Chapter 30

2001 Words
Holy cow, there are doomed! Who would be so unfortunate to be used as an example? "This is the moment where I wish the king was here with us, at least, we wouldn't have been the confused." A soldier muttered today himself almost shivering. Kath could her him as her conscience reminder her of the terrible thing she has done to not only her but to the people of Nazirites. Truly, what the soldier said was nothing but the truth. No matter how hard the situation which they find themselves in was, her dad will always find a solution, or try to offer a solution even if she doesn't work out sometimes, but at least, he tried. But now, with his absent, they felt so confuse and have no idea of what to do. Since her dad was no more, she knew she should at least, take up his position in anyway she could and direct them on what to do. But her dummy head can't think of a anything right now. Now, she knows and feels the responsibility her dad has always carried on his soldier as a king, but yet, she added to his responsibility by trying to save her and then she ended up dying. She knew the people of Nazirites were trying to be kind to her by not saying it to her face that, yes! She killed her dad. She wouldn't blame them for it thou, not would she retialiate, cause yeah, they have the right to speak the obvious truth. "Geez, there are coming, there are coming close to me!" She could hear a man muttered beside her with panic evident in his tone. She raise her head to see what was coming after him and then, her eyes cane in contact with one of the monsters. Oh s**t! She was so lost in thoughts that she totally forgot a monster was somewhere around them. She diverted her gaze to stare at something else; just anything else just to avoid his gaze. The monster suddenly stopped walking and took some steps backwards and stopped right in front of the soldier who had an idea of where the book is been kept. The monster who had earlier came to check on him nodded his head to the two monsters who came with his this time. Again, they started walking around him using their eyes to scan his whole body and they suddenly stopped right in front of him with their dark eyes never leaving his body. Kath and the people of Nazirites silently wondered what their intention truly was? Their gaze on him was enough to make him pass out. They could almost feel how he must be feeling right now. Hopefully, he wouldn't be the unfortunate one to be used as an example to them. Of this happen, then they are all screwed. The soldier at this point was beginning to find it difficult to breath. For crying put loud, how can he breath when, not just a monster but three monsters are walking round him? How can he? Coupled with the fact that, he couldn't read not could he tell their intentions. Their dark wings was one thing he was trying to avoid. The wings seems like it must have blown him off a long time ago if he weren't tied to that tree. The moment the monsters stopped walking and stood right in front of him with their dark eyes piercing in his skin, he knew he might pass out at any moment. Three scary-looking monsters had this whole attention on him, isn't that enough reason to be considered dead by now? And, why do they have their whole focus on him? Can't they give him some breathing space, cause they whole situation is beginning to get quite confusing to him. A monster snapped his fingers and the ropes around him fell off and immediately, two monsters monsters grabbed his elbows. "Let go of me!" The soldier exclaimed, trying his very best to get his hands off their grip but to no avail as they were way too stronger than he was. Despite his several attempt to get his hands of their grips, the monsters didn't feel it one bit. He was more like a baby to them. They were eight to nine feet tall and could be considered as a giant while he was just six feet tall. In fact, he almost couldn't find him self in their midst. "Hey! Where the hell are you taking him to?" Kath questioned  "We are gonna have him for dinner." The monster replied. His deep husky voice had them almost trembling. Well, she never really expected to get a reply from him, but thankfully, he di... "Wait, what?! Dinner?!" Kath exclaimed after the words had fully registered in her head.  Dinner? Like, they were gonna eat him up? Seriously? Why him? Why did they choose to feed on him first? The only person who seems to have an idea of where the book is been kept is about to get eaten up by a freaking monster? How will they survive? Can they really survive all this? Why is Ravana so bent on ruining that life that the only hope they have is about to get feed on. "You are gonna have me for dinner? Why me? Please, I beg of you, do not let me die this way." The soldier pleaded, as he could already feel the sting of tears at the back of his eyes. Why does he have to be the first to get killed? To think that after his death, he will get feed on made him realised that, his death will be a terrible one. "Can you please go of him and let's talk?"  She has no idea of what she was gonna say to the monsters; she would thinks about that later on, as long as they get distracted from the soldier, then she is fine. "Talk? Little girl, if you are looking for someone to talk to, then talk to Ravana. We don't listen to anyone else except Ravana." And without letting the words sink into head, their grip on the soldier tightened and they flew to the burning fire twenty feets away from them. Talk to Ravana? He should have at least give her an idea of how she could get the attention of Ravana so, she could speak to him, or, is he somewhere around her? "Ravana?" She called but got no response. Okay, that's it, they are all doomed. "Princess, what are we gonna do now, we can't just stay still and watch the only person who has an idea of where the book is been kept die right on front of us? How can we stop them before something silly happens right now?" So many questions from the soldiers came ringing right in the ears of Kath. What can she do? She needs to think! She needs to king real quick! "Stop! Stop right now!" She yelled and the only reply is got was the chirping sounds of birds on the tree. Okay, that was... suppose to at least, get... the attention of the monsters. They didn't even, bother to see what has git her yelling. "Oh, I have an idea," a soldier said and struggled to use his hands to feel his body, but stopped and turned to Kath, "I can't find the little knife I kept in my undergarments before Ravana descended fge second time. It was suppose to be here, right here." The soldier said tapping his hands on his thigh. "Of course, Ravana isn't stupid. While we were unconscious for a week, he must have done a lot of check up on us to make sure we are harmless. Remember, we all had a sword stuck to our clothes but look at us now, there is nothing on us all. I will say, Ravana intentionally made us unconscious for a whole week just so, he would have enough time to do whatever he intends to." A man replied to the soldier's concern. After they have all said this, they all diverted their gaze to where they have taken the soldier to and the next thing they saw had kept them in confusion as to, if they should continue watching or watch cautiously.  The soldier that was about to be used for a dinner had been stripped n***d. At first, Kath couldn't believe her eyes and she had to bat her lashes for an hundred times before she finally believes that, what is seeing wasn't her imagination, but it was happening in reality. She cleared her throat and turned to look at anything else other than the soldier which have been stripped n***d. It was her first time seeing a man's nakedness, so seeing this right now was completely odd to her.  But, why do they have to do this right in front of everybody? Obviously, the soldier will definitely feel embarrassed after been stripped n***d right in front of everyone. Ravana sure has his way of doing things. Ravana does his thing without thinking of how his prey must have felt. This is beyond embarrassing. The soldier on the other hand was still finding my difficult to believe that, an elderly man like him was standing n***d right in front of everyone and even the people he was older than. He haven't felt this embarrassed in his entirely. But with they aside, the heat from the raging fire almost had his skin burning. Since he was clothless, he works feel every bit of the heat on his body.  His feet and hands at gone numb and his body had turned in the darkest shade of red. Aside killing his and having him for dinner, standing beside this raging fire; clothless, was enough to be considered as a punishment. "This is beginning to get out of hands. They shouldn't have stripped him n***d, that's in human." A soldier voice out forgetting the fact that, they weren't human, so whatever they do now, was normal in their sight. They could see the three monsters stretched their hands towards the sky and a sword appeared in their hands. "Okay that's quite shocking but, are they gonna use that one him?" A soldier asked thoughtfully, with his whole attention fixed at the scene. Though, he never really expected a reply but, some one closed to him chooses to give him a reply, "I think so. So, what are we gonna do now?" The man said and swerved his gaze to Kath as she rolled her eyes. Why are they always directing such questions to her? Yeah, she acknowledges the fact that she was the princess of Nazirites and was suppose to offer an answer to every questions just like her dad does, but at the same time, they seems to be forgetting the fact that she was just eighteen; just eighteen and the situation at hand was way too bigger than her.  She shook her head and said, "I have absolutely no idea," and sighed afterwards. Kath drew away her gaze from the soldier, back to the scene. And before, she could picture the whole incident, the soldier's heads were already laying the on the ground. "What?! Did they just cut off his head?" A man asked not believing his eyes. Probably, he needed a word a confirmation to be sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. After the monsters had cut off his head, they picked his head up and threw it into the fire. One could easily see the stains of bloods on their clothes and their faces which they seems not to care about. Obviously, they were already used to killing humans.  Okay, now that the only hope they have in getting to the book is confirmed dead, how will they live their lives in the possession of Ravana? Is this like a revenge on him for trying to give them a solution?
