Chapter 19

"I am officially having my second return today!"  After taking several shuddering breaths to catch her breath, these words finally registered in her brain. Ravana has decided to have his second return today? She is screwed; generally, they are all screwed. Never did she expect it to turn out this way. Never did she. She was only trying to make an attempt to save the people and not put them in danger. She opened her mouth to say something, for at least, self-defense of whatsoever. Though, no words could fully register in her brain for now but, she has to say something. Probably, plead with to spare her life and at the same time to maybe consider giving then some more days. Would he listen to her? As far as she knew, Ravana only does what he intended to, so will he consider her this… "No, I am not. You could admit to the fact that I did that once. I wasn't selfish and I told the King to warn you not to and you decided to go against my wish. I don't consider twice I…" A knock on the door interrupted his speech. Finally! Kath was a little bit relieved that someone might have come for her rescue in the most crucial conditions she has ever been in. She felt a surge of relief all over her. She needs him to be at least distracted from her so she could maybe look for some other escape route if the door won't be available. She turned around to look at the window. Probably, she could jump off the window. But, can she survive this? The distance from the window to the ground is so… "Do not think or act foolish else, you would regret it!" Ravana said as another knock from the door echoed in the room. How can he get into her head all the time? He could easily read her mind and then knows her plans before it can be executed. Isn't that frustrating? What is she gonna do now? Make plans without having it in her mind or what? "Go away. The king is having a conversation with his daughter?" Ravana said to whoever was behind the door as he turned to look at her with a raised brow. Yeah, she understood that looks; the look of, "what are you gonna do now?" At this point, Kath could feel her heart-melting. Like, what the heck! Truly, what would she do now? Scream for help so, her dad could hear her? Shit! She wasn't supposed to think that, she was supposed to act without thinking. She knew by now, Ravana must have read her mind.  When she looked at Ravana, he smirked and shook his head slowly. Okay, that's it! He has already read her mind. Plan failed! "If I may ask, wh… what king are you talking about? Whoever is in there should let me get into my room!" The King exclaimed from behind the door. He twisted the doorknob and muttered to himself, "besides, the door wasn't locked when I left my room, so, how come…" The king hesitated for a while before exclaiming, "I know someone is in there, so kingly let me get into my room." Again, the king paused in expectation of whoever was going to get his room door opened but, he suddenly realized that he haven't set his eyes on his daughter all day. He turned to look at the bodyguard beside him, "Have you seen the Princess?" He questioned as the bodyguard shook his head in response to the question the king asked. "Then, what are you still waiting for? Go search for her!" The king commanded as the bodyguard ran over to Kath's and two other bodyguards followed suits. The King uses his leg to kick the door aggressively and exclaimed, "what the hell is going on in there? Who's in there? What are you doing in my room? Say something!" The king vents out in anger and frustration. He uses his other leg to kick the door and twisted the doorknob aggressively, "If you are not going to let me into my room, at least, say something. Like, why are you in there? What is your mission..." "King, we can't find her!" The bodyguard which he had earlier sent to search for his daughter; said, cutting him mid-sentence. The King turned to look at him and asked, "you've checked everywhere in the palace and around the palace?" "Yes, we have. The only place we haven't searched is..." The bodyguard hesitated and dart his eyes in the direction of the king's room, "your room!" He completed and diverted his gaze back to the king. At this point, the king is beginning to sense that, something is certainly wrong. His daughter doesn't leave the palace without his consent. Yes! She might go for a stroll. But, around the palace not somewhere far from the palace. This is uncommon and it feels weird to him. By this time, the people of Nazirites were already gathered at the front door of the king. They also stood with the king at the front door of his room wondering about the princess's sudden disappearance. Since the bodyguards have searched everywhere in and around the palace, they are stuck at the front door of the king's room until it is officially confirmed if the princess is in there or not. At the same time, they suspected that the only reason for the princess's sudden disappearance would be, perhaps, Ravana has taken her away. Not only was the people having this thought, but the King also was. This was his greatest fear. He could likewise feel the haze of fear surrounding him as frightening thoughts raced through his mind. What if... Ravana has truly taken her away? Does it mean, he has completely lost his daughter? Will he use her to work against them and even him? He stood ruthless to the ground as different thoughts ran through his mind.  Kath on the other hand could hear all the conversation behind the door, but he was so scared to utter a word as panic started to engulf her, cause Ravana has his gaze fixed on her's the whole time. He wasn't saying a word despite the ranting behind the door. The next thing he did was lean his back on the wall, and that's it. That's the only reaction Kath could get from Ravava despite the situation. "Kath, are you in there?" Kath could hear her dad's question from behind the door.  She sucked on her button lips still staring at Ravana. She had no idea if she was going to give a reply to her dad's question. Ravana had earlier warned her not to say a word and not to do anything silly. She was already in a critical condition and wouldn't want to add to the misfortune she was already in. "Kath!" The king called for the second time for confirmation. He drew away from his gaze from the door to the bodyguard, "You've checked the garden and still didn't find her?" The king questioned and the bodyguard nodded his head. The King was already getting frustrated as he ran his hands through his hair, "you know what? Break the do..." He was saying when a manly voice from his room interrupted him. "She is in here!" Was the next thing he heard which was obviously from Ravana. The King and everyone in front of the door became startled. There weren't expecting that. Like, they didn't. After knocking, kicking, and yelling, someone finally said something but then, their princess, was she safe? On the other hand, Kath was stunned by his sudden words. His words came as a complete shock to her. What exactly were his motives? Make her dad even more scared to death? She knew fear must have engulfed her dad. Her dad will definitely be panicking. She understood, if she was in his shoe, she must have passed out. The room door is locked and the next thing he hears was a man's voice saying his daughter was in the room with her, especially now that they have been expecting Ravana's second return. Her dad will definitely be in complete shock. "By chance, is that... Ravana?" The king questioned as his voice began to tremble. He couldn't and can't imagine his daughter being alone with him in that room. What in heaven's name is he doing in there with his daughter. "What do you think? Just decided to pay her a little visit for disobeying my command." Ravana said and a mischievous grin crept through his lips. "Break the door!" The king commanded and before the bodyguards could make any attempt, Ravana spoke up. "Do not worry about such issues, I can help you with that!" Ravana leaned forward. He bent down and wrapped his hands around Kath's neck. This time, Kath could literally feel his cold hands almost piercing the bones in her neck. She could see death but the funny part was that she wasn't dying. His grip on her neck tightened as he pulled her up and now, her feet could barely touch the floor. With Kath still in his grip, he turned to the door. The next thing that happened to her was quite unexplainable. Ravana's grip loosened around her neck as he forcefully pushed her against the door. Her back came crashing on it as the door pulled out and she landed on the floor with a loud thud right in front of her dad and the people of Nazirites. The parts of the door littered about on the ground as some parts of it pierces in her head. She could feel an indescribable pain all over her body alongside a sudden headache. That was the last thing she remembered and everything went blank!
