Amy walked forward and knocked on the door, she opened it and stuck her head inside.
“Hi doc.”
“Come in Amy.”
“So doc what happened to her?”
“She passed out by the look of it! Looks like a panic attack. Her vitals are all good, and I’ve given her something to help her relax. She should wake up soon.”
“Thank you, Alex.” She nodded to him.
“I’ll leave you now. Any problems Amy just shout.”
Amy smiled. “Thanks Alex.”
Alex walked out of the room and shut the door. Inside, Amy sat down in the chair beside the bed and took hold of Jayla’s hand.
“My baby girl, what has happened to you?”
Minutes went by, and the room was silent. Amy was just staring at her daughter. She had a feeling she knew what had happened. It wasn't a secret that their Alpha had brought home his mate. She also knew that Jayla was in a relationship with Jace.
Just at that moment, a groan came from Jayla. Amy jumped up and looked at her daughter.
“Jayla honey, can you hear me?”
“Mom.” She groaned.
“I’m here sweetheart. Can you open your eyes, honey?”
Jayla stirred a little more, her eyes opened, and she turned her head to her mom.
“Mom.” She said as her tears fell.
