Chapter 29

Yeah, thou, she was aware of the fact that the man in question was no longer her dad, but taking up her dad's identity will always make her miss her dad whenever she sees him. "What about those bodies you took away from us?" Kath questioned. About the bodies, it just came to her knowledge that Ravana didn't only have her dad in his custody, but also those dead soldiers who died while trying to defeat Ravana on the first day are descended. They are still nowhere to be found after they suddenly vanished on that day. Kath knew Ravana was responsible for that. Did he take them in his custody to do exactly what he wants to do with her dad, or for some other purposes which are yet to be known? "I made half of them, my servant, and the rest of them have been used for something else. I will show you, Kath, an example any moment from now." Ravana replied. Has been used for something else? Like, Ravana had other reasons why he took them away from other than making them his servant? Ravana is so mysterious and hard to understand as his main purposes are even more mysterious than he is "What did you use the rest of them for? Hopefully, my brother didn't fall into any of your selfish desires?" A man asked throwing daggers at the invisible Ravana. "Of course, I did use him for my selfish desire and I will admit, I enjoyed every bit of him: he was so delicious!" Ravana replied sarcastically. Kath bats her lashes in astonishment after the word, 'delicious,' had fully registered him in her brain. What?! Delicious? Do they eat humans here, like what the hell? Or does the word, 'delicious,' has another meaning attached to it that she didn't know of? "Do you feed on humans here?" Kath questioned trying to clear her doubts, and at the same time, hoping that, she probably misunderstood the word, 'delicious.' But seriously speaking, if they eat humans here, then, they are all doomed! "I didn't say that. You will find out yourself any moment from now." Replied Ravana. They turned to look at themselves with raised brows, throwing questions at themselves with their brows. If only their brows could speak at the same time, give answers to questions, that would be one thing they will be most grateful for, right now. Since Ravana was somewhere around them, they can't speak comfortably as he will, undoubtedly listening to their conversations. But with that word, 'delicious,' that Ravana had just mentioned, it has so many questions attached to it. "The game will begin tomorrow. Get some rest." His sudden words have got them startled and at the same time stunned. Get some rest? Is he kidding right now? How can they get some rest when they are all tied to a tree and can't move freely? And also, not after they have heard him mention that word, 'delicious.' For the hundredth time, they turned to look at themselves yet again. They obviously had a lot of questions to ask, but they wanted to be sure Ravana wasn't listening nor would he hear their conversation. Exactly ten minutes later, a soldier asked but with a low tone, "Am sorry but I can't hold it in anymore, is there another meaning attached to the word, 'delicious?" A soldier asked when he felt like exploding with the questions boiling inside of him. The same question Kath has been wanting to ask. "As far as I am concerned, the word delicious is..." "Please, do not say it. Do not make me agree to what I am thinking right now, cause if what I am thinking is the truth, then we are all screwed." "Are you just realizing it now? We've been screwed a very long time ago." This conversation went on amid the soldiers and the only thing Kath could do was stare at them. Well, the same way they were confused about that word, 'delicious,' same way Kath was. Did Ravana by chance, said that word just so, he could throw them into confusion? Or truly, they do eat humans here. But then again, he practically told them that he was going to show them an example any moment from now, does that signify that one of them will be used as an example to show the rest how he and his monsters have been eating the soldier's he killed? Gosh! The whole situation is getting more twisted. "Princess, do you have an idea of where your dad kept the book?" A girl asked an Immediately she asked this question, Kath knew she was referring to the book of, the descendants of the black moon. She has thought of that and has absolutely no idea of where her dad kept the book. Like, even if she does have an idea of where the book is been kept, is it possible to get the book especially now that they are been tied to a tree and have absolutely no idea of their whereabouts? She shook her head and replied, "no." "We are screwed! How can we get out of here before he eats all?" A soldier asked as he could already feel the beads of sweat on his forehead. Like, without that book in their custody, it is impossible to get out of Ravana's possession as he would kill them all, and they can't do anything about it. "Princess!" A soldier whispered trying to get Kath's attention. Kath diverted her gaze to his direct and he proceeded, "I have an idea of where the king has kept the book!" The soldier said with a look of assurance on his face. The people of Nazirites instead turned to look at him wondering how he has gotten the knowledge of, where the book is been kept even when they had no idea of it. They all stared at him with wide-opened eyes in anticipation of what the soldier had to say. Kath nodded her head urging him to continue, " back then when the king wanted to hand over the book to you in the palace, I saw him stuck his hands..." He stopped talking when he saw a monster walking in their direction. Oh s**t! Where did he come out from? The soldier instantly alerted the rest and they all kept a straight face and pretended like there weren't any form of conversation before he walked in. He got to them and started walking right in front of them with his gaze fixed at them as if, he was having an inspection on them, with his eyes. They all tried as much as possible to avoid his stares with their eyes fixed into space. When he got right in front of the soldier who had an idea of where the book is been kept, he stopped walking and stared into his eyes for some seconds, after which, he started walking casually around him with his hands locked behind his back. The soldier's breath caught up in his throat and he found it very difficult to swallow. This is one terrible-looking monster, and, why the hell is he checking him out with such an intense gaze? Geez! He is dying already! The monster's gaze on him was enough to have him killed. The monster walked right in front of him and before they realized it, he was nowhere to be found: he vanished right in front of them. "What... just happened?!" The soldier asked breathlessly trying to catch his breath. So many frightening questions raced through his mind: has Ravana been listening to their conversation all along, and has sent a monster as a warning them? Now that he has been caught, will he be the first person to get killed in the jungle? He wasn't the only one scared, everyone automatically had to shake legs and hands when the monster suddenly walked upon them. The frightening monster's gaze on them, had them praying that they wouldn't be dead just by his stares. "Gosh! Did you see that stare? His gaze was literally all over him as if, he was about to chop his head off." Another soldier said, also trying to catch his breath and at the same time, trying to recover from the event that took place a while ago. Generally, they were all still trying to recover from what happened a while ago. How can he suddenly appear right in front of them and without saying a word, he vanished. Like, seriously? What does he expect them to do now? "Like seriously, I thought I was gonna pass out when the monster appeared from nowhere. I think Ravana and his monsters have been listening to our conversation the whole time. Like, exactly when he was about to give the answer we've been waiting for, a monster walked up on us and stared at him. I think that's just a warning to you." A member of Nazirites said, directing his speech to the soldier. "So, we can't communicate now? Like seriously? Are we supposed to stand here all day without saying a word?" The soldier closest to Kath said with frustration evident in his tone. He would have run his hands through his hair if his hands weren't tied to the tree. "So, how can we get the answers we need if we are not allowed to say a word? How do we know where the book is been kept if we can't communicate?" A man at the left-hand side of Kath asked. There was a moment of silence as known of then knew what to say or do next. Thou, they were communicating now, but they knew they can't exceed that limit; they knew they can't go deeper into the conversation as Ravana might punish them by eating them up or using the answers they give to get what he wants. "Probably..." A soldier was saying when he saw three monsters walking toward them, alongside the exact monster who came not quite long to check them out or whatever he came for. He alerted the rest and they became still and silent with so many questions running through their minds. What's are the three monsters coming to do to them this time? Has it gotten to the time when Ravana told them he would show them what he was been doing to the dead soldier? If truly he was about to show them an example, does it implies that he would feed on one of them just to show the rest an example? Holy cow, there are doomed! Who would be so unfortunate to be used as an example?
