He would do this and he can do this, hopefully, his daughter; Kath would offer a solution. But then, he can't just make any selfish decision. He needs just one confirmation before he makes his final decision. "Kath, what's your suggestion on this? Should I hand the book over to you for you to give it a try?" The king questioned staring at Kath. She snugs her shoulders and answered, "Well, there's no harm in trying." That's all he needed. If she happens to be the chosen one, then that's his and her fate. Moreover, the great Akiko assured them that, whoever the chosen one would be, the gods of their ancestors would protect him or her. The king nodded his head in conclusion and stuck his hand in his clothes and almost brought out the book when these thoughts suddenly came into his head. What if Ravana hunts her? He seems to have forgotten the fact that Ravana was still in their midst and if he sees him handing the book over to her then, he would definitely hunt her and might even take the book away from her. The king shook his head and brought his hands out from his clothes before saying, "We all seem to be forgetting the fact that Ravana might still be in our midst, so I can't hand this book over to her as he would definitely hurt her." "You lack strength but then, you are a little bit smart. I will so hunt her if you hand that book over to her. I will make sure I take that book away from her even if it means, killing her. So, don't.you.dare!" That creepy voice whispered furiously into King's ear. The king could feel shills running through his spine. Ravana is obviously threatening him with his daughter's life. Ravana meant what he said to him. He could feel and hear the terror and vibration in Ravana's voice when he whispered those words to him. This time, Ravana really meant his words. The king tilt his head and said with an of evident fear in his tone, "Ravana is threatening me with Kath's life. He just whispered to me that, if I hand the book over to Kath, he would hunt her to get the book back even if it means taking her life." The people were taken aback as terror seized them all. They stood still and speechless by the king's words. He would take her life if the book would be handed over to her? Like seriously? They can't even make a simple attempt to get a solution all because Ravana is in their midst! This is quite frustrating. Kath sat down stunned on her seat. Ravana can only threaten the king for a reason, just one reason which she was sure of, and was about to voice it out; not until a manly voice Interrupted her. "Now I understand. At this point, there is a huge possibility that Kath might be the chosen one. Ravana is trying all things and making sure the book won't be handed over to her cause she might terminate his plans once she reads the book and find the answers we need to know in it." What the man said does make sense to the king, the princess, and everyone in the palace as they nodded their heads in agreement with his statement. Now, knowing fully well that, Kath, "might," be the chosen one; how can they hand over the book to Kath without Ravana's knowledge. The solution was right in front of them but, they can't make any attempt to get the solution. "Have been wondering, if Ravana wants this book, why haven't he like, taken the book away from the king. That's quite easy for Ravana, you know." A man stated amid the crowd and immediately, the king uses his hand to feel the book in his cloth to be sure Ravana haven't taken the book away without his knowledge. He breathe out a sigh of relief when he felt the book in his clothes. "Ravana has other intention. This intention is best known to him. But for now, we should be concerned about the princess's safety and not make any selfish decision that would be harmful to her." The king suggested and leaned his back on his throne. Yeah, that would be a selfish decision if he hands this book over to her, and then, her life becomes at risk. He wasn't willing to lose her now. If true, she was the chosen one, the book will find its way to her. Besides, it isn't officially confirmed yet if she was the chosen one, then why put her life at risk for it? "Since there is no other thing to discuss here, let's get to rest!" The king has to end the meeting to avoid any further pressure or conversation in handing over the book to her; more like, putting her life at risk. He has to avoid it, maybe, someday, when it is not too late, he would hand over the book to her, but not now. And even though the people were not satisfied with the almost meaningless gathering they had, they have to oblige to the king's instruction. They started walking out until they were finally gone and now, just the king and his daughter were left in the huge hall of the palace. Once Kath was sure that they were all gone, she opened her mouth to say something, but her dad was too fast to stop her. "Kath, go get some sleep or whatever. Am surely not handing the book over to you no matter what you say. Goodnight!" And with that said, the king stood on his feet and walked casually to his room. The King knew that Kath would definitely be willing to take the risk. He knew his daughter more than she knows herself. No, he wasn't ready to shed tears for anyone. He didn't make this decision not only because Ravana has pulled a threat on him, but for the fact that, if she happens to be the chosen one, there would be a huge task and responsibilities for her. His daughter was just too feminine for this. He's eighteen years old daughter was too young to handle being the chosen one. Kath on the other hand stared at her dad's restricting figure until he was finally out of sight. She knew she was willing. Like, if she was the chosen one, then why can't she take the risk? She could read the book and gets her answers before Ravana starts hunting her. Okay, Ravana is smart! He wouldn't let her read it talk more of, letting her find the answers to take him down. She would definitely convince her dad someday to hand the book over to her. **** The reflection of light through the window and the chirping sounds of birds has woken Kath up so early in the morning. She uses her hand to rub her still sleepy eyes as she slowly sat on the mat. Well, it is a new day, which is approximate, four days after Ravana descended. She has a task which she definitely needs to accomplish. She needs and has to convince her dad. It will definitely take forever as she knew her dad would be unwilling to do so. But, she has to do it for the sake of the people of Nazirites. She steps out of her room towards the king's room. Halfway towards the king's room, she tripped on something; lost her balance, and fell really hard on the floor. She groaned in pain as she could feel the surge of pain all over her body. She struggles to stand on her feet using her right hand as support but then, she felt something wrap itself around her left foot. It pulled her back as she slammed her head really hard on the floor. At this point, her head began to spin. Her head felt like it might fall off any moment from now. What could that be? Something was still wrapped firmly on her left foot; like, she could feel it. She placed her right hand behind her neck as she bent her head to see what it was. What she saw got her devastated and at the same time, stunned. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw five fingers from under the floor wrapped firmly around her left leg; specifically, her ankle. At this point, all that she could do was... Scream at the top of her lungs out of freight.
