Chapter 3

833 Words
The day went by like a fresh chewing gum for Natasha, but fortunately, it eventually came to an end. Steve had been out of the way of Tony the whole day as he seemed to have made it his mission to glare at him. Natasha herself had expected no more enthusiasm from Stark - after all, she was also a little bit to blame for the decision. However, his disinclination was limited and although he was not really talkative to her that day, he did not avoid her and saved her the angry looks. Meanwhile, it was dark outside and Natasha sat on the window sill of the window in her room. Deep in thought, she stared down at the city skyline. She still did not know what to think about Barnes going in with bag and bag this morning - at least Steve had announced that. However, it was already clear to them that something would certainly change here. When suddenly her room door opened, she jumped slightly and turned her head in the direction. There, leaning against the doorframe, stood Clint and looked at her with a worried look. She looked at him and found that he had already got ready for the night. He was wearing a light gray shirt, as well as loose cloth pants and his blond-brown hair was a bit disheveled. "Hey," she murmured, giving him a faint smile, "hey," he replied, "can I come in." Natasha answered with a nod. Clint was exactly what she needed now to distract herself a bit. At least he always managed that. She watched him as he entered the room, closing the door behind him, before walking up to her and wrapping his arms around her. He rested his head on her shoulder and also looked outside, "What are you looking at?" "Nothing definite," she admitted, leaning gently against him, "I just thought a little bit." He also pressed lightly against her to give her a better grip. "About Barnes?" He breathed softly put her hands to her waist. She felt his breath on her neck and sighed. He knew her so well that it made no sense to deny it. "Hmm," she murmured, looking over her shoulder at him, his eyes worried and she could see in his eyes that he did not like to see them like that, "You can not sit here all night," he took her hand and asked her to look up: "Come to bed and tomorrow we'll see how it will be." Natasha thought for a moment, then gave in. After all, he was right about that. So she climbed down from the windowsill and let Clint gently pull her to the bed. He went to bed and pulled the blanket aside. Then he looked at her encouragingly. Immediately she followed him and dropped onto the free side of her bed. Then she covered them both and gently nestled against him. He reached out for her hand, gently placing her arm over his chest as she buried her head in the crook of his neck. It had always calmed her to sleep next to her best friend, because he managed to keep her nightmares away by his closeness and his warmth. Gently, he ran her free hand through her red curls and looked down at her. "Maybe you should talk to Steve," he suggested after a few seconds, in which both had been silent and enjoyed each other's closeness, and she looked up at him hesitantly, "Do you really think that's a good idea?" "Yes", his voice sounded honest and the look in his eyes was affectionate: "Otherwise he will surely ask for your help with Barnes and I know you. You can hardly say 'No' to your friends. "" But I can not tell him how I know Bucky, "she mumbled," You're the only Avenger who knows that, and somehow I want it to stay that way . " He knew that she wanted to push her past out of her memories, and what an overpowering that had cost her to talk to him about it. However, this had also created more openness between them and strengthened their confidence in each other. But he was also aware that she would not do it if she did not really want it and that pushing her to do something was wrong. "Just think about it, yes?", He simply said, pulling her a little closer to him: "I know that you will make the right decision for you." "Yes, I know", breathed "And I'm always with you, no matter what you choose," he went on, but they both knew it was not necessary, they both knew they would always be there for each other , Then he closed his eyes and lovingly began running a finger across her back in regular tracks. She did not answer, but just closed her eyes and listened to his breathing. But then both were overcome by sleep after some time.
