Kari's p.o.v

"Mate. We're mates." Rosey said as she stared at me, I only smiled and took a step toward her when a loud menacing growl filled the forest around us, my eyes immediately turned red and pulled Rosey to me to protect her. An unknown male wolf shifter walked toward us, only staring at me with a look of death on his face and he walked toward us, "Axius… what are you doing here?" Rose growled at this male, an obvious member of her pack and he stopped and looked at her, "I told you already, if your mate wasn't a wolf I'd kill him." Belli stood in front of us and stared this wolf in the face and looked back at us, "Whoa hold up a second! You and Rose have met before? When? And why can't you let mates be mates you wolf asshole?" She growled at this Axius who never looked away from me, he pushed Belli to the side into Kai and took another step towards me and Rose when she stepped forward and growled at Axius “leave before you get hurt you insignificant beta bastard. Hurt my mate and I won’t hesitate to kill you.” He backed up and started shaking but refused to leave “R-Rose please… he isn’t a proper mate for you. You know you need a wolf to take care of you, a-and he would make you leave the pack an-” I pushed him back when he said I’d make my mate leave her pack, I pushed him again when he didn’t react the first time. “You dare insult the prince of vampires, soon to become king? And you think I would make my mate leave her pack, like I’m one of those people that make their mates leave all that they know as soon as I know they are my mate? And that I don’t know how to take care of my mate? You really are deserving of the title son of beta cause you’ll never be anything more with that close-minded thinking.” Suddenly he lunged at me and before I can react my mate launched herself at him, eyes black and claws out and knocks him to the ground with her claws piercing his skin at his throat lightly and pinned him down, reminding me of the evening I saved her life from the rogue wolf. “Kai… get mother and father out here right now, they have a traitor to deal with attacking me and my mate, or should I say the next vampire king.” She growled as her brother stood there for a minute then said they were coming with a few guards to take him away, I walked next to her and poked her gently. “What you did reminded me of when I saved your life that day eleven years ago, except I killed that wolf to save you, I didn’t know we were mates but I knew I liked you. Which is why I sent my sister down here like dad asked her to see what your pack was like, I knew the whole time… I just wanted her to see how you were after all those years.” After I said that her eyes went back to their beautiful grey-blue color, then half the pack came forward at that moment and was shocked at the sight they saw and I don’t blame them. The future Luna pinning down one of the best warriors the pack has to offer, the future vampire king watching Rose with warmth and love, also Belli getting marked by Kai, it was a shock to take in but Rose’s mother and father recovered quickly and ordered the warriors to take Axius to the dungeons to be held for questioning then sent the rest of the pack away. “Now… who wants to explain what all is going on? Why did Kai mark Belli and why is the next vampire king looking at my daughter with love in his eyes?” Asked her dad genuinely curious and a bit frustrated with the situation in front of him, Rose stood in front of her parents and was about to speak but I put my hand on her shoulder and pulled her close to me. “Mr. and Mrs. Moon leaders of this pack, I would like to explain this situation in a… less open place for just anyone to listen to this if you wouldn’t mind?” Her father was a bit taken by surprise but agreed as we walked out of the forest together, I held Rose’s hand and felt her squeeze my hand gently as we made our way to the Alpha’s house. We were stared at by the pack and people were whispering about us as we walked past then into the house, we all sat at the table looking at each other before Rose spoke up. “Mother, father… Kari is the boy that saved my life eleven years ago when I got lost outside of the pack territory, and he’s my mate. I know you guys hate vampires but he’s mine and Belli’s Kai’s mate too, sorry but it’s true.” Rose looked at me and blushed a bit, “...and you won’t reject him Rose? Try to find a proper mate?” Her mother asked looking between us both, obviously distressed about her being my mate. Just the thought of her rejecting me makes me want to go on a murdering spree, wait whoa I need to calm down… I shook my head and noticed everyone looking at Rose, “Belli told me that the legend of our pack name also had a prophecy in the rest of it and now I believe it’s true since Kari is my mate…the prophecy says once the daughter of the most powerful alpha in wolf history is born she is destined to marry the next vampire king and bring peace to all shifters, but if she rejects her mate it’ll be the end of shifters and probably life as we know it… I believe that it’s true, and I don’t want to reject my mate. But I would like to get to know him before we mark each other and I leave with him.” Everyone looked at me and I smiled at Rose gently, “of course sweetie, let’s get to know one another.”
