Belli’s P.o.v

Sunflower paced the house for the first few minutes the Luna left to fight, finally after 15 minutes she came over to me and settled down. "Do you think that mommy and daddy and everyone else will be fine?" She asked me looking at me with her big golden eyes, I smiled down at her and patted her head. "Your mommy is the strongest wolf I've ever met. She can take down the luna now, so don't worry yourself over it." A look of relief washed across her face, as she sat down next to me, suddenly the door was flung open in front of us. Quickly I pushed Sunflower behind me and bared my fangs, ready to protect my niece but quickly I felt the force of the stare from the shadowy figure, and my fangs quickly shrank down to human length. The strength and force of that stare… I’d only felt it once before, “g-grandma Anna? Is that you?” My voice came off as shaky and weak, sounding exactly how I felt after experiencing the full force of that glare. Now Rose can take down her mother, but she cannot get close enough to take down her grandmother. "Well. Now that those pesky fangs are away and your manners remembered, yes I'm here. I've heard from my son in law that my granddaughter found her mate, and vampires are causing trouble. Now tell me little girl, who is this baby behind you?" Sunflower took a step forward and smiled warmly, "I'm Sunflower, I guess you are mommy's granny. My new mommy's name is Rose." I looked at Sunflower, she never sounded so… grown up beyond her young age. She had always sounded childish like everyone expected since she was only six years old. Her posture was very respectful though her response was casual, grandma Anna and I were watching her, Sunflower squirmed under the heat of our gaze on her. "Great manners my dear, so Archard wasn't lying about an adopted daughter. Maybe I should put more faith in that boy, my little son in law." Her lips turned up in distaste, from what Rose told me, she disapproved of Archard the second she met him but knowing she cannot come between mates, she let her daughter and then future son in law be. Sunflower nodded and was about to respond when a voice called out from the middle of the stairs to get up to the house, "mother is that you? What are you doing here? Oh well come and meet Rose's mate, and as I'm sure you know Kai met his mate as well and she is pregnant already, isn't that right Belli? Hurry up now everyone." She had said in a cheerful singing voice, Anna just stared at her daughter for a few seconds, she knew that cheerful tone was deadly, then turned her gaze to me. I held onto Sunflower and glanced at grandma Anna, it's now or never, "yes… I'm pregnant, and Kai is my mate. My brother is Rose's mate." I said in a tone stronger than I had felt, honestly her power was rather scary to me like the force of her stare, you could feel the rage behind it and the shock. Her gaze is as powerful as daddy’s gaze was, you could feel it rip into you and shred you to pieces, it’s as if she can tell the lie from the truth just glancing at you. I watched Cahyra stroll past us toward the office, and various vampires and wolves walk past us and all nodded in respect to me. “Grandma Anna, what are you doing here? Why are you here?” All three of us looked at the entrance of the house, standing there was Rose, Kari and Axius. Sunflower ran over to the three of them and jumped into their arms, "Mommy, daddy, Axi! You're all safe!" She cried out as tears started spilling down her face, all of them held her and smiled. I looked at the door and felt worried, Kai has yet to come back to the house, “I was called here by your father. And what do I come here to see? My grandchildren’s mates are vampires?! What is wrong with you two, look at them, smell them! They smell like s**t and kill our kind more for game than a food source! Good thing I’m here, now we can end this unnatural mate business.” 

Rose’s P.o.v

Everyone in the room froze, hell even Axius looked as shocked as we felt from grandma’s words, I felt my brother’s anger so close and knew who was behind us. “What did you just say Grandma? End this, this ‘unnatural mate’ business? Excuse you? Who or what me and my sister’s mates are is none of your business, not yours to delve into on a whim just because you don’t approve who moon goddess made for us. Who are you to question the goddess and her choices for us? What if your mother or grandmother said that you and grandfather couldn’t be together because they didn’t like him?” In the blink of an eye Belli was hugging Kai tightly and he was holding her while maintaining eye contact with grandma, I glanced at her and saw that his words about grandfather had stung her but she shook her head and crossed her arms. “Rejection exists for a reason, even fully mated mates can reject the other and find their second chance partner. Moon goddess made second partners because mates can reject even with claim marks, the rejection makes the marks fade after a few weeks. If you don’t reject either of your mates, you will be disowned from this family.” Her tongue sharp like a knife, the words hit you like a slap in the face, and her posture radiated pure truth. She really would disown us and cut us off from her entire family, Kai just laughed darkly and approached grandma until he was less than a few inches from her and glared down at her, “try it. You may not see us as family any more but you can’t cut us from the pack, can you figure out why? Because then the current Alpha and Luna would be the ones that kick us out and make us rouges, and our parents are currently Alpha and Luna. They would never disown their children because of their mates. They accepted Belli into the pack the second we became fully mated, and rejoiced when Belli revealed her pregnancy. There is not a single thing you can do that’ll make them disown us, now if you’ll excuse us we have business to attend to.” Kai grabbed Belli’s hand and pulled her to the study, I looked at Sunflower and saw her squirming out of Kari’s hands into Axius’s arms and smiled. I held Kari’s hand and followed in Kai’s direction, not sparing grandma another glance, “you’re not going to say anything Rose? You know this is unnatural, yet you still go with it?” I kept walking but raised my voice so she could hear me clearly, “Kai was right, he said everything that needed to be said.” I kept walking and didn’t spare a glance back, ‘Rose that was rather bold of you and your brother. But hurry up you four, we need to get this meeting over with and send these vampires on their way.’ Mom said in the mindlink, sounding cheerful and that was scary. I shuddered involuntarily, and pulled Kari to match my pace, and Axius holding Sunflower picked up his pace as well. As we all entered the spacious office it felt as if it was cramped even though we could fit at least fifteen more people in the office. The tension in the room could cut diamonds into little pieces, which was rather unsettling. Mom had such a huge grin on her face that made all of us wolves keep our distance, we all know when the luna grins and acts cheerful that murder followes after. “Thank you for joining us you four, now why don’t we discuss this? Does my daughter and grandchild really have to leave to your dark, damp homelands to become queen? Why not move around here?” Everyone looked at mom and the vampires looked puzzled, did she really offer them to move down here? “Where would we move?” “Where would our homes be?” “When would they be built?” “Would we have to build them ourselves or would you help?” Questions floated around the room, I had questions as well for my mother. "Well mom, you heard the questions that were asked, what answers do you have?" I was rather curious what she was going to say, would she have all the answers? Mom smiled and stood up, she walked over to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "There is much land in our pack. And unlike other packs, our borders are not surrounded by other wolves, there is vast land around ours that is unclaimed, our entire pack can help you build homes and apartments. We can even help make a home just for my daughter and her mate, as magnificent as a castle. What do you say?"
