The Fire
All that makes life sweet is bestowed upon the Morrises. In a little town in Raging falls lived a lovely family of four Mr.& Mrs Morris with two wonderful children, Dolores and Martin Morris. A family blessed to have plantation passed on from generation to their generation soon to be passed on from Mr &Mrs Morris to Dolores and Martin Morris. But on The Day of The Last Summer fest ,2021, something happens, an occurrence that is kept quiet in the town and never mentioned in any household, in that town. People took it as a curse, that if mentioned such calamity would come upon another. The death of her parent and her little brother were unexpected. That Scars Dolores for life, with evil snatching up her family’s life...with tragic result, the wiping out of her family’s plantation. Dolores tries to piece together the shards of the family's past greatness, attempting to find and comprehend the secret violation that led to the family's catastrophic demise. Which only left her with nothing not even the plantation after taking her family from her but rather leaving her with nothing but pain and anguish   One early morning, Dolores woke up to go and do her normal chores which included sweeping, mopping, washing the utensils among other things that had to be taken care of. Dolores saw Flyers and banners around indicating a summer fest being done in her neighbourhood for the last time but her family was never invited and was never involved in the Activities held by the people in the community because the the Morrises had a strong belief about not being somewhere they are not accepted or appreciated. They were reserved and not bothered about what people had to say or think about them. Dolores wanted to have a glimpse of what it was like to be at summer fest and around to witness it once in her lifetime for herself because since it was indicated that it was the last that would be held in her neighbourhood ever again. She was so anxious and was willing to take a very big risk in sneaking out to be at the program, knowing very well she was not allowed to. The day seemed normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing in her wildest mind gave her the sense that that day was going to be the last day she would be with her family. That morning her mom prepared breakfast as usual for the family, her dad prepared his tools and checked the books of his plantation to see if the workers were straight with the job. Dolores brother Martin Morris was just running around and being himself the cheerful one. Dolores was done with her chores, she quickly hopped in the kitchen with her mum to help out with their breakfast for the family again. Nothing showed Dolores that this was going to be the last day seeing them alive. While in the kitchen, the only thing Dolores Could think about was how summer fest was going to be like. She was also calculating her moves and steps of how She would sneak out without being noticed, but she wanted to take her shots in asking her mom for permission indirectly to see if she could get the go ahead to prevent all the plans she was calculating in ahead to go for summer fest without being noticed Saving her the trouble of stress. Dolores asks her mum “Mother, can we please go for summer fest for once? It’s the last time it’s being held in the neighbourhood. We never go. Why is that? Why do the neighbours hate us? Why don’t they mingle with us? Why don’t we have a good relationships to even get to spend time together like other neighbours do?? Why do they look at us in an awful way? What wrong have we done to deserve this attitude? why don’t they show love to us but always hates and resentments?” She nagged and lamented Her Mother replied feeling guilty for her daughter’s unhappiness " I’ll consider it, you can go to check it out for a while, Do not exceed your curfew. I know you want to go but I won’t permit to to go with your little brother he is too young for it. It is nothing but envy and jealousy, the plantation has been in our family from Generations to Generations. Many have tried to get it out of our hands but have failed, and still are I wish that ends soon, we just need to work hard enough to add up to our savings to move out of here, there is nothing to proof to them we have to be grateful for our blessings at all times. But, for the most part, our small family feels exactly perfect to me. A family is made up of people who love one other, and we have plenty of that.” Dolores smiled as she listened to in her mom great advice she felt convinced that there was nothing that would make the neighbours change the perception about them but we do the most to show love and accept love from her family not being bothered about what neighbours had to say or what they thought of her family. Dolores was so excited about the fact that her mom had saved her the trouble of creating a master scheme to sneak out to witness summer fest she felt so relieved of that stress. Breakfast was ready, the whole family gathered around the table to have their meal, with no Negative thoughts in Dolores mind that it was going to be the last meal she would have with the family. Breakfast was over everyone Made their way straight to The Morris’ plantation. She was supervising the work the workers were doing everything was going on smoothly. Soon after Dolores mom, Mrs Morris give pair the go ahead to check out summer fest Dolores was so excited as she made her way to summer fest.  Few moments after, some people from the neighbourhood dressed in black showed up at the plantation. It was a little after the time where all the workers had left to enjoy summer fest with their families. They attacked her sleeping family with weapons. Dolores dad, Mr. Morris did his best to defend his family but he got hurt more than the effort he was putting in because it was 10 against one. With him getting beaten, He got weaker and weaker until he couldn’t help himself less his family. The men tied up Dolores mom together with her son, Martin Morris. The man showed no mercy as he tortured them. Mrs Morris and her son watched their father being beaten up. It was like they had no remorse with them being humans.  Mrs Morris screamed and begged telling them they would do whatever it takes, but they should just leave please. At least to spare the life of Martin Morris and take days instead.  “We will give you anything you want. We have savings. We will give everything to you. Please don’t do this. Leave him. Let him be.” One of the men dressed in black slapped Mrs Morris and told her to shut up, but she rather kept on screaming for help but no one came to their rescue. Everyone was at summer fest. The man then gagged her mouth for her to be quiet. The son kept on crying. The men then locked Mrs Morris, her son and the dad together in the house. With a man trying his best to save his family, every attempt was just getting worse and worse. It was futile.  The men then lit up the plantation for everything to get burnt together with the house which the family was in. One of the men said if “we don’t get that does plantation no one will” With Dolores not knowing anything about this, she was having a great time at Summer fest, seeing so many interesting sites having in mind that she had little time to spend at summer fest with obedience. Her mum gave to her enough money to spend so she tried her best to have a taste of everything as quickly as she could. She went on a trampoline, she sat on a horse for the first time. She enjoyed herself. She went to the photo booth for pictures for memories. She bought cotton candy. She was just living her best life. While in line for her last event, she met a boy named Marco Thompson. Marco didn’t live in Dolores neighbourhood. Marco and Friends were on vacation they were passing through Dolores town where they saw a flyer indicating a program called summer fest was, and decided to take a break to relax and enjoy themselves. Marco was so glad to meet Dolores. They had such a wonderful time especially right at the Ferris wheel but their time together didn’t last long then Dolores had to leave Marco and head back home. Marco shouted after her “how are we going to meet up? When will I see you again?” Dolores turns and said to Marco “we will meet again someway somehow if it was meant be” and headed back home only to witness the fire that changed everything.
