Big Change

807 Words
Marie Since Nathan proposed that we elope, we secretly pack and plan things. He already rented a small house somewhere in Maine. We planned on only taking necessary stuff that we really need. Just yesterday, I told Hilda that I will take a few months vacation from work. I used my frequent episodes as an alibi. She gladly let me have my vacation. Leah on the other hand, found out about our plan. She supported us but told me to be really careful. She told me to contact her if my episodes worsen over time. She also gave me a couple of bottles of my medicine for a few months supply. Im really lucky to have such amazing people in my life. Nathan and Alexander, on the other hand are surprisingly not in speaking terms. Whatever happened to them is really a big question in my part. ························· Right now, Nathan and I has been driving for roughly five hours now. He ditched his expensive car and get an old beat up beetle instead. "You'll love the house. Its really cozy and peaceful. Just the way you like it." Nathan said looking like a child on Christmas morning. I beamed at him and turned towards the window. I always enjoy seeing the scenery as we pass by. And I'm also excited to see the house. ································ A couple of hours more, we have arrived to our destination. The house, like Nathan said was cozy. The surroundings is quiet and peaceful. Its like those lively cottages in movies. After marvelling the place, we brought our things inside the house. Since it was a bit late in the evening, we decided to unpack tomorrow, and just rest. ····················· Nathan Marie and I are in for a big change. We are finally going to live together peacefully. We may not have much but I am happy. I'm happy that I got to spend every day of life with woman I love. After eating our breakfast consisting of instant noodles, we unpacked our things. Its not much anyway. Just a few boxes of our personal things. We may have difficulty of starting our life in this place, but the soft glowing smile on Marie's face reminds me that I made the right choice. "I'll be looking for a job tomorrow." I told her. "Me too. I can't really sit around here all day." She said. "Are you sure?" She nodded. "I love working and earning. It also help me take my mind off some things." "Did you have another blur flashback?" I asked. "No. But the last one wont ever leave my mind. Its still blurry but I somehow felt, home." She explained. I gave her a reassuring smile. "Do not worry. Everything will be alright. Your memories will be back in no time." I told her. She smiled. "I hope so too." "So, how about we explore the town after we unpack." I told her. She beamed. "I would love that." She exclaimed. I just love seeing her smile. I will do everything in my power to keep that smile on her face. I vowed to myself. ······················· Alexander Just as I thought about that stupid ball. Once the Queen saw me with my mother, the topic about marriage was brought up. Yup, queen. The ball was held in honor of Monaco's royal family. Its to celebrate the birthday of the youngest prince, Marius. All three princes share the image of their father, the king. Even in my tall brooding looks, its nothing compare to the intimidating look and vibe the king and princes gave off. But the Queen, she's like a goddess with her hair that put gold to shame. She was soft and caring. She's bubbly too, but I can sense a badass feline looming behind that warm smile. Just like my mother. That's why they get along pretty well. Considering they both grew up together in Italy. True to what I've said, I left them soon as the word marriage left their lips. Im not really keen on joining their discussion nor listen. Even if the bride is not present, I don't want to be labelled as the future groom. Nope. Not happening. ···················· When I got back in New York, the news of Nathan's engagement with Anika was the talk of the city. Its really inevitable. I would know. Arrange marriage is not taken lightly in this society were living in. My thoughts drifted towards Marie. Personally, I don't have anything against her. She's really nice and not to mention really beautiful. She doesn't deserve to be caught between this fiasco. I would've like to talk to Nathan about this, but the little fucker is giving me a cold shoulder. Maybe I should pay little Marie a visit. I thought. But I decided against it. I'm just digging my own grave.
