Chapter 28

Unedited: Will be edited, later in the day. And then, everything went blank. Kath watched her dad the whole time and couldn't believe that this was happening. Hold on, her dad is dead already? Just like that, the monster killed him? He killed the only person in this world she could easily confide in. Watching her dad drenched in his own blood; laying down lifeless on the ground had almost made her passed out. "You will regret this. I will make sure you will." Kath yelled even without thinking. Thinking? She knew she can't think straight at the moment, as her head were completely filled with the images of her dead dad. She knew the words she said now, she said with wholeheartedly and really meant her words this time, but how to accomplish it, was what she will think about later on after her head had calmed down as was ready to receive other thoughts, aside from images of her dead dad. To her last blood, she will make sure she fights, until she sees the regrets on their faces for what they have done to her, this day. Perhaps, only then can she forgive herself for bringing death onto her father. "Make us regret? I would love to see that." The monster replied sarcastically and Kath could already picture herself slamming his head to the wall, but then, the floor which had trapped her legs was her only objection. "I know you will be proud to see your king working under Ravana's subject to fight against you. You should be grateful that, at least, your king now has the opportunity to posses supernatural powers just like Ravana does. This is once in a life time achievement. Being like Ravana is one of the greatest accomplishment one could ever have." The monster said with a weird smile on his face as Kath glared at him. Did her dad ever mention to him that he wanted to be like Ravana? Did he? After forcing this on him, he had the gusts to say it was an achievement. Since his lame head sees this as an achievement, she can't detect how this seems like an achievement in anyway. "You will regret this, I promise you." Kath repeated with an optimistic spirit this time. She can't tell how it will happen but, she will make them regret what they have done to her dad, someday. "And I repeat, I would love to see you makeing us regret. Well, it can be possible, only in your dreams," the monsters hesited for a while as the little smile slipped out and now, he has the expressionless clenched jaw face, as he said his next words, "it is time. I command the ground, the ceiling and the walls to listen to my commandments right now. You all, should go deep down into the ground." When he said those words, he vanished and instantly, long cracks traveled through the walls until it got to the ceiling and now, little parts of the brick walls came breaking down on their heads and the ground which they were standing on began to shake incontrollably. Inspite of all this, Kath seems so lost staring at her dad who laid lifeless on the floor. Her dad has always been a good and the most caring father one could ever have and ever wish for, so she was confident his soul will certainly rest in peace. She closed her eyes as the last drop of tears rolled down her cheek. She could feel the concrete on which she stands on breaking down, thereby taking her downwards. She could hear the sounds of the breaking wall of the palace as some parts of the walls hit her really hard on her head but Kath seems not the feel the pain of it. She has felt so may pains and the brick wall slamming really hard on her head can't be compared to all the pains she has felt. Surprisingly, Kath wasn't scared of everything that was happening right in front of her cause, as far as she was concerned, the only thing that could make her so scar, which they have already done, so what worst can they do her after what they have done to her today. She was ready to face anything, to challenge anything as long as she stays alive to revenge her dad's death. They could do whatever they want to her, but as long as she stays alive to revenge her dad's death, then she is fine with whatever they might do to her. The people of Nazirites feared tremendously. The walls of the palace were already breaking and ceilings of the palace might collapse any moment from now. Not only does the walls of the ceiling breaking, the concrete for which they stand on where already breaking and they were gradually moving into the ground. Are they finally going to meet Ravana in person? Are they going to participate in the game they have been anticipating for a very long time? They feared that, wherever they will be headed will be even more dangerous than whatever they have experienced. Hopefully, even if they have to die, their death won't be a very dangerous one. *********** "Well, well, well, see who we have here!" Those words from a deep manly voice had ring deep down into the soul of Kath as she struggled to get her eyes opened. Once she manages to get her eyes opened, her sight was really blurry and she had to close them and reopen her eyes again. Her blurry sight gradually became to get a little bit clear until it was completely clear. At first, what she saw seems like it was her imagination not until she bat her lashes repeatedly and then, the creature was still right in front of her staring deep down into her soul. Out of freight and astonishment, she screamed at the top of her lungs and other screams and yells from different people followed suit. What the hell is this? A monster? Is this how a monster looks like? A scary looking; quite unexplainable creature was standing right in front of her, staring deep into her eyes. He would be around eight to nine feet tall that he had to bend his back just to look into Kath's face. His deformed face was enough reason to poke at the sight. His dark huge winds could envelop two humans at the same time; when he snarled at her, his awful black teeth: some were missing, some where longer than the rest came on full display. This definitely not a sight behold. "Can you please, take some steps back? You breath stinks." Kath let out without thinking the words in her heads. His breath was disastrous that she couldn't think of anything else other than his stinking breath. The monster turned to his right; turned his back on her before walking into a corner. Finally! She can now think properly. The last thing she remembered was the walls of the palace breaking down and even the ground she and the people of Naziriyes was standing on was sinking down. So, where is she now? She uses her eyes to scan her surrounding. When her eyes when up, she came in contact with the with an unusual colour of a sky; the left hand side of the sky was blue while the right hand side was yellow in colour. She furrowed her brows and look around her for the second time and realised that she was in a... jungle? Is this a jungle? She could see weathered leaves on the ground and tall trees beside her. At one end, a blazing fire was burning tremendously and she could see people, more like monsters walking in it. Are they still in the world? Or somewhere in the realm of the unknown? And besides, where are the people of Nazirites she came down her with? Or, is she hear alon... "Damn! Who the hell are you?!" Someone yelled beside her and she diverted her gaze to where the voice came from. There, she met the people of Nazirites: each and everyone of them were tired to a very tree behind her. The man which had earlier yelled had just woken up a while ago and the first thing his eyes came on contact with was a monster staring down at him and he had to yell since it was the first time he has seen such a creature. Kath uses her eyes to scan herself and realised that she was also used to a very tall tree. A very thick rope was bounding them still with the tree. Struggling to break loose was definitely not an option cause, it can never be possible to break lose from the thick ropes that are bound to their bodies. "After a week of being unconscious, you all have finally woken up. Isn't that amazing?" A deep voice echoes three times in the jungle as they use their eyes to search where exactly the voice was coming from but found nothing. But, did they hear him right? A week of been unconscious? How can they be unconscious for a whole week? Everything that happened back then in the hall seems like it happened some few minutes ago, so how... maybe because, they were no longer on the world they used to be so, a day in their world seems is a weak here. "Hello all, I am Ravana. The leader of the descendants of the black moon, and I will be your game leader." Again, this words echoes in the jungle and they turned around to see who were saying this words but found no one. On the jungle, all the monster they had seen back then was no where to be found. They were all left alone to probably, stare at themselves. Game leader? The game had just started? Just like that? So fast? "This is not a game where you play to survive, but a game where you play to... die. At the end of the day, you end up dying. Knowing fully well that this game will only bring you death, that doesn't mean you won't partake in the game whole heartedly. You will do whatever you are asked to, it is a must!" Again, they heard Ravana's voice from echoing in their ears. Gosh, did he connect his voice to their ears? But, isn't this a silly game? A game where you have to play to die, a game where you are forced to die. This is unlike every game. As far they they knew, such game were been played to survive and not to die. "What then is the essence of this game when you can just take our lives?" Kath finally spoke up after much thoughts. She can't just figure out the essence of the long awaited game. "For fun of course. Don't you think it will be too boring to just take your lives? I know you won't be happy about that. You need to catch some fun before you die. Don't you think that is a nice idea?" Ravana said nonchalantly and had a small loud. Since they couldn't see his face, they had predicted that, the little sound they heard was Ravana laughing mockingly at them. "But, what have we done to you to deserve all this. Our forefathers made the covenant with you and not us. So, why do we have to be entangled with you and your stupid games. For the fact that you took my father's life because all of all this makes me sick already." Kath asked as when I dad got stabbed flashed back in her head and she was beginning to tear up already. Today, Kath has finally decided to let all the questions she has been holding in for so long, out, cause she was getting frustrated about the whole issue, and how they were getting tormented to what they have absolutely no idea of. "Your forefather's made a covenant with me, and he said it to my face that if he fails to redeem his vows, then I can have his people; your forefathers sold you all to me and gave me the right to rule over you all. I was so kind all this year's and waited till 2000 years later when I was ready to have my revenge. And for your dad's death, it is totally your fault. I didn't kill him but you did. The decision you made killed him. So, do not put that blame on me." When Ravana said this word, Kath felt so much pain in her. An indescribable pain that could make her go nuts. Yes, she agrees to the fact that she was part of the reasons her dad died, but can he stop saying it to her face? She doesn't want to hear those words cause it reminds her of being a terrible daughter. But at the same time, all this happened because of the so called forefathers that made a covenant with Ravana. Had it been they was no stupid covenant, Nazirites would have been a calm and peaceful place. And her dad wouldn't have been dead by now. She would have been living peacefully with her dad. She haven't really thought of all this, cause, at first she saw reasons why her forefathers made that covenant with Ravana. Yes, she gets it, they were trying to win a war, they were losing and wanted to win, but why do they have to make use them as the sacrifice? Why do they have to put them in the hands of a monster? This isn't right, this is not just right. "And if you are to blame someone for everything that happened to Nazirites and your king, your ancestors are to blame. I didn't give them the offer, they came to beg me, crawling on their knees for powers to win a war. I gave them the power they requested for after making a vow with them which they failed to redeem. So, what do you expect me to do then, keep quiet and let their souls rest in peace? They need to see their people suffering so, even in the grave they lay on, their conscience will always point fingers at them." They could hear the seriousness in Ravana's voice this time. They could hear how his voice held hatred and they knew this time, he wasn't joking. He was bent on destroying their lives so, their ancestors will always feel guilty wherever they are now. "But, the power you gave them didn't cost you anything, so why do you have to make a vow with them that they couldn't redeem? Just so you could do with us?" A soldier asked. They could hear the last chuckle of Ravana as he said, "young man, you haven't heard of the vow I made with them and you are already concluding that, I made them made a vow they couldn't redeem. The agreement I made with them wasn't that difficult. We made an agreement that if they win the war, then each and everyone of them, must sacrifice their last child to me and because they were so eager to win the war, they agreed to it. That was one of the easiest agreement I have ever made with anyone. You can sacrifice one to me and give birth to other children in the future. But after your ancestors won the war, they never came back; they never did. I waited and waited for years but they never did. And so, I decided to go with the second option they gave me of having you all in my possession. I was so patient: so patient that I waited all this without descending in Nazirites. I have always had my eyes on Nazirites over the last 2000 years, watching and looking for a right time to have my revenge and I decided to do that this year. And even of the powers I gave them cost me nothing, have this in mind, no one, I mean absolutely no one has ever dared with me and go scot me." Ravana replied. "After you've done all this, what then is your aim." Another soldier asked. "My aim, of course is to dominate your land. I and my monsters will eradicate that name, 'Nazirites,' and bring up our own name. We will love and dominate your land. At first, I wanted to just kill you all and them, dominate your land, but its been a while now since I had fun, and so, I came up with this game." When Ravana said this words, they could hear the excitement in his tone. He really wanted this game; his tone sounded like he has been craving for this game for a very long time now. "Where are we?" Kath asked using her eyes to scan her surrounding for the hundred time, cause no matter how many times she has checked, this place still feels weird to her. "Somewhere unknown. I also do not have an idea of where we are?" Ravana replied sarcasm dripping out from his tone. It was so obvious that, Ravana doesn't want to mention the location he has brought them to. Are they close to Nazirites? Is there a reason he is hiding the location they are? "You are one millions miles away from Nazirites. And there is no reason as to why I am hiding it, cause if ever I mention the name of the location you are right now, is of no use because, you have never ever heard of the place." Ravana replied to Kath's thoughts. There he goes again. Going into her head whenever he likes was one thing Kath hates the most. Her eyes widened when she realised she haven't seen her dad the whole time. She thought that monster said, he will be killed for Ravana to dominate his body to use him against them. How come she haven't set her eyes on her dad the whole time? Kath wanted to see him even if it means a demon possessing his body as long as he has gotten the same facial looks with her dad, then she is fine with it. "Where then is my dad?" Kath questioned. "Your dad?" Ravana laughed and had a small laugh before continuing, "young lady, your dad is dead. I will make his dead body mine by possessing it to be one of my monsters. You know what I love most? Is using your beloved your fight you. And that is exactly the reason why, I will give him an higher authority over the rest. He will be the next in command and I will make sure to use his body to my satisfaction. But, if you are concerned about someone that isn't your dad, then I will let you know of his whereabout. He is currently in the coven receiving powers; powers to use against you all, most especially you, Kath." Ravana said the last part more specifically. Yeah, thou, she was aware of the fact that the man in question was no longer her dad, but taking up her dad's identity will always make her miss her dad whenever she sees him.
